Good luck. It is weird he hasnt been called. I got 2 offers within 2 months, and people kept calling me after I accepted one. I didnt have much experience plus being a woman makes it harder. I even applied to job postings offered on the newspaper or internet, the salary wasnt great, but after year and a half I made contacts and got a great job with the goverment. maybe the economy was better then? Tell him to try everything: newspapers, internet, cold calls, recruiters, etc. edited by imolinar on 24/04/2011

No, it is not weird, it is very normal. Better not to force yourself to vomit as you may not be able to stop . It is not the type of nausea you may be used to. Do a search, this has been discussed a lot. I am 20 weeks now, and it went away at around 14 weeks, now since 2 days ago the nauseas seem to be coming back. :(

I am also an automation engineer. it didnt take me long to get a job. I am sure he will get something, the problem sometimes is that depending on his experience the salary may be not that great. There are lots of companies in Jebel Ali, i.e Emerson, Yokogawa, etc. Also lots of systems integrators but those are not very good employers, better to go for multinational or goverment.

I think it is very common for maids/nannies sharing rooms with the children. I live in a building where all the apartments are one-bedroom or two bedroom with living room, one bathroom and no maids room, and I have seen lots of people with maids.

So I want to do prenatal yoga, I have done normal Yoga before and I like it, I find some positions challenging and I feel great. For prenatal yoga my DH is telling to join a class, and the only place "Yoga Tree" in AD charges 60 dhs. I have found some videos on youtube and the exercises seem very simple, dont seem worth 60 dhs, so I wonder if I should spend my money going to the Yoga Tree or just do the ones online?. I was thinking of going for a few and then continue at home doing the online videos!. For normal yoga I feel it is worth paying because the positions are tough and the instructor corrects you, but the prenatal yoga seems so simple. Any experiences?

There is a new building close to ADNEC (31st and Muroor), the 1-beds are very nice with facilities and are going for 100K, also the apartments coming in Al Reem Island are within that budget.

I think this practice is done in many countries where the small change is insignificant. But, I think it works both ways, if the bill is 30.30, I give 3.25 and they never said anything, sometimes they even give me a few fills more. I dont see a big deal. Even in the USA, many people dont even take the pennies they get back, many even throw them in the garbage. I was a cashier there, so I know.

I am pregnant, although barely showing, but by the time we go on holidays next month ( to Cyprus) I am sure I will have a bump as I will be almost 6 months. I was thinking of wearing a normal bikini, but I am not so sure, my husband feels it may not look Ok. What do you ladies think?, is it Ok?, bad taste?, should I buy a tankini or something like that?

I had 2 appointments one at 4 weeks with my GP, and then for the 8 week I went to the Gyn, both doctors ordered lots of blood and urine tests. I think these tests are important because they check if you have anemia, or rubeola, etc. During my second urine test, they found an infection, so I would ask the doctor to do it!, better safe that sorry. After that, I havent had any other test. For my friend she has an appointment every 2-3 weeks and they always do blood, urine exams, a bit exagerated but I am just giving an example. I think you are supposed to have one set at the beginning, and another one at 26 weeks? for diabetes.

I dont think a have maternal instinct, I think I actually hate children, and I didn't care about having any till I was approaching 35 and I decided I had to have them, because I knew I would regret it, if God forbids your husband dies you will be completely alone, plus as people used to tell me children are a pain but they make your home happy, they bring happiness and sense to your life, no job/friends/lifestyle can come close to it. Now, I am pregnant and I am really happy, I felt like I am fallen in love with my baby, and he has already brought lots of happiness to us and relatives even if he hasn't been born yet. I still dont like children that much, but I love mine :)

Most of the doctors prescribe Pregnacare, and it is only 36 dhs. The main vitamin before pregnancy is Folic Acid and pregnacare has the right amount, you don't really need anything else. You can also buy only folic acid (no pregnacare), and I think it is around 30 dhs. edited by imolinar on 04/04/2011

We are thinking of going for a holiday - babymoon for a week in May, and I will be 6 months pregnant, so we have decided Cyprus can be a good option, we want some sightseeing but also some relaxing with nice beaches (probably 1/2 time doing each). However, I have been looking at Cyprus sites and hotel resorts and the beaches don't look that great!! (they look better in the UAE), and the weather does not seem to be that warm for a beach. So I wonder why is Cyprus so popular????. I dont know now if it would be worth going now!.

