I bought one for my DD last year from decathlon in Mirdiff City Centre, it was about 900AED. My DD hardly uses hers and I would consider selling it. Please let me know if you are interested.

I normally fill in the po box however Aramex will deliver to your address, don't think they can deliver to a po box, may be wrong though. I usually receive a text message to tell me when my package is due for delivery too. Never had a problem with the delivery and I order from them all the time. Hope this helps

Hi There is a scroll down menu which gives you the option to choose your delivery method. First one is registered post which takes ages, second one is Aramex which is free and much quicker and you can have this delivered to a physical address rather than po box, I always choose Aramex and receive the order within a week.

Hi I have uppababy vista too and bought the maxi cosi pebble car seat. I got the car seat in mothercare in moe, worked out not much more expensive than uk. I would factor in shipping costs etc, I remember at the time thinking car seats weren't too expensive compared to uk, however that could just be pregnancy brain at the time! We have the family fix base which is fitted into the car using isofix anchors in the back seats, the easy fix base uses the seat belt which is great if your car doesn't have isofix. The easy fix base fits the cabriofix and pebble car sear, however, when you move to the next stage car seat at around 9 months you can no longer use the base as the next stage doesn't fit. The isofix also fits the pearl car seat from 9 months. HTH Lexi

We have the uppababy vista and can't fault it at all. It comes with everything you need, built in sun shades, rain covers, insect nets. The carrycot for newborns is a good size and is well ventilated so is suitable for a baby to sleep in overnight. It also comes with adapters for maxi cosi car seat. We didn't buy the travel bag as thought it was rather pricey. I did buy a cheaper travel bag from amazon which did the job and had no problems on flights. Can recommend this pram enough!

Hi I was in the same position as you last year. I made an appointment with Dr Sarah at the Wellwoman clinic and was referred for a breast ultrasound scan at allied diagnostics. The results came back as probable fibroadenoma. Because I had seen a GP at the Wellwoman clinic I was referred directly to Dr Houriya who performed a fine needle aspiration of the lump which thankfully was a fibroadenoma. This all happened within a week or so. I would recommend this route as if you try to get an appointment with Dr Houriya directly it can be quite a wait. I managed to get an appointment with the GP the next morning. Good luck and as mentioned before try not to worry too much!

Congratulations Muurtje! My little girl arrived on Sunday 26th May and weighed in at 3660gr. Was so happy to go into labour naturally which was definitely more pleasant than being induced! Second delivery was definitely easier than the first and a lot quicker. So far everything going well, feeding well and sleeping well, manged from 10pm till 4am this morning which was great! Enjoy your little girl Lexi

Hi Glad everything is going well Philly, I've still got another 4 weeks to go before I'm due and another 3 weeks to work! Everything is going well and I'm now on weekly check ups which makes it all seem really close. I really need to sit down and relax more but can't seem to sit still. I've been building up nursery furniture and cleaning like a crazy woman this weekend. Still have a very small bump but baby is normal sized, hoping that I ping back into shape as quickly as I did with the first one! Star007 did you have a growth scan at 32 weeks? My Dr tells me at every appointment which way the baby is lying, thankfully she is in head down position now. For a few weeks she was breech but thankfully turned on her own. From 36 weeks you should be on weekly appointments, have had this with both pregnancies. Filled in the paperwork for insurance approval for the delivery at my last appointment and discussed pain relief for labour. Have requested an epidural. Now its just a waiting game until the baby decides she is ready. If she's anything like her sister I'll be very overdue and I'll end up being induced! Hope everyone is keeping well, not long now! :-)

Wow big congratulations Philly! Glad it all went well and you have a healthy baby boy! Apologies for not responding in a while, have had lots of visitors and have just returned from a lovely relaxing holiday. Still got a few weeks left to work, planning to work up to 39 weeks which sounds crazy but I still feel really good and have a tiny baby bump. Can't believe I've only got another 6 weeks to go, still got lots to do, like paint the nursery and buy the cot. Haven't done any antenatal classes as this is my second pregnancy and surely it can't have changed that much in 9 years! My only request is an epidural! Had check up with Dr this morning and everything is progressing well so now its just a waiting game! Hope everyone else is keeping well.

Hi Ladies I'm currently pregnant with baby number 2 and had an epidural for number 1 and it was fantastic and I plan to do the same for baby number 2. In fact my birth plan is one word EPIDURAL!!! I worked as an anaesthetic practitioner for the NHS for a number of years in labour and delivery and yes there are risks with epidural, however, in my experience they are very small. The benefits definitely outweigh the risks. Epidurals are a relatively safe method of pain relief, not just used for childbirth, and there have been countless studies done over the years. As kiwispiers mentions there is a risk of a spinal headache due to puncture of the dura (epidural space in adults is very small). This can cause a fluid leak which causes the headache. In severe cases it is treated with a blood patch, however, most causes resolve by themselves. In the UK we have mobile epidurals where you can get up and walk around, however, i'm not sure they are done here. There is a lot of information available regarding the pros and cons of epidural. You are always going to find someone who has had negative experiences. I would advise you read up on epidurals so that you are able to make an informed decision when the time comes. Everyone's perception of pain is different and I would say go with what feels right for you at the time, just remember that once you reach 7cm dilated you will not be able to have an epidural. Good luck with your decision and hope it all goes well. Lexie

