So what's the deal for those of us not JC patents? Fee hike or just new students what's the old costs vs the new? Any justification? if you are not currently JC parents and your child will start there next year then yes you will have a big fee increase and no in my humble opinion there is no justification for such a huge increase my son who is currently in year 5 will go next year and go from 48K to 85K !!!

sheesh, same for me I have a y6 moving to y7 in Sept......... From my understanding you should be ok because your child will be existing JC student the big fees come in 2014 oh I see, but when my second child goes to JC then we pay the big fees. This is mad. We also only get partial company reimbursement, so this is going to be v hard. Yes thats right mine will go sept 2014 and will get the fee hike and i also wanted to put my little one there as well so they can be together but thats completely unrealistic now

I think GEMS probably assumes that everybody has school fees paid by their company so it's no problem for anyone to find the money. Then they need to be pointed in the right direction there are alot of people who's companies don't .... my husband works for EK but these new fees will cripple us as they don't pay it all Hey be thankful Emirates pay for the majority of your fees, those if us not Emirates have been crippled for years!!! They don't pay a lot sadly but yes i do appreciate what you are saying at least we have something

So JPS 38k to 65k (JCPS) and JC (y7) from 58.5k to 64.3k, (9.8%) with a potential additional 6% (taking total to 68k). Is that correct? But if your children are yet to go to JC ( example my middle child will go Sept 2014 Year 7 ) the fee jumps from 58K to 85K ..... that is utterly crazy ...

I also got the letter, I have 2 children in the school and am very confused about the new fee structure. Can they really increase the fees this much? What shall we do? Surely together we can make a difference. I will certainly fill out the feedback.... Im with you on that one we should all stick together and not agree to this !! I'm with you too, mobilise ethe mums There is over 1000 students in that school so thats makes a lot of women and we together should be a force to be reckoned with !!! Game on my form is going in tomorrow ....

Well give me a drink now that I have come down from the ceiling !!! I have my eldest in Year 8 at JC and 2 more to follow and I think this increase is utterly disgraceful ... I don't know how people are supposed to be able to afford these ridiculous prices and they only just increased the fees in September anyway.

I would need to get my Galaxy SII fixed. Unfortunately it fell into the water and now the battery lasts 10 min. I would say obviously the battery is defect however would like to get it checked completely. Where is a repair office of samsung ? I would try Cellfix on the Sheikh Zayed road they are excellent

Well i will put forward a different view - devoured all 3 on holiday and totally loved them for what they were!!! I have read far worse, and if you buy something like this, you shouldn't expect literary genius. It is however, a great page turner, and a very easy read. Enjoy it!! I agree Jules !!

Still on the look for a great book though :-) I read the first one because of all the hype and i have to admit i couldn't put it down after about 5 chapters and i am now just starting the 3rd one yes its not particularly well written and yes its got lots of s... in it but don't be put off by everyone else's comment start it for yourself and if you don't like it then don't finish it but i have to say once i started i couldn't stop reading enjoy

In the week I was up all night with toothache, I sat on my balcony and watched a fella working thru the night and was still working at 10am, I put a large bottle of water in the freezer to get it really nice and cold, handed it to him along with a 100dhs, you should of seen his face, he was speechless. Come on it's not that hard to give a helping hand to the less fortunate. edited by salsB on 03/10/2011 That is such a nice thing to do ... I agree that these poor workers are in the heat all day long whilst we drive into the car park in our air conditioned cars and they are stuck in that car park all day !! I always leave my dirham for them. I once gave a little man a big bottle of water and some cake and croissant as he was just standing holding his red flag in 42 degrees just so us drivers stear clear of the road works. His smile and gratitude was just heart warming ..

Poor OP, she comes on here for advice, trying to help another human being whom she sees being treated badly and she gets jumped on. Maybe she would love to tell this woman to stuff her job on principal but not everyone has that luxury to just throw a job away, especially in the current climate, and maybe she is doing as much as she can... Good luck Helma, I hope you manage to help this lady, and if you can't, at least you tried. Well said Cheeky Monkey . . . Not everyone can just quit their job !!! I have helped a few Filipinas who were badly treated and it is so sad that people can treat another human being in this way. Depending on where you live you can get Security/Police involved or perhaps just try and get her released but of course thats not easy for her if her employers want to be difficult just for the sake of it !! AS far as the ban goes do they still do this ? I am not so sure they do now but I may be wrong ... edited by Lakes Lucy on 03/10/2011
