Hi Cleo4e, firstly congratulations on your pregnancy! Just to let you know you can go to the Fetal Centre in Healthcare City for private scans if you do want to get a quick check up. I have a history of miscarriage so have used them previously and taken their report to Elsa who has always valued their input. Just another option you may want to consider but like the other posters say, don't worry if you just want to wait and see Elsa.

Laydeelay - I feel your pain. We are going through the assessment processes at the moment for FS1 and it's quite a stressful time for parents and it's so unfair because they are so young! One of our options we are considering is to keep him at his current nursery for FS1 because the environment is so nurturing and a bit more relaxed although it's still quite academic. Maybe consider looking at a nursery for FS1 as this will take the pressure off all of you and will allow your child to develop in an environment you're happy with. Good luck with it all and know you're not the only one!

Hi, I have searched through this site on feedback for Repton and there are so many mixed reviews. I appreciate a lot of them were dated a few years ago so things may have changed but I don't know anyone with children at the school (or I'd ask them directly) and would love to hear from people who have children there now (in the FS or Junior years) as to what they like and don't like about the school. I know this is personal to everyone so opinions are of course going to differ. I have visited the school on many occasions and have always loved it but I know that what something looks like on the outside isn't always how it appears on the inside. If you would prefer to private message me or email me, please do. I just want to hear some honest insights. Thank you in advance

Amazing thank you skyfall. I've got an appointment with him scheduled on Sunday so your comment is very reassuring. Thanks again. Do you mind if I private message you some more questions?

Hi CMDall, I'm in a similar position to you although my cysts are of a different type. Just wondering if you've had them removed now and who did you use? and if you were happy with the care you received? Quite nervous about having the procedure done here. Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much ladies, I really appreciate your posts. I was beginning to despair because I was getting nowhere but I actually have an appointment booked with Dr Sant this week so I'm glad I'm heading to the right place. Thank you again. Also for the acupuncturist recommendation - I'm seeing someone at the moment but will keep her in mind for a backup. Thanks again, it's very reassuring to hear your responses.

I had a similar criteria when looking at villas. We're in a type 6 meadows house which is open plan and I believe there is another type which is also open plan but can't remember which. Deema in the lakes also has open plan. Happy hunting!

QueenL - I do appreciate there are millions and millions of families who raise children with no support and I commend them and hold my hat off to them. My parents were one of these families. However, we've been spoilt and got used to the support of my parents which enabled hubby and I to have the occasional break. Parenthood is hard, I think support in any shape or form is always helpful and appreciated. Hope that clarifies.

Hi Didi777, I completely empathise with your concerns - we only moved to Dubai about 6 months ago with my then 11 month old and like you am very VERY attached to my family and am used to being close to them and they have been very involved with my LO. Moving to Dubai has been harder than I expected and nothing makes up for having no family around. Similar to Skyfall, we have started without a maid, but the pressure on my husband and I to constantly be with baby without any break or support is too much so we're going to start the hunt for a maid very soon. I will say though, that the lifestyle here for children and families is excellent. There is so much to do for young ones, everything is easier, the sun is always shining and the lifestyle is truly fantastic. Plus you will meet and make some fantastic friends, everyone has started in the same boat and you'll come to build a life that you value for different reasons to the life you lead at home. I met some great ladies through the expatwomen meet ups. Honestly, if you do decide to make the move, you won't regret it. There are also some great facebook groups for mums in Dubai so look them up. Good luck!
