Glamorgirl, when you say it is easily shared by two, do you mean you buy one afternoon tea for 150 dhs and then share it? Does the Hotel not mind you doing this? Do u just get one cup of tea? u share a cup? Am i being stupid? lol please enlighten me! Yes I mean just order one and share. We have done it many times and they do not mind. One pot of tea is more than enough just get 2 cups.

My favorite afternoon tea is the one at the Ritz and it is not very expensive around 150 and easily shared between two. My mom is also coming soon and I will take her there for sure.

for me we are going out this year as there are 15 of us wanting to meet and celebrate together! I am not cooking for 15 people. last year we cooked and to be honest with the sun shining there wasnt that much 'atmosphere'. maybe it will be different when we have kids. Yes I understand. I will have around 15-20 people this year too and we will each bring a dish so I will just do the main turkey, stuffing and roast potatoes and everyone else will bring an item each. And a bottle ;)

They do. There is Internet City, MoE, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Trade Centre, DIFC etc. Only those few stops in the middle where only landmarks are shops.

For me Christmas is always a time for family and friends to be together etc and the homely atmosphere is an important part for me. I am wondering why everyone here likes to go to hotels more than cook a Christmas dinner at home.

Wake up at 6:30 and turn off the AC for an hour is your best option as you really cannot tell someone when to cook food in their own home.

I have not tried TGI in Dubai yet I suppose I wrongly assumed it to be the same as the US & UK. I will have to try Texas Roadhouse. Thank you for the tip :)

I have tried and it effected my digestive system alot if that is the correct way to describe it. To be clearer it made me go to the toilet often and after a while of using it I could not going to the toilet without it.

I work at least 9 hours a day usually more. For a managerial role 10 hours is not strange at all.

I do not like Kababji one bit. The portions are pitiful for what you pay for. It is really nothing special.

Also 2,000 calories is the recommended intake for a woman not wanting to lose weight. If you are eating 2,000 a day as you mentioned then you need to reduce to 1,500.

I cannot believe you have dealt with this for so long. I would never live in such a place! Please complain ASAP. Maybe write notices and put them under doors of each apartment. What kind of dog do you have? Maybe it is time for a rottweiler.

To be fair all weekend he kept telling me we have to talk about what happened but I kept saying later. After the week's angst I just wanted to forget about it for some time and relax. I hate 'talks'.

I know they are different but would have thought that the quota for one would be the same for the other ..... no? How would you have 'thought' something like that? Perhaps you need to think more....he he (dont gun me down, just sain) Many people work on their sponsors visas and get labor cards but no visa.

Thank you for your thoughts everyone. Well we have made up but yet to talk in detail about wtf happened! Yes he is Arab haha. But I am half Egyptian myself! On Thursday I sent him a message on Whatsapp saying that I don't appreciate his actions and we had another argument on Whatsapp for a while. Then I ignored him. Around 7 he called me on my office number (first call since the fight) and asked me when I would come home. I could hear in his voice that he wanted to patch things up and also he wouldn't have phoned otherwise. He has a strange way of extending olive branches! I assumed I would be ignored so had already made plans for drinks with the girls. Anyway Thursday night when I got home he was there and he didn't ignore me but still acted weird and then all weekend suddenly he was Mr Luvva Luvva, being romantic and sweet and caring. I told him the ignoring thing can't happen again and he said he wasn't trying to be vindictive but that he was so furious he didn't want to talk to me because he knew it would make him angry and we would argue again. We are yet to speak properly about what happened. So that is something to look forward to :(

No children, not married, usually happyish until we have an argument and then he never backs down. I suppose I will have to swallow my pride and talk to him.

so talk to him. starting the conversation doesn't mean that you lost the fight.. Agree! I suppose I ought to but I am tired of always being the first one to initiate reconciliation which I did once already on the first day and I wonder if this is what will happen forever if we fight.

Thanks for your replies. It is making me so down. I have been making sure to go out after work and meet up with friends just so I don't wallow alone at home but I start work early so I'm home by 11 and in bed. He walks in at 12 and that's it. I haven't seen his face for 4 days. I did say hurtful things during the argument but so did he. That same evening I tried to make up with him but he was still angry and now I don't even want to make an effort because he is clearly not interested.
