Jebel ali nursery are doing summer camp for children aged 1.5 years to age 4. My DD starts nursery there (the lakes) in sept so I am sending her to some summer camp days to ease her in (she's 2 this month). It's 120 aed per day or 500 aed for the week (8am-12.00pm). They have a branch in JBR too but I don't know about their summer camp, or if its there too.

I got my birth certificate and marriage attested here at the British embassy then dubai courts. It was fairly easy. If your husbands company has a PRO they may even do it for you. You may not need your degree attesting, depends what sort of job you do. I never had mine and was never asked for it in any job, I do PA work. Also if you stay on your husbands sponsorship you may not need it.

At that age I would do a week at the very most. Feels a lot longer to them than it does to us. Plus I would miss dd terribly after only a couple of days...never mind weeks!

Do you mean whilst flying? Or whilst you're actually on holiday? For flying I just carried 3 or 4 sterilised bottles with me to use and used cartons of formula. Whilst away from home I would use sterilisation tablets or just boiling water if I didn't have my steam steriliser with me. Hope this helps.

Have a look on www.dubizzle.com and you can get an idea of prices for different areas. You can get a 3 bed in the Springs for 165 or less.

The prices drop a lot during summer for holiday apartments, so if you call directly they often do discounted monthly rates. There are some cheap ones in Tecom and Barsha.

I would get electric either way, much easier. I had the Philips Avnet twin electric pump it was good. I think there is a hands free one though which looks good, I think I would try that if I bought one again.

Definitely wise not to keep your cash here. The uae government has full rights to your bank accounts and they can be frozen at any time e.g if you have a car accident etc. if you click on the 'Finance' tab on this site (above) you can contact Paul Jenkinson he is the recommended Advisor and will give free advice on opening offshore bank accounts in the Isle of Mann or Jersey where your money is protected. I think you can save in Euros, Sterling or Dollars, depends how you are paid. Hope this helps.

I suffer with this too I sleep minimum 8 hours a night and always tired. I have had my thyroid checked and anaemia tests. Nothing wrong there. I don't exercise however so it might be this. I have a two year old so don't work at the moment but feel so fatigued could take a 3 hour nap every day! Too much sleep maybe?! Need to start hitting the gym I think, see if that helps.

I have sold gold at the dubai mall souk and at cara in the gold and diamond park. I've never had a receipt. They did however take a copy of my passport at the dubai mall shop. Try a few different shops before you sell because I got offered a different price each place I tried!

We just got some sept flights with BA for 1700 aed. (440 gbp) That sale is still on if you look on skyscanner.com. Not sure about the summer though. We check daily on there for sales, it shows all airlines inc. emirates, Qatar and etihad, though they are never the cheapest. We are now looking for nov flights but that are all still showing 3000 aed plus. (Dubai-uk) 440gbp is not AED1700 more like AED2420 Sorry yes my bad, 440 pounds so 2400. Don't know where I got 1700 from..!?

I live in the springs and I know the Arab family across the road who live in a two bed have their maid sleep in the bedroom with their two sons. my friend who lives next door to them told me as shes friendly with them. The husband uses the supposed maids room as his office. The boys are of school age. Very strange. You'd think the kids would hate it as much as the maid Would. No personal space. Ever.

Look on www.skyscanner.com they search all airlines at once. We usually wait until there is a sale on to book. BA and virgin are usually the cheapest when they have a sale, though not as nice to fly with as emirates or etihad

Hi busy yes I've found it you're right there is a 'mortgage' section at the bottom of my reg. card then something written in Arabic, that must be where it links it to the loan at my bank. Looks like the only way I can end it is to try and change it to a personal loan. Many thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info. Maybe it's a personal loan we have. The car registration is in our name, if the bank owned the car would it not be in their name? It is strange that the lady at the bank told us to just go and sell it too and did not mention needing anything from the bank to do this?

The loan is for 4 years, We have 3 years left on the loan. How can we obtain a clearance letter when we haven't paid off the loan. Is the vehicle card not proof we own the car? We have just renewed the insurance directly with Zurich and also renewed the registration with the rta directly, nothing to do with the bank and no one asked for anything from the bank. The car was not brand new when we bought it. If that makes any difference.

I have had a couple of flexible employers in the past. They were both british. I think in the uk people are more accommodating for flexible working/part time hours so they are easier to negotiate with for this.

Lincolnimp, received an email from Emaar about it, they will be sold off plan tomorrow morning from 7am at emaar hq downtown, no doubt they will go like hot cakes, but it makes al waha and arabian ranches 3 beds very expensive unless they will be flipped and flipped to reach similar prices, either way it's insane. Will be located on bypass road opposite layan/al waha in front of SHeikh Hamdan swimming complex Thanks keeper. Could u forward me the email. Or the link where the info is is there's one on your email? Springsuae at hotmail dot co dot uk. Thanks

Indeed the market is unregulated which means anything goes on prices; the new emaar 3 bed townhouses for sale this week end are at less than a million, where does that put existing surrounding properties,? Way overpriced?! In the uk there is a standard price within 5-10% per square foot per area, whether on or off plan? Not double or triple the price for the same square footage, and don't give the excuse of established/not established because that makes no sense once everything is built. or are emaar relying on flippers again? This market is crazy and will shoot itself in the foot again unless it adheres to sensible standards; Where are there new emaar 3 beds for sale for less than I million?? I looked on their site but can't dine them where should I be looking..?
