Thanks ladies :) Also, there seem to be different views about whether you can re-use breast milk that has been heated once. Say you heat a bottle and your baby doesn't finish it.. do you think it's okay to reheat it a few hours later? Should you put it back in the fridge in between?

Sorry to hear your little one is unwell again DebsDebs. Mold is definitely not good for any of you and if that is the problem, you'd have to find the source of it. Try calling EPSCO - I have recommended them on here before as they are very thorough and will come and put a moving camera down your A/C ducts and show you the before and after pictures. I have no idea if they can deal with mold but no harm in calling them and asking them to come do a free inspection. Let me warn you that their actual AC cleaning service is not cheap but they do say you only have to get that type of intense cleaning done once a year or every two years so for me it was worth it. You can call them on 04 8804670

What is the general view on combining milk expressed at different times? 1. If I express 3 times a day, for example, and after the first time, i store the milk in the fridge, can I add the milk that I express the second time to the first bottle and add the third lot to that as well? 2. If I have a bottle of say 4oz from 2 days ago in the fridge and want to add another 2 oz to it for a feed and this 2 oz has been expressed today, can I add it safely for the feed?

Wow ladies - was just asking if someone has a reliable maid who's been with them for years and they can trust - to see if they're maybe going on holiday and wouldn't mind their maid staying somewhere else for a few weeks to help me out a little as I am in a fix. I have no intentions of doing anything illegal, nor leaving my 5 month old baby with 'an illegal moonlighting maid' (where do you ladies even come up with all this stuff?!!). I certainly was not saying I'll take just some random off the street or take one of those illegal maids who have 'their own visa' as I am fully aware that is illegal.

I actually didn't think this would be illegal. I know you cannot have someone working full-time in your house unless they are under your sponsorship. But I have friends who do not like to leave their maids alone in their homes over the summer when they are away etc and so they have asked other friends if the maids can stay with them while they are away. I assumed a temporary arrangement like that would not constitute illegal hiring per se, although I suppose it would be hard to prove that!

Thanks for all the fantastic feedback ladies! Janesul - that's such a kind offer and yes, I'd love to borrow the book and yes, I'd be happy to pick it up from Arabian Ranches (I live in the Green Community so it's quite close :) ) How do I contact you?

Woodys welcome to the dread shred :D It is REALLY hard and you will probably be sore tomorrow but make sure and work out again tomorrow or at least stretch real hard even though it will hurt as that will prevent you from feeling even worse the day after. And let me warn you it is addictive!!! Having said that, I've missed the past 2 days now... DA**ED visitors :( They're leaving tomorrow so I'll be sure to shred again tomorrow. Dohadaze - I've been trying to download the 30day meal plan but it just wont work - I don't get anything past the first page :(

Thanks LJB2010 - what foods did you start with? Veg? Fruit? I have a feeling DD will enjoy 'regular food' so I don't know if it's necessary to puree everything up for her... P.S. - thanks for your feedback on my Club Med thread. Was wondering if you could tell me a little more about the Hilton on there if you don't mind :D

Hi CT - hows it going :) You'll be back shredding with us in NO time I'm sure!!! Am very proud of myself for doing Level 2 Day 8 today. We have visitors staying with us for the next few days - I didn't want to jump and grunt in front of them so I went off into the office and played the shred on my computer and got it done :D Just 2 more days to go of level 2 - I don't even want to begin to imagine how bad Level 3 is :\:

I can't tell you from personal experience as DD took to the bottle on the first try (DH gave it to her and I stood far away. She is still exclusively BF and will take the bottle happily although she still wants the breast after sometimes, probably just for comfort) but I have read that sometimes trying different bottles/teats can do the trick. It may be possible that DD may take to another brand (the more experienced moms can correct me if I am wrong). I use Dr. Browns glass bottles and like I said, she took to it right away without any trouble. Then a few weeks ago I tried Avent and she's been fine with that too so maybe try some other brands before you give up?

Sounds like mastitis. I'm pretty sure I had the same thing a few weeks ago (or just severe engorgement) - it was accompanied by fever, chills and a headache. I put a hot water bottle on the sore breast and changed my feeding position each time (for me the football hold seemed to help drain that portion of the breast that was really sore if that makes any sense) so the suggestion of going on all fours and feeding from above is a good one. Also, massage like crazy just before and if possible, during feeding. It hurts but the massaging will help release the block. I did this and it went away on its own after 3-4 days without needing any antibiotics. Hope this helps!!

Thanks Cornish Pixie - will look up Cyprus too. We're all very keen on Italy but not sure which areas to look at. I LOVE Positano for example but that would not be appropriate with a little baby or with my father as it is a hard (mostly uphill!) walk to get anywhere there. Does anyone know which areas I can look at in Italy with nice baby-friendly beaches? Has anyone been to Sardinia - looks gorgeous - any suggestions in that area? LJB2010 - would love to know more about the Phuket Hilton. Looked it up online and it looks gorgeous.

Thanks for the ideas ladies. I will try DNATA. LJB2010 - I was thinking about Phuket too. But friends of ours went to the JW Mariott Resort and Spa there - and while they loved the hotel and restaurants, they said they couldn't use the beach there at all and it was far from Phuket town (although that doesn't bother me too much). Is the Hilton right on the beach? How far is it from the airport and from town? Guiness - I've been to Club Med Malaysia too and loved it too - but that was around 15 years ago!

Awww congratulations DC! Don't forget that every pregnancy is different so hopefully you will sail through this one with no MS or bloating :) And check with the doc re your exercise - I was told you can definitely continue exercising if you have a low risk pregnancy and have been active before, but you may end up wanting to do something a little less intense anyway. Or you may find you can manage just fine. Just take a deep breath and focus on happy thoughts and looking after yourself for now - like CT said, you can always come back to the shred 6 weeks after delivery ;) Big hugs!!

Day 2 Level 2 done (DH joined in again :) ) Seriously tough workout but it really does make you feel great when it's over!! I'm down a kilo since I started this but haven't taken any measurements - will try to hold off until I've completed 30 days of it. I'm definitely eating less sweets now that I've started working out so that's a good thing too :)

Shaf - I can totally understand your fear. I broke out in shingles when my DD was only 2 months old. As the shingles were right on my trunk by the time I figured out what it was, the doc told me DD definitely would have been exposed as she is bf. I was really worried but then calmed myself with the thought that at least if she gets it now, it'll be over and done with! Funnily enough she did not get it - I guess she did have the immunity from me. So your LO may not get it. Either way, as Green-ish said and from what I hear, it's really not that bad for kids so better they get it now than get it when they are older right?

I skipped yesterday as I had visitors over and didn't fancy huffing and puffing and having all my wobbly bits jiggle in front of them :) Almost skipped today as well but finally forced myself at 8:30pm - so Level 1 Day 9 done. One more day and then it gets worse :\: P.S.- how do you do the big toothy green smiley???

I took my dogs with me from Dubai to Nairobi many years ago as 'excess baggage'. It was pretty straightforward - took them right up to the check in counter back then (in their cages of course), weighed them right there, paid the charges and then they took them from there. Am not sure how much it helps, but just ask the people at check-in if they can confirm your dog is on the flight and is ok. You can also do that once you get on the flight. Basically, if you make enough noise, they will check and make sure your pet got on the flight and is fine. Like you said, it's a very short flight so I'm sure he'll be fine. Good luck!
