I wish I could adopt the little dog . But I already have a rescued dog in my small apartment and she gets really depressed with other dogs around her. Have you found anyone to adopt her yet?

I like the African stalls , Moroco ,and the Iranian one for tasty Iranian delights . My biggest recommendation for you is to be there sharp at 4:30 or even earlier. I was there two weeks ago and at 4:30 one of the parkings was halfway full and the police made us park in parking 5 and had to park far from the gate. And write down the parking number , I almost lost my car :D:D

Just asked HR if tomorrow is off for us, and the answer was NO.....fantastic news :-( If its announced as public holiday are companies not obliged to participate? On holidays as such , companies would be fined if they don't participate. Its a public holiday , eveyone must be off ....

umm el quwain has a lake? Is it nice? There is a lake right after Bracuda on the same side of the road. Its need 5 minutes drive into the desert from the main road. But its isolated and absolutely beautiful.

you will get over them ,over time . It is always easier to get over someone if they have hurt you and if you regret being with them. But if you still love the person , just don't be hard on your self and don't expect the pain to disappear over night. The best way is to stop contacting that person and stop doing things that would remind you of him. Delete the pictures , hide the gifts and anything around you that would remind you of your memories . . What if Pieces of him lives with u (DD), & you can see everyday his eyes, his smile, his dimples... all in her. D u still can forget!!! you will never forget . Its like anything else that happens in life. After a while it fades away , you will always remember him , but after you are over him , you wont remember him as often and as strongly . The pain would be much lesser.

The best way is to stop contacting that person and stop doing things that would remind you of him. Once you can do that , that means you are emotionally ready to start moving on , then you should find a distraction , some kind of a new hobby !!! There is no formula that works for everybody , I don't know your personality and I can only tell you what works for me .when I want to get over someone , I find myself a new personal project to focus . something like loosing weight and doing exercises ,or renovating my flat , giving my self a new makeover with shopping and new hair colour or something. It makes me remember that life has not stopped and there are still things that would cheer me up and make me happy . Believe me when I tell you , I know what you are going trough ,because I have been there more than once. Good Luck . P.S. Thanks for you replies ladies . I am into sales and marketing , I am not British , but I have been to UK before. They say its a difficult market , but I am a super positive person and I believe that things happen to you wants you believe in them . Not being British could actually be an advantage since I am bilingual and I speak Farsi and English !!! I am happily employed in Dubai and for me applying in UK is like buying a lottery ticket , I either win or if I don't , I don't lose anything :)

Well, I started this post to get some advice from mature single or married women of EW. It seems that it has turned to a war between to of the ladies though. I believe marriage like most other things in life is a personal choice. We do not have to necessarily agree with other’s choice but we must respect them.@ Tallybalt: Just because someone thinks marriage is a piece of paper and has no value, doesn’t make your marriage meaningless.@ gleekfamily: And just because some people believe marriage is the bases of family does not make your family unstable or illegitimate. Personally, I admire people who stay together and raise their children, without being married. In such a case it is only love that is keeping your family together not a legal obligation. Again I must insist, I have nothing against the concept of marriage and I do believe that for most of us marriage is our way of making our love official.

I think marriage or divorce is both paper works. But, don’t we buy houses and cars on paper? Don’t we register our names on papers? In this world, we need papers to prove our decisions are firm, to make things official. Everything in this world must be documented and signed to become official in the yes of public. My ex boyfriend asked me this on our first date, he asked me if I believed in marriage or not. I told him that marriage is just a piece of paper , but it is what makes people's love for each other official. It is like buying a house on a plot. I might give you my house on a plot, but if anyone questions our decision, or if anything goes wrong ,what is the proof that I gave you my house??? He wrote this poem for me then: When I give you my love, like a house on a plot, do I have to be your spouse to show that I love you lot? You were a veil and I still see beauty in your eyes, I am afraid you might have failed in that beauty to disguise. ...so how come you two split up? He had to go back to UK and the only way for me to go with him was for us to get married. And I never wanted to get married for the wrong reasons..... still keep in touch? has he moved on? are you still in love with him? Well , its been few months now , and no we are not in touch , He is with my friends and I know how he is doing .Still in love ??? Yes.And has he moved on ??? I don't think so ... well, if you still find yourself thinking about him...perhaps you should get back in touch? maybe he *is* the one and both of you need to re-evaluate everything? Maybe you are right ...But it is a little complicated. I would give you more details if we were in chat room. But all I can say right now is that if anyone has to make a move to fix this, would be him... i want details. but you're right, there are no chat room functions here. if you wana email me: kishmish at gmail dot com I would give you more details, if you tell me that you can give some advice that I have not already received! And if you could tell me why you think you can help me with this?? If you have similar experience or some sort of specialty that can help me, I would be extremely happy to ask for your help. I'll be honest. Not sure If I'll give you advice you haven't already received. But if you need someone to be a sounding board and you haven't already done that then feel free to email. ;) you have got mail :)

