we are definitely getting thursday off. nothing to do with the labour law or what is announced, our company is great when it comes to a day off in lieu when a public holiday falls on a weekend. btw, we're a free zone company.

good advice everyone - the only thing I think abour charting is that if you are trying to put it all to the back of your mind, it is very difficult when having to chart every day. As it is the first thing you have to do every morning (after you turn off that ****** alarm clock :) it is the first thing of the day that you think about....if you have been ttc for some time, and its yet another month that it hasnt worked when you see that temperature dip, then it can be quite demoralising.... if you know what i mean. I COMPLETELY understand and appreciate the advantages of it but if you are ttc for some time then it can be a little depressing :( couldnt agree more. there is a post on here somewhere of me hitting rock bottom with another temp dip. BUT i learnt so much about my body with charting & what goes along with it. i understood certain changes and CM for the first time in my life. i just picked myself up, dusted myself off and continued charting ... the positives outweigh the negatives IMO.

by the way, i used this website to enter my temps electronically. you can enter a lot of other details too, which is helpful in establishing ovulation etc http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ (and, we're the same age as you)

have you tried charting your temperature? they sell the kits at boots and i swear by it. we've been trying for years, no success. i researched, read till i thought i could no more and then started charting. three consecutive times i fell pregnant within 2 months of charting (all 3 pregnancies ended in miscarriage :( ). we tried again at the beginning of this year, charted again, and i'm 28 weeks pregnant today. :) there is a lot to read about it on this forum, and one very wise poster, dubaicat, can fill any gaps you may have. she's been extremely helpful on this topic. good luck and lots of babydust to you both x

we travelled last month and i was amazed at how helpful the security people were. they could see i was pregnant and did not hesitate opening a side door or moving things around so that i didnt have to go through the xray machines. i didnt carry a letter from my doctor either.

we are also in JVC (the threads about huge DEWA bills & gas problems pertain to JVT) ;) dubai is a construction site, it is just the degree of it that varies from area to area. our area is settled, have pavements, grass, proper roads. we have 2 shops around the corner (in the lavendar buildings) + a furniture store + a salon for men. on the other side, where the atlantis accommodation is, there are 2 more shops, another hairdresser, a clinic as well as a pharmacy. i agree, you need a car to be living out there but motorcity is 10mins away and MOE is 15mins drive. the tecom bridge is open (d611) and that links you to sheikh zayed road in 5 mins. our dewe bill is similar to missy moo's ... in the middle of summer, with watering our garden twice a day, for a 3 bedroomed villa = 1,400 p/m

I would turn up but hang back and nip into the chuch/crematorium and sit at the back. Be there to pay your respects and go. I would speak to hs wife and explain that you will be there but won't go back after the service. Go and visit her in a few weeks time so you can chat with her and remember her husband. She will probably be very pleased to see you when everyone else has gone. That way you pay your respects on the day, you cause no ill feeling to your ex husbands family and you can boost the widow with a visit to remember her husband when she will probably need it most - a win, win situation. How lovely that you were able to see him before he passed away. I know my mum doesn't remember much about the day of my dads funeral but she remembers fondly of those who turned up in the weeks after with a cake, some flowers or a nice meal for the freezer. So sorry for your loss. *like* such wise advice OP, sorry for your loss

i take my pooch to PPP in DIP and she loves it there. they do a behavioural test beforehand and what i like most is that they divide the warehouse into 2 play areas, one for the small breeds and the other for the big dogs. my baby is so exhausted after a day at PPP that she sleeps all the way home and then some ;)

Apologies for dredging up an old thread. We have installed black out roller blinds and the top bit thereof are finished off nicely, so no need to cover that. There are, however, still light coming in through the sides and I was thinking of hanging 'dummy' curtains on either side of the blinds. I have 2 questions: 1) How do I hang those dummy curtains? I dont need an entire rod, do I use a tie-back (or two) and hang the curtain from there? 2) Where is the best place to look for baby curtain fabric, dragonmart? I never seem to find anything there :( Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

baby no 1 on his way. how do i choose a nursery? what are the criteria to look for? did you have a check list of things to look out for? i spoke to a lady the other day where the term fees are dhs.10k but it doesnt even include food. i know a baby doesnt need 'food' per se, and i dont want to skimp on fees as this is my child we're talking about, but 10k for bog standard services seems extreme. also, how long in advance do i need to check availability? thanks ladies, any suggestions would be helpful.
