If my understanding is correct, Ramadan moves forward 2 weeks each year so as the others have said, it is supposed to start 1 Aug. usually it's 10 days so this year we expect Ramadan will begin beginning of August.

Forever 21, I'm really sorry for this. I think that you are a strong person, don't be too hard with yourself. Don't hesitate to answer no if you don't feel well there. If I were you, I won't accept this job. Big hugs

My friends did the swimming with the Dolphins and really liked it. You have to book it, it's almost 900 dirhams per person. But I agree with Chocs01, we've also with the same friends to Musundam and saw the Dolphins there, and I appreciated much more the second. We did also the desert safari, it was very nice. You can use the entertainer voucher for that. There is also burj khalifa, the best time is sunset but you have to book very early. Dinner near Dubai Fountain, but I don't like the restaurants there. Visit of the spice souk Dinner at madinat jumeirah with a view of Burj el Arab Tea at Burj el Arab

I would like to leave Dubai but not because of Dubai, only because I didn't find a job here. If I have a job here, I would be very happy to stay here. What I prefer in Dubai is the presence of so many different cultures.

Hi, unfortunately I can't help but before calling a lawyer, are you sure he is serious. A request for divorce does not happen like this, there must be a reason, maybe you can make him change his mind. Good luck

= 96253.000000000000000n Then i read somewhere that in UAE law nationality is determined by the father's nationality. So although I should have no problems getting a British passport for future baby, and they will be British in UK law, how will future baby's nationality be regarded legally in the UAE given that fb's father cannot pass on british nationality according to UK law!?!? And does it matter? I'm a bit confused?? Thanks According to me, this UAE rule applies only for the granting of UAE nationality. What is important is whether your children are considered as British according to British law, which is the case.

Hey, its worth it. When I was pregnant with my first, I spent on furtune on mediocre maternity clothes-it was before Destination maternity opened. Now with my 2nd, thank god the store is here :) Their stuff is nice and reasonably priced-much better than other places! I confirm. I bought few items from Mothercare, the quality was very bad. At Destination Maternity, you have a larger choice and nice clothes. I've been near this shop this week and there was no sale.

Yep shes the march holiday one.... After looking quickly the texts were made on a saturday evening when she's telling me she's going round her friends room for dinner... so she s cleaning somewhere thats lives near me ...I have his name and number.... My dh has text her to say he wants her back saturday morning at 8 am as she needs to clean and help out as his away. and ill make up excuses and keep her in on saturday night so it messes up her plans for cleaning somewhere else. Now her visa is an abu dhabi one do we need to cancel it and take her away from that airport? i just book her flight and escort her to the airport. Do u need to inform the police or anything i dont want to do it all wrong ? Thanks for ure input ladies. Hi, I've just read that you have new issues with your maid. Unfortunately, you will not be reimbursed the visa fees except the dirhams 2,000 deposit. Regarding the cancellation of the visa, you have to call the immigration office and ask them if you can cancel it at the Dubai airport or you need to do it in Abu Dhabi. This is the phone number of DNRD: 800-5111. Maybe they will not be able to answer since they're competent only for Dubai but maybe they can provide you with the phone number of the competent authority in Abu Dhabi. I found this number for Abu Dhabi Naturalization & Residence Directorate (ADNRD) +971-2-4462 244. In Dubai, you do not need to inform the police. You just need to buy a flight ticket home, then you can to the immigration office of the airport (or of the town) to cancel her visa, then you send her in the plane. If she refuses to take the plane, you can call the police.

I don't know her personnaly but Dr. Rita is one of my friends' daughter doctor, my friend told me she's good but too quick. She accepts emergency cases. So I think that if you call her now, she will receive your child quickly.

I passed it, it's very easy. You have the right to make 12 or 13 mistakes, that's a lot and really I cannot imagine that it is possible that a person makes so many mistakes, the questions are so easy.

Regarding the one-month salary that has to be paid to the maids, there is no obligation to provide her with 2-month salary. The law provides for one-month salary, that's all. For example, if she goes on holidays in November, then you have to pay her only one-month salary corresponding to the duration of the paid holidays.

Yep thanks for ure input i am right. If we renew her contract November 2011 she wanted the 13 th month pay and cash for ticket home. Then in March 2012 she wants another 13 th month pay and us to buy her a ticket home. When she should wait till November 2012 for 13 th month salary and ticket home. Ive no said no u will not get holiday in November and march.if i renew ure contract in November 2011 i will keep your holiday pay and buy u a ticket in March and pay ure 13 th month salary. when u want to go. she continues to argue with me. To tell u the truth after all this i seriously can not be bothered to renew it in November. If she leaves in November and goes to a new sponsor do u still give them cash for the flight home that they are not taking? is that up to the individual. Yes, you have to pay her a one-way flight even if she finds a new sponsor. You can either pay her the ticket or the equivalent in cash of the price of the ticket.

