The apt is on the Palm so not new. Apparently he is having issues with the developer and currently going through court over fees. He is willing to meet us and we are using a reputable agent, and we met the old tenants who are from Aus. But I don't want to move in and have problems later on...

we are looking at a new apartment to move into, however the LL does not have the title deeds yet, but he says we can get the dewa switched onto us using the SPA (Sales and Purchase Agreement) - has anyone done this and is it true? Also Du say they just need the tenancy contract and no title deeds...? TIA

I had an induction due to high blood pressure at 40 weeks. Had a very long labor which was over 40 hours as kept stopping and starting. Was fairly painless as I had an epidural which was fab. But totally exhausting as so long. I wouldn't be induced again unless had to for medical reasons.

There is an expat woman finance specialist if you click on 'Finance' if you message him (Paul) he can give you free quotes from different companies. Usually Zurich or Royal London are the most competitive depending on the cover you want. http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_Finance_GlobalEye_Financial_Advice_Paul_Jenkinson_10618.aspx

I'm in springs. The houses are older but surroundings are nice. You get pool, shops and security which you don't currently in jvt. But houses in jvt are bigger and newer.

They are currently building two large mosques being built in the marina so if you are not Muslim you may want to not be too close as they may wake you very early morning if you live close by. I lived in The Waves a few years ago that's a nice building. I like JBR too but have heard the traffic is very bad there lately and it can be noisy.

You should keep savings offshore or in home country, much safer as the government has full rights over your money and assets here should DH die/be arrested or anything like that. Accounts will be frozen until further notice. Transfer money offshore or set up a Bond etc. at least your money will be protected, and possibly grow too.

My husband recently saw the Neuro surgeon at Saudi German Hosoital who was very good. I'll have to check with him what his name was. He went direct not via gp, as we have direct billing insurance (Aetna) so he didn't have to pay anything.

I would go to a reputable salon and have it stripped out I made the same error years ago with a shop bought red colour and it was a disaster I had to dye my hair darker, then strip it ( It went pink) and then dye it back to its natural colour Head and shoulders wont help at all :-( I think I need to go to a salon really it looks awful. Anyone recommend a good british hairdresser for colour? I live in the springs so this end of town if possible

Do you mind if I ask which dye you used? I can never get my hair to go as red as I would like! It was a loreal mousse one that I got in the uk at boots. The colour said auburn, so I wasn't expecting much red at all. But I have some old highlights it must have clung too. The dark one is actually 'chocolates brown' wella mousse perm dye. It is black. I like the mousse home dyes they go on well but I can tell my hair is in very bad condition since I started doing it at home. Might be time to start using a salon. Just gets expensive as I have grey now coming through so need to do it every few weeks...

A week ago I dyed my hair at home and it went far too red. To cover this I used a dark brown permenant dye, and now it's sooooo dark it's almost black. Does anyone know how to lighten it? Or remove these dyes completely. My natural colour is brown, I want my hair to be mid/light brown. It's a mess. Do I need to go to a salon? I'd rather not, but needs must.

So sorry to hear about your mum. My husband also has bowel cancer in his family and has a colonoscopy every 4 years as a precaution. He last went about 6 months ago to Healthbay clinic on al wasl, they were excellent and have a specialist doctor there, he's German, sorry I can't remember his name! Ill ask DH when he comes home. It was quick and easy and they put him to sleep which he was pleased about, though he was only out for about 10 minutes. The worst bit was the fasting the day before, and the colon cleanse! It's not nice but I know he (and me) felt much better once it was done. edited by lincolnimp on 21/10/2013

There is always going to be that cross over time of you paying the money and having no car whilst they pay off their bank, before you get the car registered to you. Personally I would avoid it, buy cash a car that has no finance on it, or if you want monthly payments buy from a reputable garage and get your own loan. Saying this we have a car loan and would like to change cars but need to clear the loan first. The only way to avoid this is to take a personal loan, rather than a car loan from the bank, then you can buy any car you want and the car won't be attached the your loan. I wish we had known this beforehand.

The main thing is to get a worldwide lab certificate for any diamonds you buy. Not just a warranty or certificate from the shop. Otherwise you don't know what your buying, and will find it harder to sell on if you wanted to. This will confirm thr diamond size, colour, quality and worth and will come with serial number. Cara have always provided this for anything I've bought.

I would also be interested to know what is a good rate that would be expected to pay for setting up a UAE will for someone who has not previously done one. Can anyone help? I've been told to expect it to cost around 3k, is that normal? TIa The expat woman offer is doing Sharia & home country Wills for discount at price of 2000 aed rather than 3000 aed until end Oct (see ads down side of web page)

The OP was asking about a company called *******eye. yes, correct. I am getting a bit confused now. I wish I had seen the replies to my original post.... From bitter personal experience I would advise you to avoid this company. I have had a great experience with this company. I think it's more down to the individual Advisor you get than the company they come under. Our Advisor is excellent from there but he told us himself that he has encountered dubious advice given by Advisors from his own company. Our Advisor is Paul who is on this site under 'finance' if that helps. He's very open any straight forward I would advise giving him a call if you're concerned.
