Thanks girls - we have done bounce 3 times now and yep too expensive to do tomm for an hours entertainment! Children's City could be a good idea, will look into that. Was there a soft play with laser tag near the Mazaya Centre on SZR or am I dreaming? I can't seem to find any details for it!

Right ladies, I have 4 boys tomm - 2 are 9 years and 2 are 6 years. Where can I take them to burn some energy and not cost the earth - any reasonable soft plays that the 9 year olds won't be bored in? Ta x

I found a lovely plastic one in Home Box that feels and looks like fabric, its really elegant looking you would not be ashamed to use on the dining table even. I think they had round ones too, was not looking for that shape though. But a good selection of colours and sizes. Thanks girls! Will check out these places you have mentioned tomm. Di@dxb - where is home box?? Never heard of it! Ta x

So my DS had decided he wants his birthday party at home but he wants a mine craft theme party! Has anyone seen mine craft merchandise in any of the party shops? I was thinking mine craft tablecloths and balloons and a few little bits for the party bags. Any help would be much appreciated as I haven't seen anything in the shops.

You could try Safa. Our 2 dd go there and have been very happy. They are over the fly over from Safa park down on Medan road. Not sure about spaces now, but they are opening up another school next September which will open up more spaces. It's a very nurturing environment and I am happy with the level of education and after school activities they have to offer.

Hi ladies, just wondered if there was anyone that you know that comes to your house to do a blow dry and make up for you? I tried calling Brush and Co but the numbers don't exist anymore so thinking they are no longer operating. Would love some recommendations please as have a party at home in 2 weeks and thought it would be a nice treat to have my hair and make up done at home. Thanks!

In April we stayed at Why House - it is beautiful! It is on large grounds and all the rooms are huge but very separate to everyone. The lady who runs it was amazing (I have forgotten her name) and the food was great. They would cook what you wanted. Beautiful! Take a look at the website: www.whyhousesrilanka.com It's a very personal experiance staying there, and we can't wait to hopefully head back! It was also very reasonable as it included your breakfast and dinner or lunch. Have fun!

Spectrum on One @ The Fairmont would be nice too, but that is inside and the weather is so nice you should make the most of being outdoors so I think Al Qasr too!

Hi we went to Sri Lanka in November with our 2 children - 2 and 5 months. We stayed in one of these villas http://villasinsrilanka.com/ - Coconut Grove which was really lovely. Maybe contact them and see if they have any villas available. These were recommended by another user on here which is where I found it. You are going to have a great time! Thanks so much for the recommendation. The villa looks lovely and looks available, so away to email them. Can you tell me if there were restaurants walking distance and also how long the transfer is from the airport - Ta :)

It is a small children's bike that has no pedals. They push along with their feet and eventually lift them up and helps them get their balance. My kids are still on trainer wheels and these are meant to be great to,get their confidence and balance.
