I dont think this is herbal, but this is what i have started using last couple of months. It works so well, do not sweat at all with this stuff. But something to note, is do not use it the same day as you have shaved your underarms as it will itch and burn otherwise. Basically what you do is shower in the evening, then apply it and go to bed. Wash it off next morning. This is normally when i would shave my underarms (the next morning). It says you can use it once a week but i tend to use it about twice a week. I bought mine in Boots, was around AED 100 i think but its lasting ages... http://www.absolutedry.com/

Ear and nose piercings can be done at gold shops too. Tattoo parlors are illegal here in Dubai Tattoos parlours are not illegal (unless it's been outlawed in the last year) ..... they just have to be done by a licensed artist. having permanent make up done by tattoo is legal here. But having a tattoo done as in getting a picture drawn on your skin is illegal Would be interested to know where you have read this ? Ive researched it thoroughly as I was looking at having one done. It is only illegal if carried out by an unlicensed tattooist. Generally they will only get a licence to perform medical or cosmetic tattoos, however once they have a licence they can and will tattoo other things and quite a few do. The law doesnt mention pictures or art ..... it simply states that they must be licenced. Perhaps its changed recently, because I found this by doing a search and seems this is a legitimate shop in Dubai for tattooing. I had mine done overseas as was always under the impression that it was illegal here and the people who did operate here were doing it illegally. https://tattoonation.ae/index.php

Dr Ria Jones at healthbay polyclinic is a British doctor. And knows a lot about medication and will only administer medicine if she thinks its absolutely necessary not like some other doctors here who dish out antibiotics etc for the slightest little thing I had the HPV vaccine done at Healthbay polyclinic too

Uber is a good option. We use it a lot when on holiday in South Africa and its not badly priced. Much cheaper i think than other taxis and safer.

I tried the Gladys salon in Motor city and i can say it wasnt the most pleasant experience. their customer service is quite shocking. I did gelish which i recall peeled and chipped off after a few days and i found it very overpriced. personally i wouldnt go there again, there are much nicer salons around with cheaper prices and better quality of work.

Hi there... i live in Remraam, in Al Ramth. I love it there. I dont know why anyone would call Al Ramth the dark side. :) I would much rather pick Al ramth than Thammam. I have friends living in Thammam and the buildings are much older. And i just find it too busy, Ramth is peaceful at the moment. Although when all the new buildings open, it might be just as busy as the other side They have almost finished building tennis courts, football pitch and volleyball pitch at Ramth. Plus there is a gym meant to be opening in Ramth side, but no one is sure when that will actually open. They are also in the process of adding new parking in Ramth side. Also traffic is much easier to exit from Ramth if you leave around 7.30am. Coming from Thammam it can take a long time to get out during that peak time. i live on a podium level apartment with a big terrace and love having that extra space outside. didnt have any issues with the rain recently, but i do agree we do have some disrespectful neighbors who think our terrace is their ashtray  definitely join the facebook remraam groups to get more of a feel "Remraam" and "residents of remraam"

i've not lived in Joburg but i grew up in SA, originally from the UK My husband is from Joburg so been there a few times If the job is in Rosebank, you're best bet is to look at staying in Sandton area, that is close by and a nice area. Also Morningside, although further to drive around 30mins something you might want to consider, just so you feel more at ease which is what i would definitely do if i move back there, is to put the Anti smash & Grab tint on the car. I'm sure if you google you will find tons of places that will do it. And just be vigilant and have common sense. Like dont leave your handbag on the passenger seat like many of us do in Dubai, keep it on the floor on the passenger side out of sight. Just simple things like that & you'll be fine also i'd recommend living in a gated community which will make you feel more secure. There are plenty in Joburg with 24hr security at the gates

HI Ladies anyone else facing issues lately with DU adding on random amounts like AED 200 here or AED 180 there and when you question it they say its some deposit you owe them or some back payment for mistakes THEY made with your bill?? i've had my account with them for 6 years and paid all my deposits when i joined, so there is no way i can owe them any deposit. All my bills are paid up to date i paid my bill in full this month what was owing, however the day after i paid the bill, they randomly added another AED 200 onto my bill without informing me of it or what it was for. therefore i didn't pay it because i had no clue about it. So they cut me off! when i questioned it, they said its security deposit for your credit card payment & i must pay it to be reconnected!! anyone else being charged AED 200 for their credit card payments through DU? my bill is now showing AED 200 overdue because i haven't paid this 200 deposit they are asking for... but not once have i ever been asked for this... when i paid my bill this month i paid the full amount owing and there was no extra 200 showing on there. its becoming a joke now with them every month adding on random amounts  Am coming very close to canceling the whole subscription and going with Etisalat and Showtime

i like perfectil for a multi vitamin Wellwoman is the same but i find that one makes me feel nauseas - but every person is different i guess :-) I used to use biotin for my nails, its excellent! my nails went from being paper thin to hard as a rock! i also take royal jelly daily as this stops me from catching colds and flu that are doing the rounds

