From AR take the E66 (emirates road as was) and come off at Al Ain junction far right lane. you will see a slip road to your right sign posted to Academic city road take this, it goes over a bridge over Al Ain road. You will come to a large Roundabout, take 3rd exit heading into what looks like buildings either side and i think a sign post saying Emirates staff only. At next roundabout take first right. Carry on to next roundabout and take 3rd exit heading to Cedre villas at that round about go back on yourself and head back to the top roundabout you just came from. Just before the roundabout is a slip road say 10 metres from roundabout to your right in front of a large building take this. The building is called the Solarium building on the Roundabout. On the ground level are cafe's and a beauty place, park here and go up to first floor and on right is Music Box offices. You can come in from Cedre villas as well off Emirates road . There will be someone tehre to answer phone on a saturday. google Dubai Silicon Oasis maps to give you an idea as well.

There have been many arguments on here previously about this topic as some get very emotional about it. Rotti's are very dominant dogs and not to be messed with. You do not know this dogs breeding, her genetics, her history. There is no medication or training that can resolve her issues, she has genetic traits that are dominant in her personality. She is doing her job in her eyes, it's just that your view of her role and hers are not the same and ultimatley not compatible. She is a working dog not a family live in a pack dog. Working dogs have a different drive and need different handling and training to your average family dog, rotti's especially are very much one person dogs. Now you could rehome, but the chances of actually finding the right home to accommodate her needs and drive are minimal to non existent here. The risk is she would go into a dog fighting home, disaster. You can not allow this dog to be in your house attacking your other dogs. The more she attacks the more nervous the other dogs become and the more she will attack them because they are showing fear, it's a vicious cicle. You certainly can not risk her bitting anyone and the reality is a bite to your GD could be a kill. Lets not underestimate that. So as hard as it is you need to seriously consider taking her to the vets and having her put down. It is the responsible thing to do. Call the vet, speak to them explain the situation and I am sure the good vets here will handle the case with kindness and sympathy.

RD is owned by a young Russian man. He is very business minded and subsequently runs the school in the most efficient manner possible. This includes terminating people on salaries that the company feel can be saved.they are head quartered in SZR and I suppose if you are a teacher, you'll be fine. If not then consider wisely. In addition you'd want to negotiate as best you can because a salary increment is about as likely as a snog from Brad Pitt. edited by HelenRhodes on 10/01/2013 Russian man?

All teachers are out on the pay scale according to qualifications and years of experience. "benefits" can be negotiated, never say never.

"Everyone wins" is such a startlingly insensitive comment that I can only assume you're connected to GEMS in some way. I know it's assumed by school administrators and landlords that everybody here gets handed as much money as they need for school fees and rent, but it's not true. You would do well to remember that. Not connected with GEMS but understand a good business move when I see one. If I was a housemaid I would be targeting 'white' expats as they are soft and the same with a school owner....he is doing it because he can and he will succeed, he always has. I would not do well to remember anything you write, I get no fees paid because I am not on a fancy expat package, but hey ho, who cares? It is all about supply and demand. "White" expats are soft???? Take a look at the higher end fee paying schools here and see the diversity of the parent body, or if you want the colour. What exactly is "white" anyway?

I think i would call the police and let them deal with it, this is your property he should not be storing anything on it without your permission. Why would a gardner have a brand new racing bike sitting in a bush? Some of these racing bikes are worth thousands, maybe take a look and see if it has a Wolfi's bike shop sticker, you could call then and find out who it belongs to. Is your gardener "fencing"!

If you are happy with the existing JC why move to the new one as it won't really be JC, new building , new staff, new head, new everything it will just have the name . The more people that remain in the existing school , so long as the fees are staying the same as now ,then this will to all intense perposes still continue to be JC , same school , same students, same curiculum , there are staff changes every year so whats new ? .......The head who will want to do his /her best to make their school the best they can as does every new head that comes every couple of years . I say all stay put and let Mr Varkey find new students to fill his super school ! Is the existing JC campus staying where it is?

The secret to early mornings for children is getting them to bed and asleep early, much earlier than you possibly are now and think is the correct time for them. In our house under 7 in bed by 6.30 asleep by 7. Children need sleep to function well. Breakfast cereals are great and ignore the below that states they are not. Together with a healthy lunch, snacks and dinner provide a well balanced diet. train your children to get up, get dressed, get their breakfasts and get going out the house at speed. It takes less than 20 minutes in this house to get out of bed into the car and that is not rushing. Narrow the time frames down, early nights and be organised. Reason for early school starts was to do with heat and culture, ie afternoon sleep as too hot (pre A/c) to work. However it's 2013 now and we have a/c and long working hours. UK kids in school by 8 am where we were, no difference.

