1. XBox for Windows is the equivalent of Itunes for Apple. Where are you trying to buy it from when it directs you to XBox? I tried a few different ways - basically I went back to the start screen ( which I got by pushing the windows button) then clicked on "store". Scrolling right I finally found a movies section. Do you mean that I should buy all apps, movies and music etc via Xbox despite the fact I don't have one? 2. Right mouse click anywhere on screen to display URL bar. I don't actually have a mouse (although I think I'll be knocking on the door of plus ins in the morning to get one), I'm using the touch pad below the keyboard. Assume you are doing this from Windows 8 App page not the full Desktop. Click on Desktop tile to get full Windows Destop and IE. Yes at first I think I was, then I found the window key and went to the start screen - which is perhaps the desktop? Does it matter which way I get to a store or the store? HTH's I really appreciate the time you've taken to try to help. So strange to feel like a computer novice!

In regards to your second question: Would you not consider downloading and using Firefox? It's much more user-friendly. Goodness, I hope I can find my way around this thing and get out of Xbox to do so!

Almost everyone experiences this! Please please please do not judge your milk supply by the amount you can pump - the two are not really related. Different ladies respond differently to pumping and also to different pumps. I strongly advise you to get some help from a qualified lactation consultant - I used Dr Delphine Dupuis and she is fabulous. Advice on a board like this is of limited value, as every woman ( and baby) is different, but believe me ALL women have doubts and worries. The fact that your baby was dehydrated may well mean you do have supply issues, but true SUPPLY issues are very very rare. Usually the problem is latch, or lack of a good feeding relationship established early. The good news is 15 days is very early - please see someone immediately. Substituting with formula will only "tell" your body it's made enough milk and it swill stop producing. I never really appreciated how much time you need to spend actually feeding a newborn - for me it was 40 odd minutes every two hours - sometimes more. I was sure I had to be doing something wrong...... There are several facebook pages and websites with fantastic support here in the UAE, I'd post links' but I'm not on my computer right now. Perhaps someone else will. There is nothing wrong with formula, but if you do want a good BF'ing relationship, be very very careful about supplementing. edited by Kooky on 03/01/2013

Actually locking a "soft" case is completely useless. All you have to do is punch the zip with a pen, separate it so that it opens, take what you like, then run the (still locked) zip tags around to reseal the zip. Takes less than 3 seconds to open and close. I never bother.

The paediatric dentist at N & A in Mirdif is male - Dr Tarun or something. We've been to see him a couple of times and I feel he knows his stuff ( we've had no major issues though). He has a great manner, but does have quite a strong accent which can be a little hard to understand . He's very patient and happy to repeat and explain until you understand your options though. I found him proactive about reducing costs too.

Ladies I don't know much about IVF, but 40 + is not a fertility sentence. I just had No 3 at 44. The 40's are the new 30's - really, try to relax, you DO have time.

You are in the enviable position of choosing between two good schools, so try not to beat yourself up. We are at RDS and are very happy there. The teachers have been great, the school responsive and the facilities are terrific. I have friends who have children at DESS and they too are happy. My own subjective reason for choosing RDS was that it's closer to our home ( therefore playdates and social life are easier), the drive there is easy and stress free, the facilities are better and I had a strong, happy "gut feel" when I toured the school. Since we've started I've been very happy with the teaching quality and the overall receptiveness to parental involvement. I found DESS jaded and tired (physically) and didn't like the admin's "well IF you get in" approach. I personally believe that people rave about DESS because it's a self perpetuating " it's the oldest and the best" kind of urban myth. That said, my friends at DESS are happy. I'm sure you'll be happy either way. All the best. edited by Kooky on 17/12/2012

I'm very sorry for your situation. I do think it's worth assuming the worst case scenario here. He's telling you this process is for your protection, but is screaming, threatening and you say he already has children in the UK he's not paying for? Personally the last advice I think you should take is his. I understand you have no funds and are clearly in shock but this next week will impact the rest of your life, and as importantly, the lives of your children. Even if you have to borrow, get some advice, change your flights and don't be rushed into anything because of HIS needs.

We send all money back to the UK via the exchange places in the malls but try a couple to get the best rate. You can usually haggle on the rate for a large amount and play them against each other. Also worth monitoring the rate for a week or two, if you can, as it can change enough to make a difference on a large sum. FFx FMI, what's considered a large sum?

Hello all. Stupidly, I left my video camera at the Hyatt hotel in Muscat. It's not something I'd like to post but I have no plans to go back there soon. I'm really disappointed as would love to have it back in time for Xmas. Is there anybody coming up any time soon who wouldn't mind bringing it back with them?

Perhaps go and see Dr Gary Fitzgerald, 043484406. He's a well known and often recommended chiropractor who deals with pregnant women and babies. i know that up to a point ( before the skull plates fuse), he can help, but 6 months may be to old - I'm really not sure. He's very gentle and won't touch your baby until he's explained to you what he wants to do and why. Very reassuring and very effective.

You can get a full eye check done at Moorfields eye hospital. I've had one done for my DD and it was very thorough, you see an opthamologist and an optometrist. it cost about 700 dhs but I was happy, as I actually don't even know the difference between the two so had no idea where to start and was happy that her eyes fully checked!

simpleasabc, it can be done - in fact I did it it without my DH, but it was a palava and I had to use a local with wasta. I stressed in my post that the husband must be there as that is the rule, but my husband was in the middle of the Indian Ocean and absolutely non contactable. I was lucky to have access to a local with wasta. I don't really know what he did to make it happen, but I would not recommend travelling that route unless you have to. He gave me letters to present ( but they were in Arabic so I don't know what they said). Immigration did call him. Once they accepted his OK, the rest was easy. I think if you had a DH there it would be dead easy.

There''s an area behind the Dubai Museum which sells exactly what you're looking for. Not a particular shop - hundreds of them. I got full Salwar Khameez (sp?) and costume jewellery very reasonably. The name of the "area" started with M but I can't think of it. Basically if you stood at the front of the museum facing the gate, go to your left - hit the alleys!

I know is deems daunting, but it's actually very easy ( if you get the passport in time). You just go to immigration WITH YOUR HUSBAND (his approval must be given in person whether he is traveling with you or not). I needed the birth certificate and seem to remember having to get something typed ( typing office in on site). They will stamp your LO's passport with an exit stamp which in effect is just an acknowledgement that the baby is in the country legally (albeit without a visa). The tricky thing is that that exit stamp is only valid for something like 7 or 10 days, so you kind of have to leave it to the last minute - nerve wracking I know. When you enter, assuming you're from one of the visa on arrival countries, you just get LO stamped in as a tourist and your PRO will take care of the transfer of that visa to a residence one.

My husband just did it, although his was expired by date AND by the fact that he was out of the country for more than 180 days. No problem. It did take a while to sort out and the immigration guy initially looked surprised and worried and called his supervisor, but they just cancelled the visa there and he entered as a tourist (Australian passport) I will add though that his passport had only expired by a couple of days.

Good advice from your midwife Swissroll. Hassli, you will be the hero in your birth and anyone who doesn't make you feel confident and strong before, during or after that has no place in your life. Change. Find someone who HELPS you. Doctors are really only there to inform you, encourage you and be there if something goes wrong. If that happens, you want someone you have confidence in.

Oh my - I feel your pain - at least I felt it when I was pregnant. Similarly an osteo really helped me, but I think the two biggest things that helped me were getting a physio to actually come out to my car and adjust my driving position and learning how to climb stairs/get out of bed with minimal leg separation.
