I recently used Fair and Lovely marks remover on my chickenpox scars that I got last year and it actually worked (recommended by a colleague). Cost only 7 AED for a small tube. Found in all super markets. I bought mine in C4

Banking is lucrative but dry .....montessorie is fun and lively but you dont get paid as much. Banking has loooong hours, school is relatively short hours and you get summer/winter holidays. If you are married you will have to weigh this as you need to give time to the hubby who might or might not be understanding. Then if you get kids I feel you have an obligation to them. With teaching you can work at the same school. If you move back home you could even start your own business..... It all depends on you really. By the way I am a banker (not by choice but necessity and I would give that up in a heartbeat to be with my kids if it was possible)

Anyone know where I can find brewers yeast? Not to brew beer but to make lactation cookies. Also, if you have tips on increasing breast milk supply, would really appreciate. Thanks! Drinks loads and loads of water. It is the best and most natural way of producing milk. I could not make it stop once I wanted to wean my DH off the stuff ...LOL...it is also great for losing the baby fat as it essentially takes the fat deposits you have and converts it to milk.

I agree with AmyAus82. Dont base your expectations on the "conventional" ones of yesteryear. The world is changing. Now it is no longer the "job" of the man that defines them. Many marriages that I know of that are extremely happy are ones where the woman brings the food to the table and the husband takes care of the house and kids. It is a partnership that needs to be worked on not weighed against what one brings. His friends may be gr8 for him but not for you. Let him have them as he lets you have yours. That said, yes it is hard but not impossible, just keep an open mind :)

When I just got married 10 years ago I asked my new husband who is by the way a Pakistani (born and grew up in the US) to visit my parents in Pakistan. He was very nervous as he had only been there once when he was very small. He wanted to know what to expect. I told him we had electricity issues (no lie) and that we had no sanitation system. so essentially we had to use holes in the ground which is covered up later by the help. You could see the relief on his face when he walked into our state of the art bathroom when we got there....lol

If I am not mistaken 0091 is the international dialing code for India. Maybe someone is trying to get a family member by giving missed calls. Pick up and let them know they have a wrong number and they may stop. If not then you can call your provider and they can block the number. If it is a local number then teh police are also pretty good at stopping them. I had an issue with someone from Al Ain giving me calls in the middle of the night on my land line. The police found out who it was an and made them apologise. They never called again.

I caught my friends fiance at a party in a very compromising position. I never told her because I was scared she would not talk to me again etc etc. In retrospect I should have told her because he went on to cheat on her through-out their marriage. To the point of cheating openly. She married without the blessings of her family so she could not go back. Had no "trade" and had three daughters. Today she is still married to him in name only gets no financial help and he has married again. Very complicated....I wish I had had the courage to tell her so she could have had a better life without him.

I had something similar last year . I felt like I was coughing my lungs out. The only thing that ultimately helped me was having the humidifier on the whole day and next to me when I slept. When it was really bad I used the nebulizer with ventolin but that made me jittery so used it just with saline water. Took a while but it subsided.

Sorry you're so upset. You won't be injecting it, so wash your hands and move on. It is okay to touch a ***, you know even as a Muslim. It is also the fact that I feel like I have been ripped out of my comfort zone because this is a muslim country and I thought I would not have to be on my guard as I would in other countries. One of the reasons I am also living here compared to say the US or UK, or in my case Germany.

I have been looking around for something as well. will give you a shout if I find something. Otherwise I met this group of people who occasionally put together food packages for poor families living in Ajman. Would this be something of interest? I was thinking of maybe doing a toy drive with my girls, take a table at one of the flea markets and then donate the funds.....

My daughter is in the Sharjah German School ( I think there is one in Dubai as well). The German system does not believe in over burdening the child till he/she is 6 so essentially school starts for them at 6. Until then they are in the Kindergarten where they are taught life skills as well as pre-school material but I have yet to see my daughter bring home work. My daughter is 4 so I dont know if there is a lot of homework for her when she gets to "school" but I can highly recommend their schooling system. Try and get an appointment with Dr. Ghalia at Belhoul European Hospital on 2nd november street. She is an amazing obs-gyn Dr. who would be able to at least give you the second opinion and steer you in the right direction if not offer a solution.....in the mean time take care of yourself, sleep a lot and eat healthy. If possible soak 4-5 almonds and raisins overnight in a little milk and eat them in the morning. This apparently builds your immune system and keeps you strong for what is to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

No chocolates!!!! lucky her.....LOL When my DD would fall asleep without eating anything I would blend an egg in her regular formula and give it to her while she slept....I know not good for the teeth but I was worried ...so sue me. On another note, I heard camels milk has all the nutrients a person cud need. My DD loves it. Why dont you take her shopping and buy her a small bottle (has a nice purple label) make up a story and see if she drinks it. Stories help....my kids love brocoli because I said they were mini trees from the enchanted forest.

