We are seriously considering changing schools, after 2yrs of DS being at his present school we're not overly impressed with his progress. He is a bright lad and had excellent reports in the uk but since here I don't think they are bringing out the best in him. Are any of you going to be using the new Gems school and out of interest for what reasons have you chosen it. TIA

We went there on fri to price up a pair of earrings for ML, was quoted quite high as apparently the price of gold as gone up and is going up again so you should get a good price.

The outlet mall has some fantastic sales on beachwear, I bought four bikinis last week, Billabong & Ripcurl from as little as 55 AED and they have other beachwear also.

I would have thought you can but to be honest, whenever we've been there's never any queues and they don't let you In until about 10 mins b4 it starts. Just a tip though, if you are planning to drive, get there extra early as parking Can be a big problem! Have fun.

We done brunch at the Wafi a couple of weeks back, very good value as you can select from about 4-5 different restaurants incl Italian and Thai, they have an absolutely brilliant dessert section that the kids will enjoy, and have to admit I did too. I'm sure you would not be disappointed ;)

I think it really depends on what the argument was about and who started it. I'm quite a stubborn person when it comes to making the first move but if I'm really in the wrong I will say sorry. Harsh words are always said when we row, you just need to decide if you want to spend your wknd not talking or make up with hubby and enjoy it. Good luck.

Our tv etc is with du, I have a electric cooker and as for babysitters we just use our friends maid who also is my ironing lady. There are plenty of gardeners around so you won't have any problem finding one, sorry can't help with the Dewa question as ours is taken care of with the company. <em>edited by kimball 65 on 09/06/2011</em>

We will be moving to Al Reem2 in Aug, presently in Al Reem1, we love the ranches, it has everything we need and is very central for all the malls.

I'm so fed up with their constant inability to sort out the problems we keep experiencing. Programmes that don't record or record something completely different, listing programmes that you get all prepared to watch and end up being different, and worse of all stopping series halfway thru the season. All I can say is thank *** for catchup tv, that is of course when du isn't playing around with the Internet!

This will probably get deleted but here goes: A man walks into a bar with a cat under one arm and a parrot under the other and orders three pints, the barman looks at him a bit strange but serves him his order, anyway through out the evening the man continues to order three pints and the barman serves him but when it comes to last orders curosity gets the better of him and he finally asks the man why he has a cat and parrot under his arms, well the man replies it's like this, on my way here tonight I helped an old lady across the road and she told me she was a witch and could grant me a couple of wishes, well I asked for an exotic bird with a tight pussy and you know what? That f*****g cat ain't bought a drink all night. Boom boom.

Sorry ladies to bring up an old thread, but my DH has bought me a voucher for some beauty treaments in a salon in the Prime Medical Building in Burjuman and i remembered reading this thread the other week cringing at the thought of all the infections you poor women have suffered. Now the thing is i don't want to seem ungrateful for my gift but i also don't want to suffer like some of you had, therefore if anyone as used a salon in this area would you mind please sharing any experiences with me. I think you need to be a bit more specific on what info you want, I live on AR and personally love it, there's everything we need close by and 10 mins from MOE, 15 mins from MCC so quite close when we want a mall, just a shame couldn't get DS into Jess but not complaining as the school he goes to is only 20 min drive. :)

I have my DD here at present with her friend for 2 wks, they go home on the 11th then we have friends arriving the following day for 2wks so the whole of April is a busy month, but love it, it gets lonely sometimes so a nice change.

I rang Jens this morning as i got a email about their special offer, first time it just kept ringing and ringing and then when i rang a 2nd time it rang for ages b4 the answer machine clicked in, i left my details but so far not had a reply, the offer is only valid til tomorrow so it made me wonder if they chose to ignore my call, not very professional IMO.

I'd say DH and myself had more stares and remarks back home then here, one night when we were out with a big group of friends one particular female who knew one of our friends tried to join in a conversation and didn't realise who my hubby was and made a big mistake in making a nasty racial remark against him, saying I saw red would be a understatement,in the end she was thrown out of the pub and barred, no problems here though.

We done the Sheesa beach and dhow cruise the other week in Dibba, although you go through a security check all you need for Dibba is passport or id card. Very beautiful place and the dhow cruise was a wonderful experience, great fun, my DS was very impressed, only downfall was on the campsite they only have cold water showers, so not very pleasant this time of year.

Ironing is the one job i detest, that is apart from cleaning the oven, i have one of the neighbours maids come in once a week for 2hrs to do mine, i could never iron my DH shirts the way she can, i'm sure she was born for the job. I keep looking at your username... do you have a love of tomato ketchup???! Sorry, i don't get what you mean... Kimball is a brand of tomato ketchup here! tastes like s*** though!! My daughter is coming out for her 1st visit here next month,she is a bit of an adrenalin junky and has just messaged me and asked if there is anywhere out here she could bungee jump, she's done this in the uk and loved it and said she likes the look of the tall buildings.
