Both my DS have gone through blossom village (1 at school now, the other will start in sep) and have always been happy. Lovely teachers and class size never been an issue. As someone mentioned, not all kids come every day so all children are never there at the same time. For the water play etc other floating helpers come to assist. I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Good luck!!!

I have been very happy at Blossom Village(which. In my opinion is far better than the original Blossom). Can also recommend the new Emirates British Nursery in motor city - my 2 did easter camp there and i was very impressed. Good luck!

I have been in touch with emaar on this and they seem a bit useless about it all to be honest! This morning was the worst ever, so the sand cutting doesnt seem to make any difference! If anybody would like to share any secret ways with me, then please email me on jules dot ward at hotmail dot com would be much appreciated as trying to do drop off at school times 2 as one at school, and one at nursery then on to work!! Its killing me! Thanks

Kidville is sadly closing on the 30th. There is also the new Emirates British Nursery which is amazing. As they are not full, they might be open to it. If your nannys holidays falls in the summer break, then they run week by week summer camps

Hi, i work full time as does DH and our solution has been to hire a live in helper and a live out driver. DS goes to kings, and little DS to nursery but will thankfully start at kings as well in sep. honestly as much as its difficult to adjust to live in help, in my opinion it is the only way to do it. She helps get the house and all else sorted, so when i come home from work, i can focus fully on the kids. We have worked out a rota for school lunches and snacks which she prepares in the morning, so that all runs smoothly. She and driver will do both pick and drop off. Without live in help, i think it woild be much tougher, and you have the added challenge of finding a babysitter for when you want to get out in the evenings. It does take some adjusting, but if you find the right one, it can work well Advice in finding one? Go with your gut feel, and refs are good to get. Also try to find one that genuinely loves children - all will say they do, but if you were to come home early unannunced one day you might well find your kids plonked in front of the TV! Ours loves playing with them and chooses to do that over everything else! You also need to make sure that the person you hire understands you, so you can communicate on the phone, and that she will understand your guidelines when it comes to handling the children. Good luck! I do think that if you find the right people, it is relatively easy to be a working mum here! Ps we are very happy with kings - ds is fs1. If the new school is anything like the original, which they are really trying to make sure is the case, it will be great. We live in the ranches and love it, loads of great parks!, edited by JulesLC on 02/04/2013

Hi, does anyone know (i know that there are a lot of children performing from here) if the show is suitable for a 3yr old? I called the box office and they were suitably vague and said its for all the family. Having had a bad experience in the past with older DS, i dont want to take them to something that is not age appropriate...any insights would be gratefully recieved! Thanks

Hi, i didnt see what went on the other day, but just wanted to say that we used them the other day for a pre turning on the ac service, as we had done the full one a year ago. No complaints. Im not sure if they had an over zealous sales person who didnt really get the rules if the forum or what - but they arent the first nor will they be the last! Most important thing is they do a good job in my opinion edited by JulesLC on 12/03/2013

I heard last night that some jewelry worth quite a bit was stolen from a house. Apparently the house had been under surveillance as it happened just after the owner left, and it seems as they may have had inside help as they knew where to look. So maybe that is why they are really being strict on who is working within saheel. Still i have not heard this directly from the person it happened to, if it did indeed happen!! I do wish they would circulate something though, as it might remind people to be more vigilant....

I have tried every brand under the sun, including the super expensive, and have to say i dont think there is a correlation between price and whether it works. I am now super happy with an organic skincare range made locally that is very simple yet really works. Check out Shirley Conlon Organics, she is on FB, and regualrly sells at Arte and Ripe. I am converted!

Honestly its a juggling act and you feel like you never stop! I work full time and have 2 DSs and wish i had an alternative likeso many lucky ladies here! I finally decided that its better to book those sorts of things once a week or when needed after work, rather than use up precious weekend time. We have a lovely helper, so if i do a salon trip or run errands, she will bath them, and i will be home in time to read them a story. Its def not ideal, but you have to just cope as best you can, and not beat yourself up. It is important for us to have some time out too, and i would rather have the weekends clear so that we can do really fun stuff. I think we are under enough pressure from work, family etc, that we need to give ourselves a break

Meagle - thats a bit of a sweeping statement! I would never sell a car seat that has been in an accident, for exactly that reason, but there are plety of used car seats, like mine, that have NEVER been in an accident, are like new as we keep them spotless, and are half the price of a new, highly rated from a safety standpoint car seat! Agree you have to trust the seller, but to say all second hand car seats are death traps is unfair!

Kings is off next week as well, it was bliss this morning! Couldnt work out why JESS being on half term would have such an impact on saheel gate 1, given repton not off either - i think it must be GEMS DSO then that clogs up the traffic!!!!

I also saw a baby there on thursday - it clearly states no under 5s and the show is not suitable for young children - what annoys me is why are they not stricter at the door? Ie refuse them entry? I def dont want to hear crying babies in that sort of setting. Also strange how many people continued to take phots using a flash, despite being repeatedly told not to! edited by JulesLC on 10/02/2013

We also just got back from the 6pm in S1 (silver) Excellent show, really loved it. We got there just gefore 5, and from the area we came from inside the trade centre, it was easy, got the 1st row behind gold. The guys scanning tickets etc were extremely efficient, didnt have to show any ID though. Views are good i think from all over, so dont stress too much. Enjoy it - i think this is my fav show so far.... ETA food and toilets also seemed to be no problem this evening, or maybe i was just lucky! edited by JulesLC on 07/02/2013

Irrespective of what the road is called, are you referring to the widening of the road construction? Hopefully that will be over soon, and we will have easier access out of AR in the mornings! Am fed up of queueing for ages every day just to exit :( Otherwise construction of casa just past palmera on the left, behind the blue boarding, will go on a long time, and yes i dint envy those in palmera....emaar can be so frustrating sometimes

There's a new shop called rumble cycles, behind mall of the emirates. They are the dealer for headbanger motorbikes, and also sell great gear. I got a pair of kevlar trousers that are fantastic. They also have helmets, and are expecting lots more stuff in their next shipment, theyre relatively new. They have afacebook page with directions.

I know, had they closed that R/A it would have been a disaster!!! I got onto Emaar then as well. I think they just need lots of free flowing exits onto a widened al qudra road, which was supposed to have happened years ago! How long have we been living with the unfinished road?!!

Problem is that if you're in saheel, there's no real alternative, apart from doing the whole perimeter road and coming out by studio city, which might in fact be quicker!!!
