Hi, I remember you guys! The festival city arte souk is this weekend (I think!) , but we will be at the expatwoman craft fair this saturday at Wellington School and then back at Time Square the following Friday. Glad you enjoyed the cake and we will have plenty with us this saturday and the following friday (just incase you want another!) Oh and they keep really well and you can freeze them.......... :) Can you provide details of the craft fair tomorrow? I looked for it on this site but didn't see anything...

We too have tiny bugs in our kitchen and dining room. They look like tiny sand colored ants and no matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of them. Even found one crawling out of the keys on the computer keyboard! ICK!

Mothercare usually has them but I also just purchased some just slightly larger ones from Home Centre at MCC last week (fits no problem in clothes sized 12months). Hope you find what you need.

Massive difference. Prker pens are what we used as kids for our "best writing" and cost very little. Mont blanc can be from 1,000 - 10,000 for a pen. My receint pen was AED 2,450 from Mont Blanc Bur Juman. Wow. May have been wrong about the Parker (couldn't remember the name exactly but thought it started with a P). I know he said Mont Blanc but had no idea on the cost! Maybe I'd be better off buying elsewhere and having it shipped? Seems like everything is marked up so much here.

I'm looking for a gift for my DH, either a Mont Blanc (Generation) or a Parker pen. I know he wants one that's blue with gold accents. I've never shopped for anything like this before. If you can recommend somewhere that has a good selection and reasonsble prices I'd really appreciate it! TIA!

We bought one of the larger Skip Hop bags from Bumblee in the Dubai Mall. Lots of storage and a compartment in the button with a removable insulted bag for lo's food. A huge added bonus is having straps to secure and hand it from the stroller. Wouldn't buy a bag without that feature.

Hi there, also from the States so having a condensation dryer was new for me too. Have had mine a few years now and they are great. Not like home of course but they get the job done. Lots of settings and I can always get our clothing completely dry.

My LO recently went to Build-A-Bear. At the end of the experience the gentleman who helped her insisted on taking about 5 photos of my DD with her new pal. I guess it just made me feel uneasy and now I wish I would have questioned what the purpose was of the photos. I know I'm probably over-reacting but where I come from it's considered rude to take photos of someone else's child, even at a shop. Is this usually what happens at Build-A-Bear? This was our first visit so I have nothing to compare it to. Would love to hear your thoughts...

Hey Chocs01, thanks for your reply. That's really good advice, I hadn't thought of alternative therapies. I will look into that this morning. He's definitely gotten worse overnight. We have a custom made wheelchair for our other dog but she really hates it. And honestly she doesn't seem bothered by not being able to use her back legs. She could keep up with our other dog just fine when he could run. :(

Hi, my DD and I did a 16hr flight when she was 22 months, so quite a bit older than your LO but I wanted to share my experience just the same. She didn't have her own seat but we ended up in a row where there was a seat available and she ended up laying half on my lap and half on the empty seat and sleeping for 12+ hours. I am so thankful we didn't have a bulkhead seat as she would have been so uncomfortable as not able to stretch out. I packed her a little backpack with lots of snacks and lots of little toys and put it under the seat in front of me so it was handy.

We just went through this same thing and momof3 is correct. You are responsible until the new sponsor processes her visa or she exits the country. When I spoke with Immigration about our situation they said that we were also responsible for any overstay charges (once you cancel her visa she has a 30 day grace period) - any extra days she is here after that will be charged to you. You can call Immigration, they were very helpful over the phone and I can't remember what the charges were off the top of my head but I'm thinking it was around 125dhs for the 1st day and then additional 20dhs per day each day after that. If you report her as absconded you will not receive your 2000dhs deposit back. If you report her as absconded, and they find her and deport her, u will then get your 2k back it happened to us. Someone at Immigration told us the 2k is not refunded as it's used to pay for her ticket home once they do find her. Not that surprising that you get different answers depending on who you talk to. Glad you got your deposit back. :)

We just used Churchill again about 2 weeks ago. I would highly recommend them! They are professional and always arrive on time. They've cleaned our very large area rug a few times and this last time I also had them clean my glider (rocking chair) which hadn't been cleaned in years. They spent so much time on it, it looks brand new. I'm extremely impressed considering how dirty it actually was. Their minimum is charge 250dhs.

Hi Mols, if you are speaking of this Angel Care Monitor http://www.angelcare-monitor.com/International/en/products/angelcare-monitor-AC401 then I yes, I would highly recommend it! Our LO grew so quickly and we had to move him into his room at 4 weeks. Just knowing that I could wake in the middle of the night and look at the handheld unit and see the little pendulum swinging was so worth it for me. When they are so little you wake up all the time checking on them and I never would have gotten any sleep if I had to go into his room each time. I've noticed that I'm also especially grateful for it now at 5 months, he loves to roll over onto his tummy and stay that way. With this monitor I don't have to worry about him doing that. The only issue I've had is that I've found the range isn't very good but to me that's a small price to pay for peace of mind. I should also had that we've had a few false alarms - where it doesn't sense movement and after 20 seconds the unit in the baby's room and the handheld unit both alarm. Each time we race frantically to our LO's room thankfully only to find that he's moved himself as far over in the crib as possible. A quick adjustment to his positioning fixes the situation. Not fun being woken up by the alarm but that's why you have it - just in case. Edited to add that the Angelcare has a great temperature monitor. Not only do you always know what the room temp is but you can set upper and lower limits so if the temp changes to out of those ranges, an alarm will sound on the handheld unit. I would definitely buy this again. The only reason I can think that more people don't have it is that they just don't know about it? I only heard about it because a friend of mine was using one, which had me start doing some research. There is also something similar but portable called the "Snuza Halo" that clips onto the baby's diaper for use in a bassinet, carseat, etc. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Snuza-Halo-Baby-Movement-Monitor/dp/B002ITOC7S All the best of luck to you.