Do you have any evidence that she stole money from you? If yes, go to the police and tell them what she did. Did she gave you back the money? And what about her ex new employers? Of course, if you have no legal obligation to help her, don't bother yourself.

She began with us in November 2010 so her contract will be up november 2011 thats when she wants months holiday pay and money for the air ticket home..(as she doeant want to go home) plus she says she wants to go to phillipines in march 2012 so then shes entilted to another months holiday and pay and ticket home... i said well if u want to go home in march we are not paying u holiday money in the november we will pay for it all in the march. i know its a long way off but shes sure she is right and this is wat her freind is getting. Do u have to pay them the airfare money if they are not going home ? from ure response i seem to be right ...Thanks KB75 yes, if they do not go home and have completed their one-year contract, they're entitled to be paid the airfare money plus one-month. You can pay her these amounts in November but in March she has to pay her own ticket and she's not entitled to have paid holidays. She's not right, you can call the ministry of Labor to check but I'm sure that she's wrong.

If I understand, you hired her in November 2009, so in November 2010, you had to payer her a ticket home plus one month salary but she preferred going on holidays in March 2011. And now, she wants you to pay: (i) one ticket plus one month salary for November 2010 (the one that you didn't pay her in November because she was not going on holidays), plus (ii) one ticket plus one month salary for March 2011 (because she's going on holidays this March), and plus (iii) one ticket plus one month salary for November 2011 (at the expiry of her current contract). If I understand well, sorry to say that she thinks you're stupid. You have to pay her only (i) one ticket plus one month salary for November 2010 (the one that you didn't pay her in November because she was not going on holidays), plus (ii) one ticket plus one month salary for November 2011 (at the expiry of her current contract). That's all, anything beyond that is a gift, not contractual.

Have you renewed her contract only for the period from March to November? Is it possible? According to the sample contract in Dubai, you have to pay one ticket home and one month salary each year only.

Apparently, the rules have changed. In January, I went to the Al Safa public clinic to have a health card for my former maid and I was told that the costs incurred by foreign people in public hospitals will be the same, whether or not they have a health card. No one would get a health care card if this was true, they're 350AED a year. This is wrong. I had my bill cut in half because of my card a month of so ago. That's why they told me that it's not necessary to pay for a health card since there is no discount anymore for the health card holders. They also told me that it's a new regulation. If you discover that what I was told is wrong, please let me know. Thanks edited by KB75 on 11/03/2011

To be honest, I was chocked by their interpretation of the contract because even in my country (where employment law is very protective of the employee), if you terminate the contract of an employee who committed serious breach of the contract (like her), you don't have to pay him any compensation. You're right for the costs, in 2 months she costs us more than dirhams 20,000 (all the items that she broke at home not included). I would have preferred spending this money on holidays ou anything else. edited by KB75 on 11/03/2011

One way ticket home. Don't owe her anything but that. Definitely help her pack her suitcase, as VP says. Or at least stand in the doorway while she packs it herself. Unfortunately, we had to pay for it. We were told by the immigration office that we have to pay the one-month salary when sending her back home. The contract used in Dubai provides so and it does not make any difference whether you terminated her contract because she refused to comply with her obligations under the contract or not.

We use Wall Street Exchange, apparently they have a very interesting exchange rate, and the commission for the tranfer of money to Europe is dirhams 45. It's better to bring cash. We have never been charged by our bank in home country for such transfers.

I had the same problem with my maid, she was lying all the time(In all my life, I've never met a liar like her), she refused to do what I was asking her to do, she spent her time sleeping or calling her friends. I cancelled her visa 2 months after I recruited her. I lost a lot of money but now I feel better than when she was here. And I am very happy to do the housework myself. If you cancel her visa, you have to pay her a ticket home plus one-month salary. Better to send her immediately after the cancellation of the visa since you will be still responsible for her unless she has a new sponsor or leaves the country.

Hi everybody, Thanks a lot for your advice . You were right since the beginning. We sent her back home. And now, I discovered new information about her which make me think that it was the right decision and regret that I haven't taken this decision before (being specified that she worked for us only 2 months). I was informed that she is looking for another job here in Dubai, and that she has a contact with a French woman. I hope that she will not be hired.

Hi, I was told that the health card is not necessary anymore, since the prices to be paid by the patients are the same, with or without the health card.
