Parvo has always been rife, with so many "imports" of unvaccinated puppies and puppy farms. Owners are stupid if they don't get their dogs vaccinated.

I think they are calling it GEMS Metropole Motor City or something similar. My friend went to the Gems Motor City Q&A session earlier this month. He said they indicated they will not have many Western teachers/ were looking at mainly Indian staff. And what is wrong with that?

Why not pop to immigration in the morning and see if the result has come through, the last couple of times i have done family blood tests the results have been in the system and i never received any notice if they had been competed, but they had.

what animals do you have? there are lots of pet sitters who can come twice a day but that would proabbly work out expensive and if you have dogs, they can be a lot more needy than cats... No they have to live in, visiting twice a day is not reliable enough. What you doing in July? lol PS Internet access will be provided! fasting..... will be good for nothing :) i have three cats or i would offer to take your dogs We have cats as well but would not like other cats much.

A zoo/ wildlife park, a farm, museum, art gallery, theatre or an orphanage, hospital, children's therapy centre like SENSES. Farari world or that sort of thing Chairs and tables can be supplied anywhere but if you want creativity don't bother, just give them a list of what to bring that they think they may use or need.

Probably not, maybe you can wind up a local resident who enjoys such things and belives they can get it sorted to go and deal with this. May be next time get your visitor to ask for evidence of the police permission authority notice form before when asked, it won't take much to baffle the average gate guard. lo

It was recently in the local press that 5 nurses had contracted MERS in Al Ain, and that one had then died of it. Unfortunately his body could not be returned to his home country because of the risk of inadvertently spreading the disease, so he had to be cremated here. Maybe that is where this has come from. If it truly was a school that sent out this message, then they need to be reported to the authorities. There are people who will take this seriously and panic! I thought they worked for the Al Ain ambulance service, but completely agree with reporting the source.

Whoever posted this on any school website or related site to a school is highly irresponsible. If any school sent out such an appallingly written piece of information without the approval of the Ministry of Health and correct authorities i think there would be severe repercussions. I am sorry to say this looks like some Facebook scaremongering from a certain set of nationals. To date as far as i am aware the authorities in the UAE and the WHO are monitoring and dealing with the situation in the region. This is not just a UAE problem, it is a regional one. Doctors in the region are watching for symptoms and know what procedures to follow should they suspect a case, as they do with any outbreaks or communicable disease. If indeed this was a school who sent this out they should be reported to the appropriate authorities in order to be reprimanded for scaremongering. I thought new laws were coming out to prevent such misinformation via social media networks.

Thanks ladies, we see Dr Keith Nicholl who has advised we finish the course of antibiotics, if there's no improvement I think I have to go and see a specialist. LO had coughing fits last night but no vomit so I can only take that as a good sign. Here's hoping... sometimes you feel like you're the only one going through it so it really helps that there are others out there battling with it - thanks again! Stick with your DR, he is a good one! You don't need a specialist unless your Dr (who is great) tells you so. All will be fine, these things can take time to clear up and are horrible to witness.

GE you (and i) may still feel like a teenager but let's face it we aren't - we cannot function on 3 hours sleep, can't eat the contents of the fridge and pantry and still fit into our size 10 jeans, can't party until 5 am, have a shower and go to work, cant' pull all nighters to cram for a test, cant run up and down 10 flights of stairs etc .... Yes, all well and good that we feel great in our grey haired heads but the fact is we are middle aged. It is what it is. **********YOU Can't do these things??****************

logically it would be posters with more stars, but does anyone really care, it's all quite farcical anyway. I'm now thumbing everyone, well nearly lol So you're on a mission to give everyone five stars? Then they will need to zero it out and start again to make it have any purpose :) And what exactly does 5 stars mean? Really one has to be careful not to take this all too seriously. What on earth do you mean? It is the reason to get up in the morning..... Today i will achieve myfifth star!!! Then no one will speak to you, you'll most probably get barred and have to start all over again ;) ;) ha ha, love it! GREEN THUMB UP for GE!

That would make sense but cars aren't stopped at the gatehouse. Anyone entering the community drives past the gatehouse then goes one way for the shops and businesses, and another way to the barriers to the residential areas, so by the time security know you want access to the houses you're already way past the gatehouse. It would make more sense to move the gatehouse to the entrance of the residential area and have the intercom at the access to the overall community and use it only during the night. There you go applying logic and common sense again SD, lol I would go and visit the director of security and point out 101 what needs to happen.

For a gatehouse they can just take the car plate number and name of guest visiting or an ID card number if the really want to. Only in Saudi and Diplomatic compounds would i expect to hand over such ID. Even here in DSO we don't have that but every car is recorded on camera and numbers taken.

I have tried a couple of Chinese doctors here for lower back pain, one was located near the Safestway building on the SZR, not sure if its till there and don't recall the name as it was some time ago and more recently another one at DHTC. I was given a heat massage at the first place and dry cupping, which relived the pain temporarily after each session, and I had a Tuina massage at DHTC, which I have to say was completely ineffective for me. I left the place in the same pain if not worse than I had arrived in. The doctor spoke no English so it was not possible to communicate my history at all, that may have been a factor but they should have provided a translator. I would be the last person to discount alternative treatments but I found either of these places able to resolve my chronic pain. How are doctors who don't speak Arabic or English even licensed here?

The subject is far too emotive for you to get an objective opinion on this forum. Better to look at raw data on the schools' website or an unbiased review website. I would start with pupil numbers, class sizes, exam results and the availability of sport and music activities. Different schools are better for different kids. But there lies the problem, what data? Which results? I'd look at the fees! How can any review website be unbiased? not possible.

It's been like this since 5.30 this morning. Massive smash between several trucks on the Business Bay bridge, so the police shut it off. It's still not clear and has been causing chaos around the entire area. Avoid at all costs. Arh that would be it FD, that would back the whole area up big time. OH dear sounds pretty bad to shut the bridges off.

Also try World Nomads - you apply online. I just checked that one and suggests as a UK resident you have to be in UK at time of purchase, ok if an expat, maybe will email them later.
