Cause, first officers who have been with the company have been patiently waiting for their upgrades to becomeing captains and the company hires captains directly from outside.

I think most schools are between 25-28. Not in the schools that I have / would use. Way too many. 21 max. with teacher and para (and not an uneducated helper) I saidmost schools, not the one I "use". how would anyone know 'most' ? and so far there have been several posts stating the contrary and none in support. The fact is that Repton, Jess, japs and and and ....the other schools that are talked about on here are not MOST schools in Dubai!

no don't think so, you just tell them the sq footage of the place and they estimate how much wood to get. Better to underestimate, they can always go back to get more but if they overestimate you are stuck with the extra... :/: Will they fit it?

I have been car less for two days now and taking the children to school in a taxi. I have skipped the activities and life and has been so much more relaxed..... Now I wish my just let the children grow up without learning a musical instrument, a sport, gymnastics or....... You know! Why can we have 48 hours in a day?! :( Oh rant over! Meh, there is something about just letting small people play, isnt there? Our round of out of school activities are just about to start up again, and , forgive me, but I am dreading it. I know she really really wants to do this stuff, but she has been happy playing in a box for the time being. I dunno, well rounded, educated and happy kids, or just well rounded happy kids. I give up. Being a parent/taxi driver huh? I rally don't know anymore, either:( they love their activities but when they get a chan ce to just be...... They loveee that even more. I wish 1 there was a right answer/ formula for all, but I know there isn't.

Read the book and watched the film twice. Very good. I thought the film reflected the book really well. I agree with Monkey Face it gives you perspective. If you have the opportunity to read the book do so, highly recommend it!! Is the book available in Dubai?

I have read the book and absolutely loved it. Definitely one of the best written English novels I have ever read. I am planning on watching the film tonight. Will it shatter my imagination of what happened in the book or is it a nice addition? Thanks.

I think the bottom line is that she was due for her raise with us and the 1500 was hers only. Anything and everything else was covered, seasonal clothes, phone cards, toiletries and top of the line food. The only thing she didn't eat with us was sushi cause she didn't like it! Even then I would get a her a bento beef box. If we cook 100dh/kg steaks or 10dh mince, she eats with us. If she feels like cooking she uses whatever there is in the fridge or freezer, or even ask for a specific item to be bought. Now she was told that they will match her salary and give her a raise in 6 months. But all of a sudden she has found out that she cannot cook in the kitchen or eat with them and she will be given 100dhs a month to eat and buy toiletries! I mean a pack of pads alone is at least 20 a month! I would really like to talk to her new employer but I don't want to some rude and over step my boundaries. She has no choice but to go with them now as she has no time left:( edited by Irooni on 28/02/2012 edited by Irooni on 28/02/2012

Let's support our local farmers too! :) Exactly - seems like there is a new organic farm in Al ain as well as the Al Mar..... one in AbDabs..... all for this it;s great. My issue with Ripe is that it's a bit expensive really, and they always fill the boxes with a million cucumbers....seriously who needs more than 4!!!! Iranians!!!!!;) We mix them with yoghurt, salads and eat a 100 at a time just like that, without anything!

It's so hard to be green and vegetarian in this country. On the subject of local production, have you seen any fruits? :( The only locally produced fruit that I know of is small, bright green, and round. It is crunchy like an apple. Does anyone know what this is called? Also, dates could be considered locally produced. At union co op you can get local organic cucumbers.
