What nationality is the father? He has a Jordanian passport :( Why the sad smiley? Only because it makes it more difficult to decide what to do :)

It may be more time consuming but Dubizzle is the way to go and you will get more money that way.

Hi We have been going to Dr Nora Powell at the Dubai London Dental Clinic for many years and she is fantastic, very kind and gentle and an excellent dentist. Totally trust that she only does dental work needed too :-) Another Dr Nora fan here I got a lot of work done some cosmetic as well with her recently and it is fabulous she is so frank yet kind and tells you how it is no sugar coating! The work itself is brilliant and I am very very happy with her so thank you EW for the recommendation :)

Hello everyone I am thinking of booking this for Thursday but I have some questions if you do not mind: Is the half day boat tour sufficient do you think? I do not wish to spend the whole day on the boat but I was wondering if it is enough time to hopefully see dolphins How long does it take to drive there from Dubai Is it possible to drive through Khassab mountains without a 4x4 What else is there to do in Khassab on a day trip ie where to have lunch etc Thank you

Good luck with this diet I am looking forward to hearing about the results. I tried it myself recently for nearly three weeks and did not lose a single pound so I hope it works out for you! Not just a diet though. There are all the other benefits! Did you watch the program? Yes I watched the programme and read as much as possible about it before I tried it I was very excited about it but after having not lost any weight I was devastated to come to the conclusion that it did not work for me :( Believe me I found it very easy to do and was so excited about the idea of a permanent weight management solution :(

Well I suppose it is more like two confessions and am feeling very very bad today. Last night I ate my dinner early and gave the dog the leftover rice. The first confession is that I let him eat it from my bowl as I was going to put it in the dishwasher (the bowl not the dog). Not a good thing to do I know, but I did it anyway. Later on my DH was microwaving his food up and when I went in the kitchen I asked him where my bowl was as I was clearing away. His answer was that he was microwaving his food in it to save on washing up! I can't believe that I didn't tell him. I suddenly became very mute and I let him eat the food! I knew he was hungry after playing football and was looking forward to the meal and I just didn't know what to do. I need to confess this to someone and I still can't believe that I did it. That is absolutely disgusting.

This sounds like an odd question but I am hearing more and more stories of women here having miscarriages or unable to fall pregnant for a long time and I am wondering if it has something to do with Dubai or is it merely because I am at the age where my peers are all married/long term relationships and I will hear such stories. bit of a sensitive issue really, not sure it's something many people want to talk about... Why not? People come on here and talk about this kind of thing all the time. It's a valid question I agree. I think if we talked about it more often (when we are ready) it may just remove the stigma attached to miscarriages or even the thought/ fear that "there is something wrong with me". I had 3 miscarriages over a period of 3 years. I couldnt bear the thought of falling pregnant immediately after for fear of another miscarriage hence the timeline. Of course, that didnt help because the following year i had another and the following year another. I was on the brink of depression and lost interest in the physical side of things too. If i had a support group or someone to talk to i would have been able to deal with it much better than i did. My family didnt know how to deal with it and i got the most awkward messages from people. There are very few people who even know about the third miscarriage for this very reason. I was tested for everything under the sun and all results came back negative ( a good thing). I am older (turn 40 this year) but that had nothing to do with it. Eventually i was again tested for blood clotting and was put on medication for preventative measures. I fell pregnant, was high risk all the way, and delivered a beautiful baby boy in January! Was it the meds or just this little one's perserverance? I dont know but im glad i didnt give up trying. The road was long and hard and very very sad but im better because of it. Congratulations I wish you and your baby a beautiful and healthy life together xxx