If your DD is not eating and there is nothing wrong with her ( I assume you checked with a dr) then she is getting her sustainance elsewhere eg. milk or candy etc. Do you feed her at odd hours etc. I had the same problem with my DD who would fill up on milk and then not eat. I had to regulate the timeings. What I also did was boil vegetables eg. carrots, pumpkin, dates etc in milk, blend it to make a milk shake and let her drink that. She loved it thinking she is just having a flavoured milk. Otherwise you could give her Peadiasure complete. It is meal substitute for kids who dont eat and that has all the nutrients of a meal in it.....hope this helps

I had a loan from emirat-- money which is somehow linked to your bank. They gave me a two year loan which I cleared in 8 months. It was pretty straight forward. They did an auto deduction from my acct (also in yr bank) every month and once I told them I wanted out they calculated the 1% of my remaining balance and asked to pay the amount. and that was that....maybe my math sucks but I actually paid less than anticipated. They also have a loan against gold so no security chq is needed there either (if you have that much gold ha ha ha) anyway, they give you 80% of its value. Also not a bad alternative.

My mum who has been living in this part of the world for over 60 years (she is 82) always has a supply of "pinki" i.e. Potassium Permanganate in the house. Just soak the fruits and veggies in a tub of water with a pinch of the stuff and voila in a few minutes your food is fit for human consumption. Just dont leave it too long or the veggies will lose their colour & flavour.....dont know all the details but we never had any problems. .....by the way Pinki is also part of the diplomtic survival kit given to its employees travelling to "suspect" regions.

My DH bought a breakfast and after a few bite had to throw up because it was bad. The cleaner saw the whole thing as he rushed to the washroom. When my husband took the tray to the customer service guy he took the whole tray turned around , binned it and then turned back said with total arrogance..."we only serve fresh food". Needless to say my DH has banned us all from patronizing the place

My daughter came home with lice too last month and I nearly had a fit. I used La Braziliana's Lice repel mouse. I like it because it was a non-toxic , pesticide free, an enzyme based shampoo that safely removes lice AND their eggs. My daughter has short hair so it just took two goes at it on consecutive days. I now use the repel spray (that has stuff like rosemary, citronella, tea tree, and lavender oil in it) just before she goes to school to prevent it from happening again. They also have a shampoo and conditioner. I bought the whole set from the supplier (friend of my husband). If you are interested I could ask him for a set for you

Hi Milly, Like everyone else I would say wait until the Divorce is final. And now to the Pakistani Gentleman....My father was Pakistani (from a feudal family) and my mum European. He was very very emancipated for his time and they were both madly in love (right till he died). There were actually many Pakistani's that married Europeans in the 50's and 60's. However, times have changed. There are still some that marry but 9 out 0f 10 of the ladies are unable to cope with Pakistan, the joint family system etc. This has scared families away from mixed marriages and most young people who leave to go abroad are conditioned not to even think of bringing a "Gori" home. This does not stop the young men from having a good time. When it comes to the fact that you are (will be) divorced....well that is a double whammy against you. In Pakistani society (though things are changing in the educated/upper class) you are considered a social pariah and shunned. Oh of course the men love you because you will be considered easy. That said, not everyone is the same. I married a wonderful Pakistani man who treats me like his equal and loves me. But it was a rough road for me to get to him as I had to over come prejudices like "Oh her mum is a gori so she must be bad or oh what sort of family lets their girls work ....etc etc....so even in the future if you do get together be prepared for some rough sailing. btw my husbands family has still not accepted me.....(depite me being half Pakistani and having grown up there)... which is sad because my daughter would love cousins and paternal grandparents.... BUT my husband stands by me.

I am going to Dr. Thomas at Belhoul Hospital. He was very gentle at my check up and totally put me at ease. The insurance is paying for my root canal but when I asked I was told it starts at 700 AED at the hospital. I generally go to this hospital as the Doctors are VERY good and the services are reasonable.

I had the same problem. My stress was also not helping so I was having a snowfall on my shoulders everyday. Then my maid (an indian lady ) recommended I use a ayurverdic shampoo. Its called SBM Thurali juice shampoo (I bought it in mayalal's) I swear by it now. The same brand also has a hair growth oil which claims can grow hair from balding spots . Now I dont know if this is true but I guess it cant harm you. Besides, south Indians usually have pretty awsome hair so they must know what they are talking about.

Hi Ladies, I need to help some of my waiters open a bank account, but the minimum salary is 3000 and the required constant balance is 3000. Can anyone help? The salary that they are getting is 2,500 and the only issues is the boys as the girls do not face the same requirements. !!!!!! I dont know if this helps but when I cam e to the UAE I needed a bank account so the nice gentleman at the bank told me to open a savings account (which did not require a minimum) and once I got a job the company used to transfer my slary there. Dont know if this is still possible with all the new rules....