It's part of being pregnant, I felt the same as you, but after 12 weeks I started to feel a bit better, although still nervous, next week it is my 16 week appointment and I cant wait. I am a bit worried that people say too many ultrasounds are bad but at the same time I feel it is the only way to know the baby is fine, at least till I start feeling him. We should feel lucky, before people didn't have ultrasounds,.....Just be positive that everything is fine.......

I was feeling similar to you, although I was (am) 34, but I always thought I would regret it. I got pregnant the first time we tried and now I am 4 months pregnant, we are very happy about it, and I think it was the right and best decision, my husband even got so excited about the first ultrasound that he mention he "wanted lots of children" (it wont happen though) when he was the most reluctant to have......I think it is a great experience and hard to regret!

I finally found some shops that sell belly bands in AD. However, I tried on one, and I could not figure out how you are supposed to wear them for unbutton, unzipped pants? they didn't seem to be tight enough, but then how tight are they supposed to be?. I tried the size I am supposed to be. Also, it seems to me it is kind of long. I am 5'2' only and 110 pounds. I tied the size 8-10 Uk at mammas and pappas as the other shops only have larger sizes. Are you supposed to wear inside or outside the pants and fold it?????.

kind of scary, I already had 2, one at 8 weeks and another at 12 weeks, next week I will have one at 16 weeks. I actually thought it was nice to have frequent ultrasounds as I can tell the baby is fine, otherwise how do you know?. Some women miscarriage and there are not symptoms, they only catch it during an ultrasound.

AS I said before nothing worked for me either, the Navidoxine wasn't that effective either, the only effective thing to do is try to sleep, and pray the time goes by fast. Try not to move much either and rest a lot!. I feel for you, but then it will get better.

I am 13 1/2 weeks. For the past few days, every day after lunch/ dinner (actually very light meals) I am getting nauseas sometimes while eating and I cannot keep eating, other times after 1 hour, then the nauseas disappears after some time. Also having stomach pain many times during the day (not abdominal, no uterus related) like the pain you get when you eat something and the stomach does not like it. Today, at 2pm I even vomited after having some natural mango juice, don’t know if its because I took my iron tablet and my stomach wasn’t that full ( it cannot be that full since I cannot eat much). Is this supposed to be normal?. Can it be due to taking prenatal plus calcium plus iron??. Last week I did not have the pain and the vomit only happened 2 days (while taking all these supplements). My morning sickness did not used to come after eating, this feels different. Should I see the doctor?. Just want to add that I ate some crackers today at around 10-11 am, and half way I feel like vomit so I stopped. This nauseas are different since once I feel them and if they get strong I have to vomit. Also, it seems to me that sometimes the strong sense of vomit comes when I stand (move) from my chair at work even an hour after eating :(

I see dr Sawsan at the Cure, and the charge is 350 Dhs per appointment and includes ultrasound I think because I havent seen it being charged to the insurance. The first time the blood/urine exams were around 900 dhs. However, probably better to go to a hospital and see if you can get a whole prenatal/delivery package!

just to update all those that offered up Dr Sawson recommendations, she has been fab, I'm so pleased I changed. seriously dont bother with gulf diagnostics for gynae. I felt like a leper going as a single female and was given no advice whatsover. Dr Sawson was really thorough and listened to what I wanted. Agree Dr Sawson is great. I am seeing her and I can get an appointment really quick. Also the prices are not bad and there is parking!

One of the methods I read is that the closer (intercourse) to your ovulation day the greater the chance of being a boy. I will tell in 3 weeks (during my next scan) if its true since we did it a day before ovulation so technically we should be having a boy, we will see?
