We are paying 145k in 4 cheques- it is a compound like villa with a shared pool and squash courts. Its just me and my husband and 2 dogs so we want to move somewhere a bit smaller as we don't really need 3 bedrooms. You guys are more than welcome to come have a look :)

Hey NinaSimone, I live in Jumeirah 2 and the maximum our bill has gotten to was 3K. We are currently looking to move out of our villa, it is a 3 bedroom with a maids room outside and a front and back garden, would you be interested to see it? Cheers

All i can say is this happened to me, but at my own wedding. The next day i realised that some "friends" moved themselves closer to the head table and in turn moved DH's family friends closer to the dance floor and therefore away from the rest of the family friends table/family. By then I was on my way to our honey moon and DH basically told me to S*d it and who cares. But yes, I was furious as we had gone to so much trouble to set up the seating plan, for someone to come on the day and decide they wanted to change the tables.. we basically had something like table 10 is sitting in the middle of table 1 and 2.. ARGGHH!!! :D

Hey Green-ish, Thanks a lot for asking! Haven't been in touch with Verity yet, discussed it with DH and he thinks that should be last resort so we are trying different techniques now. He only interacts with the male dog when he comes over to my DH and always on his terms so doesn't over stroke or anything and I do all the telling off if there is any, if he pees now around my DH, my DH will just walk off and clean up but wont say bad dog or anything like that, must say the peeing has reduced but I suspect we will get in touch with her very soon, just need my DH to convinced that is the only way to go, I need it to stop 100% not 80% of the time :)

Not at all! Never even shouted at him.. I will usually be the one who will sternly say NO to the doggie.. which is why we are baffled as to why he lets it out a bit everytime he approaches him.. Will definitely get in touch with Verity :)

He's actually quite old, he's 6 years old.. or so we think.. we adopted him so the exact age is a slight mystery.. We have another female dog who is a year and a half and we have never had that problem.. Yes he is very submissive and quite nervy by nature but hes been with us for over 4 months now and is definitely showing signs of confidence but the peeing still goes on sometimes! Thanks for your reply Green-ish :)

Well I own 2 dogs and I have also had neighbours complain about one of our dogs peeing on their small patch of grass outside their villa, she thought they were pooing (our dogs always poo in our garden), she screamed at my husband hysterically, she did stop when she realised it was only a pee and not a poo! We went over the next day with a box of chocolates and apologized.. can you imagine how sheepish she looked?? She started apologizing profusely for shouting at my husband! AND I always find poop dropped right outside my front door every single morning, so if im not careful I may just have a nice surprise when walking out.. do I complain? No it's just not worth it and I doubt your dog did his business right outside their front porch!!! lol:\: piece of advice? Ignore! ;)

Hi Beebers, this is an extract from the UAE Labour law.. Sick Leaves The employee is not entitled to any paid sick leave during the probation period. However, after a period of three months continuous service following the probation period, the employee is entitled to sick leave not exceeding 90 days whether continuous or not in respect of every year of service. However, the employee will only be entitled to leave wages during the first 45 days of sickness, as follows: (1) Full wage for the first 15 days. (2) Half wage for the next 30 days. (3) Any following period will be without wage. Goodluck ;-)

Hi Kelly1814, We live an in older villa and the only solution is to install the split unit ACs! although our current AC only needs to be on for a short period, cools the whole house down then we switch it off. We are currently looking to move out of our villa in Jumeirah.. let me know if you would be interested in having a look at it?

Okay I guess the best thing to do is to ring/visit the schools and ask what the entering age is.. I know people in the IB and British system and their kids all seem to be going in at 3 and a half years..:D

Hi DC, Most kids in Dubai get into school (KG1) at age 3 and a half.. Im not sure you have the option to keep you DS with you till he can get into grade 1? At 3 and a half I would imagine he wouldn't be the youngest but the median age really.. Nursery is usually before they go to KG1, usually 1 and a half and 2 year olds.. up to 3 and a bit I think.. Good luck!

My father has worked is banking for over 40 years and he always says.. no debt is good debt.. full stop.. cash is king always I've lived for over 25 years and can safely say that rules and regulations always change and it is usually not in our benefit specially when it comes to owning property here. Good luck!
