She imports them from Europe and then sells them from home. Facinators start at AED 150 and hats from about AED 250 if I remember rightly. She had every colour you could imagine and was happy for you to look through every box (which I think I did) and seemed to get pleasure out of seeing the excitement on my and DD's face trying them all on. Definitely worth going to have a look and really easy to find

Good luck with the move

I am hoping that someone on here can help me with this as I am so out of touch with the latest trends. My niece has asked me to get her some vesty t-shirts from Karama and wondered if someone can tell me which designer is best to buy for a 15 year old girl? Any advice greatly appreciated. TIA

Sorry can't remember his name but he is based down in the shoe section and is a slightly overweight Filipino guy but knew all about what shoes were best for whom and even analysed my shoes I wore into the shop to be sure his analysis was correct. Wore the shoes last night and they felt great. Not sure how long the sale is on for but it did only start yesterday so a few days yet?!

Just a quick update. Found out that there is a really good guy in Go Sport in IBN Battuta Mall and went in to see him last night. He really knew his stuff and the added bonus was that not only did they have a really great pair of shoes they were also reduced 25% in their sale - result! Ended up buying Asics and wore them last night and they feel great with so much more support around my feet. Thanks for all the really great tips. Jackie edited by Jac on 25/04/2012

I always use Ariel and add some Vanish powder for the white wash and have never had a problem to date. Also use comfort to give it that nice fresh smell and to keep things soft.

Hi LEC, I am living in The Greens and have been for the last 6 years. The properties in the lower street numbers are a bit larger than the apartment in the higher street numbers. I live close to the small shopping centre and Emaar Business Park and love it but some people complain about the mosque but doesn't bother me. I am afraid I can't recommend any agents but would suggest you check on Dubizzle as this is a good place to start. If you are looking for somewhere close to a metro station The Greens is not ideal as it is a good 10 minute walk from where I live in The Greens. Maybe try looking at apartments in Tecom as this is close to the Greens and closer to the metro station. Good luck with your search

Steve Wright is on the radio now as he does a show on a Sunday with requests for Love Songs, followed by Terry Wogan - favourite day at work as get to listern to some great 'old' stuff. Used to live at the bottom of a hill and enjoyed watching the boys skateboard down and then walk back up again. Great memories - thanks!

I personally would book a treatment at the Amara Spa and you can then use the pool and spa facilities for the day. Beautiful pool, excellent treatments and the food is great too. Have fun Jackie

I would suggest calling the Spa at Al Qasr Hotel as they used to do them. Although the class was AED 60 this did include use of the spa facilities afterwards and we used to go for a swim after the lesson so well worth it in my opinion. I haven't been for ages but keep meaning to go back. Good luck

Don't panic! I myself was born with 2 lower teeth and although it was obviously some time ago did not cause any problems. They obviously fall out a bit earlier than children who don't have teeth when they are born but the adult teeth are fine and I have suffered no ill effects at all. I would think that pulling them out would be very drastic?! Good luck with the new baby. Jackie

The testing they do for the registration is not even close to being a proper check of the worthiness of the vehicle so would advice getting it checked by a garage before purchasing. Most garages will do a thorough check for about AED 300 and it takes about 1 hour. Tasjeel is easy but can take some time depending on what time you go in the day. Good luck!

Have found out today that our pool will be closed from 4th September - 3rd October for maintenance. Always astounds me why they wait until everyone is back from vacation before doing these works. Does anyone else living in The Greens have their pool closed or is it just us? Wondering if they can allocate an alternative pool to use while ours is closed? TIA

Depends on your taste but saw some beautiful ones in Pottery Barn in Dubai Mall - not cheap but in the sale so cheaper than they would have been. May have to go back and get them?

We went there in a sports car and as long as you go slow there will be no problem using a saloon car. A beautiful place but food and drink is extremely expensive so maybe go prepared. I'm sure you will have a great time!

We used a company called Space3 for our new kitchen and the owner, Paul is English but employs a cheaper workforce. Did a great job and turned up when they said they would. Should certainly be cheaper than what you have been quoted so far but doubt they will be cheaper than Ikea? good luck whatever you decide

Hi I had a cut in a new salon in Dubai Marina called "Pamper Me" and a lady came in to see if they offer the Keratin treatment and I know they said they did but am afraid I don't know the price. Maybe give them a call as I was really pleased with the cut I had. Good luck as I know it can be really expensive!

My Dad used to always fly with BA and they used to assist him off of the plane straight into a wheelchair, collected his baggage and even let him use their mobile when I was not at the airport one one occasion. The only additional cost is the AED 10 for the porter to collect the baggage otherwise included in the free assistance through BA. I couldn't fault them as they were excellent every time! No need for Marhaba in my opinion.
