Cherpie - if at any time in the next few weeks (I am moving to Bahrain with DH job) you decide 'to take the children out for a day or evening' however, wish to 'let your hair down' and go out with friends or for time on your own, please let me know and I can be there in a flash. I am a qualified child minder from the UK and a mother of two myself. As in a famous advert 'advert in UK' (look up on Google if not sure) - I can be there 'anytime, anyplace, anywhere'... uae newbie at g mail. Hugs to you and the children... x

When DH left DEWA he gave 40 days notice as he knew the date of leaving the villa. Received his bill online and the deposit was automatically offset (although he did not request for a cheque) against the final bill. Someone else may offer a different alternative. Good luck with your move!

You can effectively open an account without a resident visa (subject to individual bank). However, you will not be issued with a cheque book. If you ultimately become resident of the USA (ie a US person) you are subject to US taxes on all accounts around the world and this account would need to be disclosed. FATCA is a US tax law. DH advised the above.

Torch Tower Resident: I have lived here for a year and a half and no fire drills have happened during that time I have been here...

A phone is like a vacuum cleaner, it's a necessity of life. It's not a special gift that says "I love you more than money" Why on earth would you need a special gift in order to know that your husband "loves you more than money". Surely that's a given? Would you still love your husband if he was unable to give you expensive gifts? Do [i'>you [/i'>love [i'>him [/i'>more than money? On a separate note...did anyone hear the woman on the radio last week bragging about the gifts her boyfriend bought her, when asked if she would love him if he didn't have the money, her answer was "I don't know I am very self-centered". Unlucky for her, her boyfriend overheard her calling in, and ended their 2 and a half year relationship, right before he was planning to propose to her at the Burj Al Arab on Valentines Day. Her reaction: "do I still get to keep the Porche you bought me for Christmas??"!!! I heard them talking about it but I didn't hear the Woman talking. She apparently had two pairs of Laboutin shoes worth DHs48,000 purchased for her also.

You simply cannot put a price on three to four hours a day everyday, not to mention the bad example I'd be setting for my girls by doing that kind of work How would taking care of your own home yourself be setting a bad example to your girls? I would have thought the opposite to be true, many choose to do their own housework out of preference, and for whatever reason there's nothing demeaning in doing so. edited by chezmoi on 15/02/2015 I would like for them to one day marry men that can properly provide for them. You are entitled to raise your daughters as you like of course, and I don't mean to be critical but how can you guarantee that even if they marry super wealthy men that something could not possibly happen to affect their wealth? If they are raised to only expect to be served by maids they will be ill prepared to deal with any eventually that might heaven forbid change their circumstances. Even the Queen of England was taught how to sweep, mop, clean and dust as a young girl, does she ever need to do these things, no, but actually she chooses to sometimes to when she is on her private vacations so she can enjoy a bit of privacy away from servants. She also regularly walks her dogs herself as well. Just my opinion, I do not deny you yours, and I wish you all the best. edited by chezmoi on 15/02/2015 I am raising my daughters in the fashion in which I was raised, and I turned out just fine edited by MoonFlower582 on 15/02/2015 Oh please.....boasting on here will gain you no brownie points I can quite assure you....

Firstly, I would consult an immigration lawyer. Unless your partner is suitably qualified, I highly doubt he would obtain work - plus he would need a work visa as being a non Brit anyhow. In addition, the UK is rife with Immigrants and as one poster mentioned in another question - 'we need them like a hole in the head. Also, best for you to be married to get a 'proper' visa prior to entering the UK. As mentioned, discuss your options with an immigration lawyer. Hope all goes well.

Hi. It is down to each individual employer - there are many threads on this subject and each will give differing opinions. Personally, I took my housekeeper shopping each week and she would generally choose antiperspirant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste as and when she required. It was not a problem for me if she chose, on occasions, moisturiser etc. With regard to food, I purchased a two stove for her room plus microwave and rice steamer. Again, she would choose her food and over 2 years here previously we had no problems whatsoever. If she wanted additional (as we all do on varying moments), she would use from her salary.

I am not a lawyer but we had a similar incident with an employee a few years back and the employer made arrangements with the bank to pay the overdue amount plus the assurance of closing all accounts (current/credit cards) and the police case was dropped. He was allowed to continue living and working in AD whilst the amount in question was deducted from his salary each month. Downside however, the process took a few weeks. Would this be an option perhaps?

"See your GP for advice if you want to delay your time and you are not taking the combined contraceptive pill. They may be able to prescribe medication called norethisterone to delay your period. Your GP will advise you when to take norethisterone and for how long. Usually, you will be prescribed three norethisterone tablets a day, starting three days before you expect your period to begin. Your period should arrive two to three days after you stop taking the medication. However, it’s important to be aware that norethisterone does not act as a contraceptive when used in this way and it may not be suitable if you have a history of thrombosis (blood clots). It’s effectiveness at delaying periods also varies from woman to woman. Some women taking norethisterone have reported side effects such as bloating, breast tenderness, nausea, headache and disturbances in mood and the bedroom dept..."
