I don't have personal experience, however, the dermatologist at the German Medical Centre gets a good review, so much so, you may have to wait a few weeks for an appointment.

I know this has maybe been done to death but has anyone got a clue whether it is best wait for a deal or go and pay a small fortune for flights to ease the worry of not getting a seat! To get to Scotland, the prices with Emirates are ridiculous for the time I am travelling and none of the other obvious choices are that much cheaper, over 10,000 dhs for two of us which is nearly 1900 quid!! I do not think I am travelling at peak time, departing a good week or 2 before the schools break up and returning 3 weeks later, mid July. KLM are not much cheaper. Any ideas of whether it may be worth lingering a bit and seeing if they drop, it just seems a heck of a lot of money. TIA I agree that the price of flights to Scotland is beyond a joke. I have just booked a flight at fairly short notice from AD to Edinburgh and paid 520GBP with KLM, BA were quoting about 850GBP. My frriends keep asking me to go over for a visit, however, none of them are prepared to come here, why is it that a return flight coming from the UK is much cheaper than a flight from here? Why should I always be the one to travel and pay mega bucks? OK, rant over !!! :(

The last couple of bouquets I got from M&S were not very impressive and did not last long.

I bought white sticky labels in the Co op for my spice jars, I also use them for labelling frozen food as I got fed up trying to guess what everything was

The OP chose to eat in a restaurant offering a deal which she thought was a bargain price, she went on to enjoy the food,so, why not pay for it? It was an obvious error,so why not point it out and pay the correct amount, she could then feel good about herself instead of having a guilt trip

I am from Scotland and every year we would go to the Isle of Bute for our holidays.Money wasn't plentiful and my dad had to save for our two week holiday, more often than not the weather would be be awful with rain coming down in "sheets", nevertheless, we had a great time with lots of freedom to explore. We used to take two trains and a ferry to get there and it seemed like a great adventure to us, now with a car you can do it for a day trip!! I went back a few years ago with a car and had a great day exploring, what's more, the sun was shining!!

I got a really good recipe for butter chicken from here and have made it several times. I'm sorry I don't know how to link things but if you are interested: do a search on slow cookers, then go to the thread "how often do you use your slow cooker" you will find it there and can print it off.

I think that the dog should be kept on a lead and under control whilst within the building, that way,you will not get complaints from people who do not like them

Sorry, The Rodeo Grille is at the Beach Rotana!! We paid 295pp (food only) at Chamas, for me, there wasn't enough variety in the salads and only one dessert, take it or leave it!!!

We went to Chamas last weekend and thought it was very overpriced. I like the Rodeo grille at Le Meridian, they do wonderful steaks among other things.

Sorry, got the quote button wrong!! I use the site www.zoopla.co.uk, you put the post code in and it brings up their estimated current value for the property and also the last price paid and when it was.

We are buying and selling at the moment. On our house we have accepted an offer 5k less than the asking price and on one of the houses we are interested in we offered 250k less than the asking price and it was accepted!!!!! On another we offered 100k less and it;'s been rejected - we have offered more and are waiting to hear........ If you are going for new build find out when their financial year is - if you are offering and can complete by their year end get stuff thrown in - free carpets, free white goods etc etc. We were advised by the agents to make a silly off - so we did!!!!! Your agent should be able to guide you - they will know what the local area prices are - go onto rightmove.co.uk and check out other houses in the area. there's also a site (can't remember the name) where you can go on and look to see what houses in the area sold for. You can even search on the post code and road and you'll get a really good feel for what houses are selling for now and what they sold for over the last 5 years or so..... good luck!

If you are involved in an accident or whatever in the UK and use your UAE license, will the courts contact the licensing authority here to inform them of any penalties?

Like you, I have a lot of transferable skills, however, I don't have a degree, unless you count a degree from the university of life!!! I don't know about here, but in the UK, it didn't always matter whether your degree was appropriate to the job, the fact that you had a degree opened doors. Good luck

I can understand the need for a degree for many positions, however, I saw an advertisement for a lawyers receptionist that required applicants to have a degree. I was a police officer for thirty years and held a responsible/supervisory position prior to leaving. I find it frustrating that I can't even apply for a job answering phones and directing people to their appointments. It's difficult trying to find work but I guess we just need to keep looking!!

It's funny this thread should come up just now as I have been thinking about asking a question over the past couple of days. I moved into a tower block a few months ago and it occured to me that I had never heard the fire alarms being tested. Where I worked back in the UK, they were tested on a weekly basis and you were taken to task if it was not done! I was going to ask if the alarms were tested in other tower blocks, given some of the comments made, it would appear not, however,as this is an old thread, has anything changed?