Hi Star007 we checked the pram in with the rest of our luggage and then had to take it to a separate counter for what they call outsized baggage which means that it was still part of our luggage allowance and didn't cost us anything to bring back to Dubai. When you collect it from Dubai it is at the carousels where you collect your luggage, however there are 2 carousels for outsized baggaged think they are 3A and 7A. I contacted Emirates before buying the pram in the UK and they said that I could bring back as many boxes as I wanted as long as it was within the weight limit of the baggage allowance. For ease we took the 2 smaller boxes out of the one big one (just for ease of handling, the one big box was quite difficult to lift) and taped them up securely and wrote DH's name and mobile number on them. With regards to the GTT, I spoke to the Doctor about it and gave my reasons for not wanting to do it and she agreed that my chances of developing gestational diabetes are low and the test can always be done at a later date should I develop any symptoms of hyperglycaemia. I am just a bit reluctant to fast for that length of time as I have had a few dizzy spells which I'm pretty sure are due to low blood sugar. Comparing this pregnancy to my last it is amazing the difference in the number of tests they want to do here. Philly thanks for booking a table at the lime tree for saturday, looking forward to meeting you then, hoping all is well with your GTT results.

Hi Philly hope your GTT results were ok? I've decided not to do the GTT as I don't consider myself to be in the at risk group. During my first pregnancy in the UK I was never offered it, however in Dubai it seems to be the norm to do every test under the sun! Star007 which pram did you order? Sorry I haven't checked the thread for a few days and missed your previous post. I am extremely happy with the uppababy vista. It came in 1 big box, although inside there were 2 smaller boxes, can't remember what the total weight was, but we brought it back with our baggage. Had to check it in to outsized baggage and we collected it from the outsized baggage carousel at dubai airport. Irishgal I was at the same bumps and babes coffee morning as you, I think I was sitting to your right side. It was good to meet you, unfortunately can't go to the one at moe this week as I'm working but will try to get to the one at the Dubai Mall next week. Re pregnancy pillows, I bought one from mothercare called Summer pregnancy pillow. It is quite a strange looking thing but is very comfy and has stopped me rolling on to my stomach during the night. Think it cost about 300-350dhs. Looking forward to meeting you on saturday afternoon, 2pm works fine for me too.

Lime tree cafe sounds good, have got a very sweet tooth at the moment so the lime tree carrot cake will be great! Star007, we bought the uppababy vista when we were home at christmas. It is great, was very easy to assemble and it looks lovely. The best thing though is that it comes with everything, the bassinet, carseat adaptors for maxi cosi and all the raincovers are included. We also looked at icandy peach and bugaboo but they were a lot more expensive and this will be our last baby, (mind you I said that 8 years ago!) Looking forward to meeting you all on the 2nd.

Had scan today which was very exciting, we are having another girl which is lovely. Had a feeling this one was a girl, can now think about names! Congratulations Muurtje, I think i'm due a few days after you so we may end up having our babies around the same time. I am mentally preparing myself for another late baby as I was 8 days overdue last time which would mean a June baby! Hope you're all keeping well.

Hi Ladies, Glad to hear you are both well. Muurtje, i also have my 21 week scan this week on Monday. Undecided as to whether or not to find out. We didn't find out with the first and it was a nice surprise when she arrived as I was convinced I was having a boy! I would also be interested in the bumps and babes coffee morning, however i'm working on Monday, might head to the one at marina mall on Thursday.

Hi Ladies Irishgal have you tried the Corniche hospital in AD? My friend had all 3 of her babies there and said the midwives and hospital care was fantastic. Will try to find out who her doctor was. Muurtje i can totally sympathise with you, thought i'd gotten over the sickness but still having the odd moment where I feel quite queasy and still having bad headaches almost daily. Checked blood pressure today at work just to make sure it wasn't related to that and thankfully it is on the lower side of normal. Anyone else struggling to fit into normal clothes? First pregnancy I had a tiny bump and didn't really need maternity clothes, however this time I feel huge and clothes are feeling a bit snug. Thankfully going home to UK soon so can pick up some reasonably priced maternity clothes!

Hi Ladies, had mt NT scan today at 13 weeks and everything looks great! Cant wait for the anomaly scan at 20 weeks to hopefully find out what we are having. In saying that we were unable to find out with DD as she was moving too much and the sonographer couldn't get a good view. Muurtje I am also seeing Dr Braithwaite at AH and she is great, really happy with her. Thankfully my sickness had gone, however have been suffering from headaches for the past weeks. Hoping they pass soon. With regards to prams and strollers etc we have decided to get ours from the UK as they are cheaper and we can claim VAT back. I have my heart set on an Icandy Peach 2 which isn't available here, however they seem to have waiting lists which is a pain! Failing that I will go for the Bugaboo Cameleon.

I used to work in paediatric MRI unit in UK and we would give anaesthetic to children up to age of 5 years, depending on their medical condition and type of MRI scan. An MRI of brain takes around 20 minutes which isn't too bad. In the UK the children wore headphones to block out the noise and were allowed to listen to music or stories. Also parents were allowed to remain in the room when their child had the scan which also helped to reduce anxiety. A lot depends on the child and if you feel your child could lie for 20 minutes then it may be try without sedation first. If that fails then you can always opt for sedation.

Hi Ladies, I'm due on the 27th May. This is my second pregnancy, albeit with quite a large age gap. Have been quite nauseated for weeks now, hoping it passes soon! Have been to American Hospital for my first scan, very reassuring to see a strong heartbeat.
