For romance and an old paris type feel, Albergo wins hands down. Go for an executive suite with alovely terrace. Service and food outstanding, small pool and lovely roof terrace. Tip- contruction is going on at the back of the hotel, so ask for a front facing room, and do negociate the rate. Not cheap but so worth it. Otherwise, the Phoenicia or the Vendome are both good, le grey is excellent location wise but we found it a bit cold and full of gulf visitors at the time. Four seasons is also in a lovely location overlooking zaytuna bay. Hope that helps, enjoy!

We're in saheel in AR - the only time it is annoying is the 24 hr race, which i hate. We go away for a night then asi find it really disturbing. Am all for 24 hr racing, just not in a residential community!

Well i will put forward a different view - devoured all 3 on holiday and totally loved them for what they were!!! I have read far worse, and if you buy something like this, you shouldn't expect literary genius. It is however, a great page turner, and a very easy read. Enjoy it!!

FD11, yes i am talking about the dolphinarium at the creek, not atlantis, although that expeirence is also on the list!!! Nicedaynat - thanks. Yes i have to say i have wondered about the dolphins too. It is def in the entertainer. Yur poor DS, hope he is better now. We have a pool at home and use MAK pools for maintenance. Apart from the regular testing they do on a weekly basis, we also ask them to do full bacterial test. Am sure you could get them to do the necessary.

No as i understand it, each membership is for a family, and you pay extra for classes, which are not cheap! The membership gets you passes to the gym and discounts etc....and you cant do classes without being a member

We do, and we have minimal noise. We are near gate 1 once the road bends to the right, so we're actually the furthest point from the roundabout. There is a large landscaped area between us and the perimeter road, full of trees that pretty much block the view. We also have a fountain in the pool that cancels out any noise at busier times. In our area, if we get noise, its usually in the late afternoon, depending on how the wind is blowing. If you were closer to gate 2 or 3 however, i think it would be very noisy. I know people who are on side streets near those ates, and their gardens are much noisier than ours, so i really think it depends on the villa. As others have said, go at differnet times to see what its like. What we really like is the privacy, as there is noone overlooking our house. We opted for this rather than park as there i feel every passer by stares in at your house. Good luck!

Simpleasabc, i work so unfortunately weekends are our only option. Am thinking that this weekend will see the second mass exodus of people leaving for the summer, so may be calmer! Might leave it till some point in august, but i do want to avoid the rush pre term starting.... Skiingfreak - simpleasabc makes a good point re pest control. I would get a contract personally, we use national pest control and they come in quarterly. I would also give your house a deep clean before moving in a well, if you do a search on here you will see some recommendations. Also worth checking on general maintenance contracts, and a/c deep cleaning.... Exciting times!!

Had both a z3 and a 6 series bmw here, no issues with either. Am now newly driving an a5 cab, no issues either. Have to say the bmw idrive is slightly easier to use though than the audi equiv....you'll enjoy either im sure

Honestly i think most schools are around the same level of 32-34 for fs1, with the exception of a few that are in the 40s. The difficulty you will have will be finding alternative places at this stage. Are you in dubai already? Good luck

What this family as well as the other families who lost children must be going through is incomprehensible, i wish them all the strength in the world to be able to carry on after something like this, RIP the little ones

Hi, we have booked Heritage Le Telfair for the end of july. We have a 2&3 year old, and they have a kids club from 2....i would think yours could be counted as 2! Best of all they have a great promotin of buy one get one free on rooms! They interconnect, so bargain! I have also been advised that this part of the coast is generally calmer as other parts of the island can be much windier at that time of year. Have been a couple of times to the island pre kids, and i reckon you cant go wrong!

Yes, we also have ours off if noone is in the room. We have made 3 big changes to allow this: 1. We installed ceiling fans - huge help 2. We had our A/C properly serviced by saniserve, rather than the usual maintenance 3. We have shaded our entire roof with shade sails....invisible from the street, but really helps to keep the house cool :)

Hi debsdebs, glad you went to visit, and you already know my thoughts!! Re the mgt, debbie has been there ever since mine have been going there, over a year now, and zahra the owner has been there obviously right from the start 3 years ago. What i like is that they do actually take note of any suggestions raised, for example we had a couple of instances where gates were left open (always by parents!) and DS1 ran out unattended, this was when they had 2 gates only. Zahra herself responded as well as debbie, and they installed the 3rd gate you now see on the outside, as well as the internal fences around the toddler classes. This problem should never happen as parents should close the gate behind them, but so many waltz through without looking back....so at least with 3 gates it minimises the risk! So management wise i have always felt them to be responsive.... You should have visited tomorrow when Dubai Drums are in action!!! Anyway, good luck with your decisiion, you have my no in case you have any more questions!!
