Chizz, Bread Basket is next to Pampanos. Re C4, we popped in tonight. Nice store, fairly small but very good selection on offer and their fruit and veg was far better quality than what we've come to expect in C4! Quite Spiineys-like in layout and appearance, I liked it. I noticed that some items were a tiny bit pricier than what I pay in City Center branch but I'm happy to pay that bit extra for the convenience and ease of being able to drop in en route home and also to park right outside the store :)

Hi Gray Girl, Amn't a fan of Mykonos - wasn't at all impressed by their food and I'm fairly easy to please. If you want to sit outside and don't want OTT extravagance, hows about some of the places at the Pearl? I like Carluccios and Liza - both options have wine on offer ;) Happy anniversary - we're celebrating our 10 year anniversary today funnily enough :)

Sorry to hear you've not had a good day Cymrae :( Funnily enough, its our 10th wedding anniversary today - yay for us! We are Scottish and got married in a beautiful castle - very romantic! Pretty chilly though in November so we had mulled wine, followed by champagne and then when everyone was suitably 'warmed up, we had smoked salmon, haggis, roast beef with all the trimmings and cranachan! Very yummy :)

Hey there, No problem at all, am very happy to help you. Here goes! - there are two bathrooms, one is ensuite for the master and the the other is just off the entrance hallway, next door to the kitchen. They each have shower heads which are over the baths. The ensuite bathroom is the larger of the two, its a good size, the other one is fairly small but perfectly adequate for guests or kiddies. Neither have any storage - cupboards etc. - there is a king size bed in the master bedroom and two single beds in each of the other bedrooms. The master bedroom has two bedside cabinets and a vanity unit with stool and mirror. The other rooms have one bedside unit and vanity unit and stool too. All have fitted wardrobes with mirror doors - there are lifts in each of the apartment blocks but these blocks are only 3 stories so not too high at all Feel free to fire away if you have more questions, don't waste your time with those "!%^& agencies! Yes mumofyum, I believe there are 2 bedroom apartments but can't tell you how much they are unfortunately. I have the number for Walid, he was the compound manager when we stayed there - 5554 0996.

Hi Disa1975, Hubby and I stayed in BHAR until June this year. We stayed in a 3 BR furnished apartment and yes, it cost us 12k per month. We don't have kids so not *entirely* qualified to say whether it would fit a family with 2 small kids or not, it would all depend on how much storage you needed for toys etc. Each bedroom has a fitted wardrobe and if there was just one single bed in each of the smaller bedrooms then I guess you could fit in plenty of kiddie stuff. Facilities were great on the compound and everyone shares the same amenities, regardless of whether you are in an apartment or a villa. I'd say it is a fabulous compound for families, especially those who have younger children. Hope that helps, let me know if you need any further info. I think you and your family woudl enjoy staying there :)

Hi Sunnie16, Lakeland in City Center Mall has plenty of equipment - as for the ingredients, I'm not so sure on that one. Perhaps the Mega Marts? Carrefour supermarkets have some ingredients but, not being a keen baker myself, I don't know how extensive these actually are. Happy baking :)

RachelA - so sorry to hear you have to move. I know that you really enjoy where you currently stay. We stay in the Pearl and it appears that animals aren't an issue in the towers. If you need names of real estate companies/agents I'd be happy to give you contact details. Hope you find somewhere that you like as much as your current home.

Krasch, have you tried the Diplomatic Club in West Bay? Not sure if their massages will be intense enough for your needs but they're fairly inexpensive and its a very nice place to spend a few hours (you can use their spa facilities after your treatment at no extra cost).

Sleepy Fish - here are directions to Party Kingdom from another post earlier this month: To Party Kingdom: Come down Salwa Road - the Ramada part, not the Decoration r/a part. Head down (so Ramada is on your right, then pass The Center). After the Center go under the Jaidah flyover and take a left at the roundabout underneath. This is the road where Party Kindgom is, but it's on the left so you will have to make a u-turn at the next roundabout. Stay on your right, because that roundabout is above the underpass. U-turn at roundabout, then head back toward the roundabout under Jaidah flyover, and the parking lot where Party Kingdom is is BEFORE you get back to the Jaidah flyover. It's a small set of shops - Party Kingdom is on the right, and there's a QNB ATM in the middle of the parking lot. Also worth a try is Events on 1st floor of Royal Plaza. We were there tonight and they had a rack of costumes for young children. Lots of accessories too.

Kitsune - here is a link to a thread which mentions Mesaimeer Clinic - it has a vaccination clinic: http://www.expatwoman.com/qatar/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=152029 Alternatively you could try Doha Clinic or Al Ahli hospital, both of which provide vaccinations. Hope that helps.

Hi xoxo. Up until last summer when I moved to Qatar, I had spent all my life in a town about 40 kms from Glasgow. Studied and worked there since I was 17 so feel qualified to say its a great place, I miss it dearly. In general terms, as everyone says, it has good and bad areas. Housing is expensive but plentiful and if you don't want to commit to buying, renting is an option too. Like anywhere, the further from the city center you live then the more you get for your money. Transport is great - trains and buses make it relatively easy to get around within Glasgow itself and travelling outwith. Schools - no kids so can't comment on this one! Shopping - fantastic shopping, heaps better than Edinburgh Nightlife - loads of great restaurants and bars Situation for visiting other parts of Scotland - Glasgow is ideally placed. A couple of hours drive in either direction takes you to some beautiful places, be it the Borders or the Highlands Anyway, this is just a quick overview of the main things that have sprung to mind. Let us know what else you need to know, your post didn't give much away.