I've had CIN 2 and CIN 3. First time was in 2009, which was CIN3, I had the abnormal cells removed by cryotherapy at American hospital, which is freezing them off. However nowadays they don't recommend this option as its not very successful and there is a chance of not removing all the cells Recently i had CIN2 and had a colposcopy. After which they decided on doing the cone biopsy. I guess because of my previous CIN3 infection this was also at American Hospital by my healthbay gynae this involved going under general anesthetic and having the abnormal cells surgically removed (its just a thin layer they remove). It was a very quick procedure, i was under maybe 15mins i took about 2 days off work and had the weekend on top of that and was fine by the Sunday. However you are advised no swimming, tampons etc. for about 3 weeks or a month after i think it was. Cant quite remember. so far my follow up smears have been clear but recently i did have the HPV vaccine as a precaution. if you read up on CIN, it can take years and years to develop, which is why regular smears are the best thing to avoid it progressing and you can treat it early good luck!! i'm sure all will be fine :-) :):):):)

i second Chi nail spa, been going for years.. and recently they've started a new thing which i think is like points and then you can use it as discount on your treatments once you've accumulated so many. I've had 100dhs off..... 70dhs off... not sure exactly how it works but seems to be a good scheme

Chi nail salon in Motor city is really nice If you're looking for a clinic in the area, there is healthbay polyclinic in motor city which has good doctors. For dentist, i quite like Heather Totten at Park Avenue dental in motor city also I would say choitrams for meat & they have pork section, even Carrefour has decent meat a lot of the times actually, but i dont really like their chicken. I find it quite rubbery I havent tried choitrams chicken, because i normally just buy spinneys or waitrose chicken which is always good There is a carrefour which opened in Ranches souk that has a deli next to it (you enter by the tills), this has a good meat and pork section and very reasonably priced too I keep all my tinned food in the cupboards. Bread i keep in the fridge as it lasts longer

Dentist: Caroline, Dental Studio, Umm Sequim. Fantastic with kids and adults too! http://thedentalstudio.ae Doctors: Dr Carol Smylie is fantastic, but is in Mirdiff/not so close (Healthbay polyclinic) Dr Gordan Bland fantastic with kids : Mediclinic Dubai Mall Unfortunately in Dubai it's unlikely you'll find everything so close to home. Ah yes Dr. Gordon Bland, i forgot about him. I also used to see him often at Dubai London Clinic if Carol smylie was fully booked. He was also really good didn't realise he moved to Mediclinic now, pity not the Ranches branch!! So many good doctors the opposite side of town

Hi all! I'm moving with my two children in two weeks from the UK to dubai! Our new home is in sports city - obviously used to having a GP five minutes away here in England ! Can you lovely ladies please recommend me a good GP/ Peadiatrican local to me ? Same for a dentist of possible ! I would prefer a British doctor but not essential - just a good Pead who is friendly and doesn't just prescribe antibiotics for anything !! Thanks ladies ! I cant recommend my dentist enough, he is at dr michaels, dr chris johansson. he is swedish and amazing. my whole family see him, my kids are very nervous and i have always problems with my teeth. been living here for some time and i know who and not to see. the best gp for us it dr carol smart at healthbay, we see her mostly and i have seen her husband once, graham smart. both v good and british. I agree, Dr. Carol Smylie (not smart) and Dr. Graham are both very good. I used to see Carol Smylie all the time many years ago when she still worked at Dubai London Clinic. She was my favourite doctor however she's now based in Mirdif branch of Healthbay and way too far for me to go now OP was looking for something around sports city area which is miles from Mirdif unfortunately but if willing to travel, i would say definitely Carol Smylie at Healthbay

Healthbay polyclinic in Motor city (5 mins from sports city), Dr. Ria Jones. I've seen her before when she used to be in al Wasl branch and she was lovely. British doctor http://healthbayclinic.com/doctors/dr-ria-jones/ and for dentist i would recommend Dr. Heather Totten (also British) at Park Avenue Dental (also in Motor city, just down the road from where healthbay is) http://parkavenuedc.com/doctors/ for Pead i'm not sure as i don't have kids, but maybe you could try this doctor at Mediclinic in Arabian Ranches, she's south African (Dr. Bester) which is about 10mins from sports city... I've seen another South African lady GP there and she was also really nice, but think she might have left as i cant see her name listed anymore http://www.mediclinic.ae/DoctorDetails.aspx?drid=451 Hope that helps!! Actually reading Dr. Ria Jones bio, she is also qualified in babies and children so maybe you could see her first for both and see if you like her

every time i go in an RTA taxi i'm on edge the whole journey. Cant count how many times I've had a driver that's falling asleep at the wheel while speeding in the fast lane I only use Careem now, i don't trust the RTA drivers at all. I've used Uber in South africa and it was really good, but have yet to try them in Dubai. I prefer the Careem app to the Uber one