We have had ups and downs the same as anyone else but i don't think i would like to be single again now at my age - being single and YOUNG is of course more fun...but you don't stop having fun when you marry (at least we never have), it just means you have someone to share it with.. *LIKE*

I have lived in Dubai for eight years and I don’t think that I have become fake. Life is easier here in Dubai compared to many other countries and I don’t think enjoying this easier life would make us fake. Fake is when you pretend to be someone who are not , if you have a maid when you don’t need one , when you buy cloths , cars , shoes only for the sake of the brand name and not for the quality , or your need. I don’t buy designer cloths or hand bags, because I don’t believe in branded products, I would rather spend my money on holidays or pampering myself. (But I don’t think those who do are fake) With Dubai comes a lifestyle that we all enjoy to some extent ,but as long as we remember where we have come from and stick to our own culture and values , enjoying Dubai lifestyle does not become a crime. On the other hand there are people who over do it all. They have done so many beauty operation of themselves that they look like aliens :)) you look at them and all you see is died hair , Barbie nose , huge boobs , tattooed eyebrows , blinking jewelries and branded cloths . THAT IS FAKE

Gleekfamily....just am wondering why u are waiting to leave Dubai until u divorce? Life is too short to place on hold.....as you have said, you are young so my advice is to sort this out asap. It sounds from your post that your mind is made up. There is no point hanging on and pretending or just going through the motions. It destroys your soul in the end. I totaly agree with what you said !!

Coffee and a pastry in a fancy hotel is something my mom enjoys when she visits. It's not over the top price wise (compared to other things here!) but makes her feel very pampered. Her fave place was just outside the lobby at Mina Al Salaam. You sit outside overlooking the man-made waterway and out to the ocean. That sounds like something my mom would enjoy too. Do you know the name of the Cafe'?

I have worked part-time in few companies, while I was studying here in Dubai. The salary for a part-time position was always half of the full time if the timing was exactly half. The best part-time job that I would suggest in Dubai is part times sales that would some sort of commission. At a time without a degree I was making more than what I am now. Only because of the commission on sales .But as MirdifIngrid said, the working environment and the way you are treated at a company is far more important that the money you earn.

I know that sharing the rent is not a good enough reason or the right comparison for marriage. What I meant was to have a partner to share everything with .Not only the problems and the sadness, but also the good times and nice things are more fun when you have someone to share them with.

Its really very confusing sometimes. When I am alone and I feel lonely, or when the rent comes up and I have to worry, that’s when I feel my life would have been easier if I were married. I would have someone to share my life with. But then I talk to people and mostly they only complain about the marriage and have issues with their husbands. They tell me they wish they were still single and if they knew what marriage is like, they would never get married. Well, I have many years of living alone and also had a year experience of living with my boyfriend. Even though we had our share of problems as a couple, I feel I was a much happier person when I was living with him.... Do any of you regret being married?? Where you happier when you were single?

Thank you Lakshmi , I checked the website and it seems to be helpful. Most of nice people that I met in Dubai and became my close friend have left the country during the past two years ,including my ex BF ,and my circle of friends has become really small. I think that is another reason for me to feel lonely.

Thank you SQ, About the right circle, I'm not sure if I ever found it here in Dubai. I do go out and get attention as well. But the guys you meet at the bar or the club are usually not the right ones, and are not looking for a serious relationship. Any suggestions for the right circles?
