If they don't do cleaning, cleaning at home is extremely easy for the pliko. I have done that several times. All u need is to remove 2 screws and throw the cover in the washing machine. I even wash the hood. It comes out as good as new.

Hi ladies, I may need to travel to Germany in two weeks (I will be almost 30 weeks on the return back to Dubai) what do you think about flying in the third trimester? thanks :) One more thing about Etihad policy that the certificate should be dated within 7 days of the travel date. If return journey falls after this date a separate certificate for the return journey will be required.

I have to fly in May when i'm 36 weeks to the UK for one week. I checked etihad airways for their policy and it says on the website that pregnant women after 36 weeks are not allowed on the plane, plus, any time after 28 weeks the certificate should state that it's an uncomplicated, single pregnancy, and that the mother has no systemic disease. Edited to ask, anyone has an idea where to buy compression socks in AD? Thanks edited by Leen on 19/01/2011

Oh, my 3 year old called me "stupid" today. Very sad. He was such a polite boy and now not only very aggressive, but rude. I think it's the TV and sweets (has lots of both). As for the stars, not working, he thinks its silly. He even removes the stars his teacher gives him at school!

i like My Playground in Marks and Spencer. It's clean with areas suitable for young ages, but u (or ur nanny) should keep a close eye on the baby since some unsupervised kids go crazy sometimes.

The sister in law of my maid is looking for work. She is currently in AD. Let me know if you are still looking and I can provide some contact details. Actually my maid's residence visa expires in August, but she might be going home in June, so i haven't actually started the looking process yet. I will start interviewing a couple of months before she leaves. I'll ask u again then, thanks :)

I'm quite surprised. For the past 4 years i thought going thru an agency was by law, and to be honest, agencies have become very expensive and not reliable when it comes to the descriptions of the nannies. Im recruiting a nanny starting from June and i'd love to be able to interview her beforehand. Another inquiry would be about the salary. How much do live-in nannies (not thru agancies) take? Thanks all.

I'm sorry for this question, i know it must have been answered a billion times, but is it possible to hire a nanny/maid directly without an agency? i mean is it ok when it comes to the sponsering of the residence visa part? Thanks.

I'm seeing Dr Chirin at Al Noor Khalifa. I have no complications, just routine follow-up, so i can't tell if she's exceptionally good. My insurance covers 100% in most private hospitals, and 0 % in corniche, nevertheless, i am seriously considerning giving birth there. The only negative point about corniche is the shared rooms. Apart from that, my guess would be that corniche makes the best option. Good Luck.
