Plus if you only have 3 months left on your current contract, the landlord has the right to not renew. If he was sending an eviction notice in the middle of or the beginning of your contract he has to give you 12 months notice. I'm sorry your in this predicament.

I asked my friend in RERA, he only has to give you 3 months notice like any other rental property in Dubai unfortunately.

RAK Freezone is fab, plus they have an office in Festival City so you don't have to trek up to RAK to do any thing. You can even do all your visa's etc in Dubai. So convenient and highly recommended. The price is good also, just this silly flexi-desk you never use that you have to pay for but the same goes for all FZE licenses here :)

Unfortunately there is nothing much you can do without being with the company for at least 12 months. They don't need to give you notice, they can terminate you with immediate effect as long as they pay you the 1 month salary + they don't even need to pay you for 2 months as you haven't completed a full year with the company. They do not need to give you a valid reason, in the UAE 'cost cutting' is a valid reason. Sorry lovey but i think you are a bit stuck on this one :(

You dont actually have to drive into Oman to get your passport stamped etc, all the boarder patrol agents know you are doing a visa run. Your friends just park in the car park and you walk into the office, get and entrance and exit stamp in the same place, walk out to the car park and you are on your way back to the UAE. It is so easy so i wouldnt worry too much.

In the old days you could pretty much take your doggie to any beach but a lot of those have now been taken over officially by the Dubai municipality, and no dogs allowed :( Its a shame, im sure all those people that don't pick up their dogs mess has ruined it for everyone :( Are there any beaches left here where you can take your pup for a little swim?

Its the water! The water is so hard here it is terrible for your hair! Get a water filter attached to your shower, it works wonders, i dont have hair fall or dry hair issues anymore :)

I agree with everythingnice! Sometimes it does get a bit irritating but gosh these girls have to deal with some rude people in their day, so i think when someone is just nice to them they just want to talk to you forever lol! Do what i do, take your Ipod, I generally chatter to them a bit in the beginning just to be nice then plug myself in and they stop talking to you lol! I always go to Tips and Toes in the Meadows the girls are really pleasant there :)

Post on Dubizzle but just make sure they have a residency visa or you can go through a promotion company as some provide long term sales people and you don't have to go through the rigmarole of doing all the paperwork etc.

Everyone is right, you must be registered with the ministry of education to do any kind of teaching here. They are getting very strict now, if it is a risk you are willing to take, then just be careful.

Hello! It is kind of a tough question to answer rgd the electric in particular: On average a 1 bedroom apartment in the summer costs AED 500 however different zones have different 'housing fees' also, this is the municipality monthly fee which is 5% of your annual rent cost. But different areas run on district cooling which is a completely different fee all together, sometimes it is on top of your monthly bill sometimes it is instead of. Plus you need to pay a deposit of AED 1000 to connect your electricity which you get back if you move. Check out the DEWA website or email them they might be able to give you more precise information.