To bring up this old post again.... i couldn't find boric acid. A few pharmacies i tried said they don't stock it or don't stock it anymore so i had a look online and found this stuff called "Advion Cockroach" (its like a gel that you squirt blobs around the house - away from children and pets though... i think its similar stuff maybe to what the pest control use) it had such good reviews online, so i searched for it here and found some on souq.com, wasn't too expensive, about 60dhs i think. I put some down last night and this morning when i went into the kitchen, about 11 dead cockroaches!! so impressed with that stuff.... everything else I've tried hasn't worked as well as this stuff did. just hope it keeps them at bay now... as wasn't looking forward to the hassle of pest control coming in, especially with having pets but anyone battling with the pests, i would highly recommend it. maybe that along with boric acid (if you can find it) might keep them completely away

i was on yasmin for years and then came off it when i read some bad things about it. Also apparently they wanted to ban it in some countries. I used to also suffer from migraines on it, which i had never had before it was excellent for my skin though but not worth the cons of taking it. Also increases risk of blood clots, much more than other pills do when i stopped taking it, i went onto marvelon, which was ok but it gave me terrible stomach cramps during my period every month and mood swings just before it. i stopped taking the pill about a year ago now and feel so much better. No stomach cramps at all during my period, which also only lasts now for max 3 days (2 days heavy and 1 day very light) (on the pill it was about 6 days) however, from being on the pill for so long i did suffer with quite bad anxiety for about 5 months after coming off it - i read this is normal as your hormones are all over the place that seems to have eased now

Well it's still raining - thunder and lightning, too - here in Muscat and I've had about enough of it ? . I know that the region needs all the rain it can get but it would have been nice if it could have been spread out a bit through the winter. This spell of rain has now been going on for just over the last three weeks with, it seems, barely a dry day in all that time. We had to let water out of our pool yesterday because it was so close to overflowing ?. Guess we should be thankful for small mercies though. Our home has stayed watertight and we've had no power cuts or surges and the roads in our area have remained clear of flooding ?? Yip muscat has been getting it bad for a while. My family there keep complaining how their house is constantly getting flooded from it

I also have dry skin and suffer with breakouts easily for years i've been using Clinique 3 step process for dry skin... but then i suddenly started to break out with milia on my face. then a friend of mine who is a beautician told me the clinique moisturizer is too thick for my skin so she recommended to switch to dermalogica so now i'm using clinique face wash for dry skin, clinique clarifying lotion for dry skin and then the dermalogica clear start day cream (which you can only get in the dermalogica stores, not the pharmacies) all the milia have gone and i've noticed a huge difference in my skin i might even try the rest of the dermalogica range (face wash and toner) but i still have tons of clinque left over to get through first which i don't want to waste since its not cheap!

In the absence of 5mg valium and/or a business class seat, I find that I can get a lot more comfortable if I can prop my feet up. Also, noise cancelling headphones make a huge difference!! I use in-ear buds as my ears get sore when I have full cover headphones on for an extended period of time, and I leave the cancelling on even if there's no music. You don't realise how loud a plane is until it's blissfully drowned out. yes i always take ear plugs or my in-ear buds as i also cant wear the ones that go over your whole ear, my ears feel like they're bruised after a couple hours. I thought i was the only one!! it definitely does make a huge difference with the noise!

i have tablets called Kalms and i've also heard of others called sleep calms which are a natural sleeping aid, might try some of those i have panadol night but sometimes if i take those i wake up feeling really groggy, so if i dont manage to sleep on them on the plane i know i'll feel awful from them maybe a couple of calms and couple of drinks might do the trick! i cant take a window seat because i get up a lot because i get so uncomfortable... wish they'd put the foot rests back in to make it more bearable Is there such thing as a blow up foot rest that you could get? Or maybe get a blow up cushion / neck pillow that you could put your feet on to make it more comfortable. I'm quite short and I miss the foot rests too. I end up using my hand luggage as a foot rest most of the time and everything gets squashed inside the bag!!!! hahhaa i do the same and everything in the bag is so squashed by the end of it

Hi Ladies... Would love to hear your tips for getting some sleep on an overnight economy flight I always struggle with this and i have a night flight coming up and would love to get at least 2 or 3 hours in but i always really battle & end up arriving absolutely shattered any thing you do that helps you get some rest in that uncomfortable upright position? thank you :) Upgrade to business :-) That is the only way I can sleep as I am flat. I cannot sleep sitting up and feel your pain  I wish i could, but i booked the emirates staff discount tickets through a friend, so i cant even upgrade using my miles  the only bad thing about those cheap fares, that you cant upgrade or get air miles. But suppose you cant complain when you're paying such a low fare i get so jealous of people that are asleep the whole way sitting up... i just cant do it!

hi Ladies i recently inquired about this at Healthbay and these are the prices i was given (although not sure if its different price for adults) Gardasil AED 710 (and you need 2 doses) Cervarix - AED 715 (also 2 doses required) so i guess you're looking at about 1400 without consultation fees, but i think you pay in 2 payments since you do it like a month apart i haven't had it done yet though, so not 100% sure on the payment process for it. But i would guess you pay as you have the doses sorry, was a few weeks ago when i got this info and they just printed the prices for me..... as sarahlou123 mentioned above, i think its 3 doses not 2 as i stated above. so i guess that's over 2k for the 3 doses then
