Yes, but they do not replace the maid or give any trial period and they charge 10k,..which is honestly, out of my budget.

Thank you all for the replies. It does seem a lot of money to pay the agency, and the agency who quoted 10k does not give any guarantee to replace the maid. Im finding the whole process really difficult, just selecting the maid based on CV, n letting her be part of the family.

I recently used Future Labour Supply and I am happy with the maid I hired. 042667412 Just called future n they are charging 9k for Indonesian maid. Could it be that the flight to Indonesia's are more expensive, but still 9k?

agree with Amalwaleed. I had 2 Indonesian in 3 years even I am not muslim, and I was very very happy with them. they also cook very well. but be sure she is already married as single are back for holiday and never come back as they get married by their family. Also I never took agency as they provided beginner and young girls without any experience without experience and english basic. how did you find the indonesian maid without the agency. please share as im looking for an indonesian maid.

There is only one expense in the home country and that's the medical ( Fit for travel) certificate. I brought a Filipino maid here and the agency only charged 3000 AED. I then paid for the ticket which was about 3000. So 10'000 sounds extortionate which agency did you use.? im looking for an indonesian maid...so there s not alot of agencies dealing with indonesian maids.

Does that include the airline ticket, medical and visa fees? No, just the ticket. They said that maid expense in home country. But I'm wondering what are those expense. Anyone, who has dealt with agency?

DH visited Ikea recently and took some photos so I could see them. Looks like they have a good colourful selection at good prices. Off to get mine at the weekend from there. Can you tell how much were they for?

We have a sturdy wooden table and 6 chairs that our kids used to use that you can have at minimal cost if you want. Our kids are now teenagers and these items have been sitting in the garage for years. Minor repairs and a good coat of paint would be required. If interested just let me know and I can send photo. Thanks a lot for the offer but I want something compact that can be tucked in the corner. Thanks anyway.

I know this place as my friends daughter goes there, she is quite happy with the staff n facilities. I met the child recently and she could say the happy birthday song in Arabic, which is quite impressive as Arabic is not spoken at home. I believe it's secular. Why don't u pay a visit again and check out the new staff yourself.

Our maid used to come to the last point of the public transport, then either she'd take a cab, or I'll pick her up if im home. The fare never used to be more 12-15 dim, she paid.

I didn't watch the video but my 18 month old uses iPhone/ iPad so proficiently that it freaks me out. I never encouraged her but she saw us using it and picked it up. Initially I thought it was good, n downloaded some rhymes n coloring apps for her but then she started using it extensively, now I limit her usage to max half an hour per day.

You need to find out what the waiting lists are like for both. No such thing really as being able to pick the school of choice here and be guaranteed a place. I'll be registering for 2014, they both are taking application for that year.

Sadly this is the case in many companies, with the job market being tough, managers are taking advantage of employees situation. A friend of mine (muslim) has been told that she would be working during eid holidays, yet her manager will be gone for 2 weeks for Christmas hols, totally unfair!

Just to add, they will come to your place but u will have to pick n drop them n u can use your own razor too. It can be done in your home in a better sanitized environment, I didn't know this when I got dd head done.

We took our DD to Favourite Things in Marina Mall. She got a certificate and a little pouch with a lock of her hair in it too to remember her first haircut! We got her hair cut at 40 days and the lady was great with her. Did they do it with a blade razor? I was told that it's supposed to be done with it only. Silly I know, but can't help it.

Got my dd head shaven exactly at 40 days after birth. I tried to stall it as much as possible but after repeated reminders from in laws, my husband just took her to his barber at oud metha n got it done. I went along too, n I planned on stopping it if I'm not comfortable but really these barbers are experts. He did it in no time, as he was used to it. Just ask for a Muslim barber if he has done it before.

For most of the ppl, driving on SZR is a nerve wrecking experience, better drive slow than kill anyone, n it's just a couple of time they would do that, after driving few time, they start to think it's a racing ground, so let them drive slow till they do.

So we were a bit late in deciding, nothing is available now, so now we have decided to go the following weekend. I need advice from ladies that is it advisable to go to wadi rum with toddler, we are thinking of staying 1 night in petra n do wadi rum, it would get a little hectic as we will be going for3 nights only. Is it possible or should I skip wadi rum? Any suggestion would b welcome. Thanks

Thanks for the input. We are looking at dnata package which is2800aed per person for 3nights at resort n flights, so we will be at the resort and will hopefully be able to do Petra n dead sea. Will skip Amman, though I wanted to do wadi rum, but I guess it would be stretching ourself too much.

from where i come from..car seat is an alien concept still.. and both parents are lazy as well as unaware of the potential hazard. they do know its dangerous but do give in to the protesting baby who does not want to be buckled up. i use car seat but am often expected to remove it when the guests come over to make more room in the car(which i refuse!) and i think more than 90% of the people i know here have the carseat but do not use as their baby do not like it. and as for taking risks... i think people generally in this part of the world take it very casually...have u not seen the way they cross roads!.

i dont know about Dr. Aziz, but Dr. Elsa did the same with me, prescribed me antibiotics before the test results came in, she said its not to take any chances, maybe its the policy of City Hospital. Though Dr. Elsa was always gentle with the checkups.

i agree with others to start giving normal food.. what i i do is i make boiled rice for the baby when ever im making curry for us.. so i just add some curry to the rice so it doesnt seem so spicy..or when im making pulao i just give it with yogurt.. or if i m cooking daal .. i take out a portion before giving tarka... n then add some with the portion i took out ... but there r still few things i would not give her obviously... like biryani or spicy kebab.. other thing i do is use green chilli and white pepper powder instead of red chilli...its milder.

just as you i was concerned as my DD is 14 months but now she has started walking....wht worked for us was that i got my DD some pretty shoes to walk in..which she adored and would insist on putting them on.. and i would only put them on when she would walk. another thing what we did was we walked her outside the house wherever possible, both me and my husband holding her hand and her being in the middle. its said that it takes out the fear. HTH

i took my plaster off in shower, so it didnt hurt at all. taking epidural was the best decision i took for me, i was throwing up badly at the start of labor coz of the anxiety as i was not relaxing. epidural made me relax and i could focus and felt so much better.

A friend of mine got her DD's ear pierced at iranian hospital . u can check with them. I did my DD's when she was 5 months. She screamed but it was more of a shock, she cried for a total of 5 mins and then dozed off. She had no discomfort after it and i didnt use any medication before or after.

i cant offer any help but my situation is exactly the same as yours.. DD is 13 months and weighs just 6.5kg. she is a picky eater..at days she would eat good amount.. but with her teething these days..she is hardly eating a spoonful. like you..i worry a lot too... but i think all this worrying just adds a lot of stress to us and the LO.. i think the best thing is that just avoid food battles and give high caloric food whenever possible.

thanks for the replies.. i really need the encouragement.. have been getting tests done on her for failure to thrive but nothing came up..its just that she needs to eat more. i cook for her everyday and then end up eating all of that high calorie food myself. i just thought maybe if i stop then she will eventually be interested in food...maybe not. appletiser: which vitamins do you give?

im nervous to stop because she is still bfeeding 5-6 times a day.. but she has developed several bad habits like feed to sleep, not drinking enough water, milk or eating much solids.. she is a picky eater and i try my best to get food into her.. so im thinking of just stop bfeeding to get her more interested in food. just to add she is v underweight, 6.5 kg at 13 months. so she definitely need more calories.
