YES! my dd had pinworms when she was 3. They come out at night when the child is sleeping and travel to the vagina. They cause irritation and itching! This is very common actually with young kids especially if they play on playgrounds in the sand and dirt!!!!! We had to do the flashlight trick at night and we saw them! YUCK! I felt horrible that she had them! She was put on medication and they were gone in no time flat! Worms! Most likely, take your child to the doctor not post on forum! Worms? In a childs vagina? Really? Last I heard worms were the provence of back bottoms.... Everyone else has given very sensible advice on this forum as to what the problem could be and also suggested seeing a doc to get it sorted out properly. The only reason for not posting on a forum would be to avoid advice like yours! *wanders off having REALLY heard it all now*

Thanks ladies for all the replies and input. We had a heart to heart with DD and she will not get a BB until she is 16 (or whatever else is the latest fad at that time LOL). Dad did agree to buy her a laptop for her 13th bday which is only in 6 months, so she is happy!

This is exactly one of the reasons her dad is saying NO! We can afford these things but choose not to buy them even for ourselves. I am perfectly happy with my 400 dirham Nokia! But I also know how hard it is to be the kid whos dad always says no when all the others say yes! We came to this country with the intention to save money (LOL right) and not get caught up in all the materialistic things this country is about! But it is hard for us to expect our children to understand this when all they see around them is BLING! Ok, sorry, mum of a toddler here so I have no idea what I am talking about, but what is so wrong with "not fitting in" with things like this? By giving in aren't you teaching them to live for the neighbors?? I went to public school and there was always a disparity in income levels among kids. Parents explained early on what the deal was and that while we were not poor, they did not believe in spending on fancy (pencil cases or sthg at that time). I understood and I had real friends who were my friends for who I was and not what I did or did not have! Apologies for being contrary.

The pressure on our kids to have the latest and the best is sad. I am going to try and convince her dad to let her spend her own money she has saved to buy a gently used BB. UGHhhhh dads can really be stubborn mine was the same way when I was growing up!
