I have the iphone 3G, not even the 3GS, so the latest software and some of the apps are no longer working. my understanding is that the 5 is not in the pipeline any time soon.....

virgin is asking something like 6300 for the 64gb which is the model i am after......if i was in the uk and to order online, i would be paying around 4k.i am looking into a deal which is offering it for usd900....but am a bit wary of going via an unknown route!!

worth checking on dubizzle if you dont mind 2ND hand. for example, i am about to sell our rattan house furniture but havent taken the pics yet! we have 2 loungers and a rectangular dining table with 8 chairs. I have often seen garden furniture advertised!

we went to Amala, their indian on thursday evening - the best fine indian cuisine i have eaten! its a aed255 pp menu, but you can order as many dishes as you want from the a la carte menu, in unlimited quants!! interesting starters, and a mix of curries, things from the tandoor and biryanis....delish and yes the interior is stunning, and has the same sort of dancing fountain that the Burj has....

best place to stay i think is the Tintagel, ex presidents house, owned by the Paradise Road people (and that is a store definitely worth visiting!!) great restaurant as well. they also have a property in bentota, the Villa Bentota. its a fair drive there though, ie 3-4 hrs, although by the time you are going the new highway *should* be open. there is always the air taxi which is 15 mins. enjoy!!

go and see them and show them what you're not happy with. most good salons will be happy to fix it free of charge to keep you as a customer...but dont leave it too long as really you should have gone in straight away if you werent happy...good luck <em>edited by JulesLC on 12/10/2011</em>

yes I have taken it up with the theatre as I think they mis-sold it, they need to state clearly that this is not fun for all the children! such a shame as i love going to the theatre and now my kids have a negative impression of it! it was only half full yest...

mee too swiss sandy, i loved it, especially combined with Vietnam!! you can take a boat upriver to Siem reap (we flew) which also looks really interesting! we went to killing fields nr siem reap, agree sad :(

Hi - are you just staying in Phnom Penh or travelling around? We did a day there only and that was kind of enough - we had travelled in from Vietnam on the Mekong, did a day seeing the sights then went up to siem reap for angkor wat which was well worth it. think max you would do there is a couple of nights. the most interesting and sad place to visit is the pol pot museum ie the old prison where the kmer roughe tortured their prisoners. on the whole cambodia is extremely interesting, although i still got a sense of sadness there as really the whole kmer rouge nightmare is still very recent, so most people you meet lost family or friends at some point. all the more reason to go and help the country get back on its feet though, and it really is beautiful. great food also BTW and great shopping! you will have a great time i'm sure. and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

My bro went to school in Cranleigh, i went to a scholl in nearby Bramley. Its a pretty village (although have to say this was some time ago!!!) but it's generally regarded as a lovely part of surrey within the commuter belt. nearest big town would be guildford i think which has some great shops. Godalming also nearby. Nice walks and stuff around there, should be fine I would think. Good luck with the op, hope its nothing too tricky...

sorry to disappoint but it's definitely not suitable, not even for 5 yr olds i would think! I wasted AED520 yesterday to stay all of 5 mins in the show - its a weird kind of avant guarde interpretation.....not fun at all. My friend who stayed a bit longer but still left before the end said there were none of the songs you would expect, and at one point they even had a knife out to slit the tiger's throat. Weird weird, so so disappointing esp as both DH and I left work early to take kids there who were super excited expecting to march with the elephants and sing along to all the songs!

Emirates British nursery is still a way off, at best sep 2012 they told me last week. I think you are probably thinking of the Wonder Years, that has just opened in between Motor City and vict Heights. There was a previous thread on it.

they have all revised their schemes as of Oct 1, so they are all on a par now (ie its harder to earn miles now!!) the banks that offer it are Citibank, ENBD and Emirates Islamic Bank. all much of a muchness now, although they have differing joiing offers - best way is to look at each of their websites for details.

oh i know how you feel! we're having an overhaul of our garden at the moment, also in saheel. we have put in a new pool through absolute pools, maybe they can help with the retiling (for fibreglass pools though) and our landscaping company is doing all the retiling/paving etc, they may be able to tile your pool as well if you have tiles. they maintain our irrigation and all the rest as well - we use Dreams Flowers, call Wasim on 050 886 0931. re internal stuff, we have a maintenance contract with Al Hilal, call imran on 050 378 4764. we own though, so not sure who is responsible if you're a tenant....good luck in getting it sorted

Moonkitty, your son sounds the same as mine! The only difference is that I genuinely think he is tired during the day waking so early, but he doesnt want to sleep either in the day...he is asleep by 7.15.....thinking of adopting your strategy!

thanks ladies. early is 5am this morning, in my book anything after 6am is acceptable as we all know little people wake up early! his clock is set to trun to sunshine at 6am....HAK, we also say to him when it's still dark then it's still sleep time. we do have a stair gate which is another option, it will just be a noisier one as he will scream the house down (tried it a couple of times a few months ago but DH in particular counldnt take it!!)!! but may be nicer than locking him in which I am not sure I can bring myself to do.... KathyT, up until a few months ago, he was sleeping 12 hrs no problem...we have adopted the same strategy as you in that we try and go with the flow, but honestly its wearing us down! If I wasnt working it would be less of an issue, but I have to financially, and my job is client facing, so not great if you're knackered!!!

Our once great sleeper is now up super early, which leaves us all exhausted including him! DH and I work full time, he is at nursery 5 days a week with his little brother, so we all need to sleep well at night! this has been going on for a few months now....he has a sleep clock ie stars vs sunshine, understands eprfectly what is expected of him, ie to stay quietly in his room until the sunshine comes on and its time to wake up, but he just doesnt do it!!! have tried returning him multiple times with no attention, but still no luck. Am now thinking last resort is to lock his door and only open it when it's time. Bit like cry it out when they are younger and still in a cot! Anyone tried this?? I think we are going to need nerves of steel to do it! Any thoughts welcome. thanks

Hi - I had my 2nd baby with him last year, and i still go to him as my gynae. he is extremely pro natural birth but is equally supportive of a c section if a mother has issues with a normal delivery. having had a normal delivery with No 1, I was all set for a quick 2nd birth, but DS2 wasn't playing ball - he was breech and refused to turn (actually the placenta was in the way it turned out) so he did my c section. he is great though, wouldnt hesitate to recommend him. he is at health bay now and delivers at City.

i saw them recently in Hamleys, its called the cozy coupe. our 2 DS absolutely love them, they ride in it, push it, push each other in it, climb on it, you name it!! its around 400-500 i think, but a great investment.....Toys R Us also have them in stock at times, as does babyshop, but they sell out super quick