Good afternoon everyone I thought I would let you know how my roast dinner went thanks to all of your help and advice :) Firstly it was nearly canceled when OH and I had a row about him refusing to offer wine to our guests who drink. It began small but then we were throwing many things in each others face and I cried all Thursday night and ignored him half Friday. We did not reconcile but I felt bad for letting down the guests so I asked them if we could change it to Saturday instead and they were nice and accommodating so on Friday night I did the shopping. I could not find everything in C4 so had to go to Spinneys as well. I arrived home at 10 PM very tired opened the lamb leg and guess what it smelt rotten! Like farts to be precise. OH had to return it on C4. So off to a bad start then I decided to make the bannoffee pie while I waited for him to return it was my first time and the proportions were incorrect according to my dish and I did not have enough cream. Everything was going wrong so I only topped half of it and had to wait until the next day before I topped everything else. Anyway the next day I rose bright and early and everything went smoothly. The roast potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside and Aunty Bessy did not fail. They only had 1 packed so I had 12 puddings which I thought would suffice for 8 but then one guest ate 6 of them while we were carving the lamb! His friend ate 5! So there was only one left I was astounded! Aside from that everything was lovely and the timings were fine and I feel very accomplished all of a sudden. Thank you very much for all your help :) edited by glamorgirl on 29/04/2012

Aunt Bessie's Yorkshires and Roast Potato's are in full stock in Spinney's Town Centre Springs! She's my go-to-Mamma when I need roasties in a hurry ;) Ooooooh no - you have to make your own roasties those frozen ones are awful. AGREE my own with goose fat take some beating :-) I will make my own roast pots but I will use Auntie Bessy's yorkshire puddings! I have some duck fat in the fridge so I will use that with your tips of boiling first :) I am excited now! I may make Tiramisu thank you :)

Thank you for being so encouraging. :) I appreciate your help. I was going to use this for the roast: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/402619/roast-lamb-studded-with-rosemary-and-garlic?pager.offset=20 Do you think it will be fine without the wine? Two guests are muslim so I cannot cook with wine in this instance.

Wow thank you everyone for all your comments you are wonderful!!!!!! I did not realise Yorkshire puddings would be so difficult I was going to follow this: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1104650/classic-yorkshire-puddings It seemed easy to me! Perhaps I shall use Aunty Bessie instead where can I find her Yorkshire puddings are they frozen or a packet mix? I will definitely do a timetable thank you as you are right it will help me organise everything in my mind. and keep me on track. I was hoping to do a dessert I could prepare the day before I do not think that is possible with bread and butter pudding, am I right? Or with Eton mess. I was thinking of bannoffee pie do you think that is suitable? You have all been so very amazing I am very grateful thank you I will definitely let you know how it went.

I have been to the one at the Palace and it was very nice but we could not sit outdoors as it was windy that day and inside it was a bit uncomfortable. The platters did not fit on the tables properly. The fare is very generous and delicious especially the scones and the lemon tarts.

Why are some people so judgemental the poor woman asked a simple question not judgement or opinions. I wonder if the women deriding her are perfect or just have no common sense or feelings. Who knows if her husband lost his job which is why she has no insurance and they are going through a difficult time.

It is simple Redlesley you enter JLT from SZR using the first exit (the one next to Emirates Hills) then when you enter JLT you stay on the left, at the roundabout you take the second exit (there are three exits at the roundabout) and then cluster I will be on your right. edited by glamorgirl on 22/03/2012

Just to update everyone who helped me...............she replied :D "Thanks for your e-mail. The fact that you're thinking of us means a lot. By the grace of God our family is good but we've lost some dear friends. It's been a difficult time for all Syrians across the world and our only prayer is that this ends soon. Thanks again for your e-mail, and for looking past what happened between us a few years ago and rising above it. I really do appreciate it. Wish you all the best always." Thank you for your comments everyone I have emailed her with this: I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and your family during this difficult time in Syria. You and your family are in my prayers and I really hope that things in your country become resolved soon. Take care. I feel better already. I felt like a very nasty person all this time because really we were friends at one time in our life although we had our differences and we fell out and I felt that I had to say something. THank you for helping me reach this conclusion I appreciate it.

Thank you Annedxb I will go for it as you said I have nothing to lose. The worst that can happen is that she will email me with a mean reply such as 'so now you bother to contact me after 1 year of the revolution' but at least I will feel better for trying. Yes I am a sort of believer more agnostic than anything else but kind of a Christian as well if that is possible.

Often airlines only charge 30 or 40 pounds for 26kgs extra (one extra suitcase) if you book it in advance so if you know someone coming from UK to dubai in the near future you can ask them to bring it with them. I know this is the case for Virgin and Austrian airlines.
