Would all of you please stop hovering around your children like a bunch if demented vultures. Instead, try teaching them to be self-sufficient. No wonder there are so many children wandering around without a lick of common sense. It's kind of difficult to acquire good instincts when your parents hover over you constantly in order to "keep you safe". You sound like a very caring mother!

You could line the tins with baking paper which would stop them sticking.

To me their sizes have always came up small but it doesn't bother me buying bigger sizes, I find all shops vary anyway. I hear you Kimball, but I've not had this issue with H&M, so was concerned!... I have 12's from them in my wardrobe that still fit - so couldn't understand why I didn't fit a size 16 skirt! Maybe the skirt was labelled wrong as 2sizes different does seem strange, next time try another skirt in the same size.

Have you tried the Waitrose Essential sugar free tonic? It comes in cans, 6 for about AED 11. It is very nice. Edited to say, I buy mine in Spinney's in Mirdif edited by Ladybirdsarethebest on 04/05/2014 I actually prefer these as they have more fizz and it means not having to open a new bottle for one drink then finding out the rest of the bottle is flat next time you use it.

We changed my son from Green community to WSO and have no regrets, he loves it there and cannot wait to go into yr7 in sept. I actually don't mind the fact he doesn't have heaps of hw, I feel he works hard enough at school.

@ AJC76 - Thank you for recommending Joseph from Aleena curtains. We contacted him and now have very nice curtains and blinds in our house. He provided very good service and would definitely recommend him to others :-) :-) Could you tell me please if he brings samples with him or do you have to go to the shop and choose? Many thanks

Ashford is my hometown I was born and raised there and still have property there. It used to be a great market town attracting hundreds of people from all over the surrounding boroughs until the council decided to change the layout of the town centre and move the market out of the town. Since then the town centre as never been the same, the outlet centre attracts thousands of people from all over but as it's not in the town sadly the shops suffer from this. I love Ashford, and as katscamel said, yes it has some bad areas but also has some lovely ones to, the little villages on the outskirts are beautiful and you don't have to travel far to find beautiful countryside and coastline.

As a resident of Motor City it's really annoying when that lane is blocked by parked cars.... there's quite a lot of parking really- the underground car park has 2 levels for Spinneys parking, there's the car park round the back and there's also proper parking spaces on the roads both sides and there are pedestrian crossings controlled by traffic lights. Guess it looks like it's ok to park there if others are there already and you don't realise but I see the police nearly every day ticketing all the cars there... must be making a fortune. As Licorice said Spinneys has two levels of parking , I dont even bother going to the ground level as its always full. Before you enter the main Ground level covered car parking theres a small exit to your right going down to the basement. I always park there and take the lift upto the Ground which is just right next to spinneys. Unless its a marked space, parking is not allowed. I too got fined some time go for parking on the otherside of the road from spinneys facing the racetrack, so lesson learnt! though at that time it was just Aed.200. This is where I also park and I've never had a problem getting a space.

was about to start a thread regarding metformin aswell...what coincidence. I'm due to take my first tablet today, just a bit worried since I failed to ask m doctor more details. For those who have been taking the drug for a while.. does the body get dependent on the drug. Dont want to be taking this drug forever. No it doesn't, I was on it for about 14 years and stopped overnight with no problems.

Yes garlic is fine to take with Metformin, I took it for years for my diabetes until they realized I was T1 and decided it was pointless me taking it any longer.

Have you tried origins. They have amazing sofas. Most are sectional so you can have them as big or small as you like. Very comfy and well priced. Slightly more expensive than ikea but much better quality. Check out there website. Origins living.com Whereabouts in Dubai are they? I've looked online but it only shows Qatar. TIA

My little boy will be so sad if schools are closed tomorrow, he has his outfit prepared for National Day and hes asleep now. Parents are doing presentations as well. ETA I have seen the twitter feed as well. Haven't heard from the school though. edited by Alismum on 27/11/2013 My daughters will be really disappointed too. Tomorrow would have been a really fun day at school and the celebration would have been even bigger. My son as gone to bed not knowing he has tomorrow off, he too will be very disappointed as he was looking forward to the celebrations.