Am I the only one who thinks it's harsh to define these children as having 'bad breeding' or neglectful parents because they were skateboarding in a community centre type area? I always feel sorry for pre-teens and teens here, it must be so boring! When I was 11 or 12 I was out all the time on my bicycle with friends, just cycling around our village, climbing trees, lots of laughs etc. At least these kids are entertaining themselves outdoors rather than sitting glued to an iPad or TV for 12 hours a day! Ok, possibly not in the smartest way (moving cars!), but still...doesn't sound too horrific. As for buying cigarettes - well I would never have dared, but I seem to remember that young boys can be dreadful show-offs, and doing things like that were typical of trying to look grown up and impress your friends. I'm sure if you take a look at some of humanity's best and brightest, a fair few of them did naughty things in their time. Nobody's perfect. No not at all, i completely agree with you and just posted before i saw your post! Some posters have far too much time on their hands!

A short moan? What about exactly? Kids being kids? A few kids playing on skateboards? What should they be in a mall or sitting in front of mindless computer games instead? How on earth does a few kids playing (which is what kids do btw) become a class/money/wealth parenting issue? A few kids were seen 'hugging affectionately' and it's to be complained about? Seriously take note from the younger generation and get some fresh air and enjoy life!

Children are both 14 so will be starting Year 10 in Sept 2013. You had better start looking at schools now and getting applications in for the school that suits your kids best, places for this year group will be very selective from some schools. Research the schools well and try to get some feedback from other parents about the school. Check class sizes, mixed ability/streaming, discipline, curriculum. You have to think about schooling harder here than in UK. Make sure your teens are ok with moving, this is a hard age to move kids, make sure you involve them and talk through everything.

DS is two and a half and I think we might be in the middle of the nap-dropping phase :(. Trouble is, he just can't function towards the end of the day if he doesn't nap! His behaviour can be challenging - to say the least - when he's not tired, but when he's tired he is just a little horror (in the nicest possible way). He then fights sleep when he goes to bed in the evening, and the end result of all this is him being ridiculously overtired and waking up in the night then getting up at stupid o'clock in the morning. This goes on for a couple of days then he has a good nap in the day and a good sleep at night, then the next day he refuses to nap in the day and it all starts over again. What to do?! Mine all stopped napping during the day well before that age. Suggest if you can a big morning of fresh air with some running around, lunch and then see if will have a short nap or at least quiet time for 30 mins. Early bed times, ie in bed for 6pm. Remember; Witching hour is called that for a reason!

The easiest option for all is Cedre villas and GEMS DSO senior school. The kids can cycle to school and get home without any need for transport or you being home etc. Nice area, great houses, economical bills, within budget. However renting in DSO is difficult as very popular but start now and you may find something. Contact DSO headquaters and they can often help with knowing if there are any rentals coming up. Always movement in Dubai so very possible, don't rule out. Gems DSO senior, make sure right school for your children. Very close is Repton , DESC, Jess AR, most schools have buses come through DSO. (extra cost) Living in DSO is the easiest option otehr wise consider the villa or AR.

While by no means an expert I think even a cursory understanding of terrorism and security issues globally allows one to assume that this sort of thing, this arrest, these cells being watched and arrested happens far more regularly here than we hear about. We are in a far more watched region - [b'>nowhere else would they have easily identifable 20 minutes of video of a group of assassins from another country entering an airport, wandering a hotel corridor etc etc. [/b'>My guess would be that releasing this latest incident has much more to do with sending others a message. I feel much safer here for a variety of reasons. Here is the trade off between a country with extensive civil rights and rights to privacy. Your privacy and your personal freedoms are restricted - but then that means everyone else's is as well which makes the ability to watch and arrest groups like these a far easier thing. I think you will find that in many other countries they would, just because security is not seen does not mean it is not there, and that applies to countries all over the world not just this region.

Some wonderful replies here. Trying for a baby (IVF etc) has to be to be up there as one of the best marriage destroyers. The friends i know who have been through this have all struggled with their marriages. Focuses seem to shift to almost obsessive about having a baby, one partner usually more obsessed than the other. Bodies pumped full of hormones, pain, upset, blame - total emotional turmoil. I would suggest you step back and re assess what's great in your life and why you married your DH. Are there any other ways you could fill this gap in your life? Fostering, adoption or working with children in some way?

You and your DH are on a very rocky road here, if this was one of my children i would be furious with you (& your DH) for breaking the trust given to you. It's disrespect all the way round, the sil for behaving in this way in your home, and to the father in law from all parties. You are a new mum and the last thing you need is this SIL treating your house and you so disrespectfully. You have allowed it to happen now IMHO you need to stop allowing this to happen for all concerned.

In Dubai a back pack and a ticket home won't get you very far in supporting another adult, let alone getting legal status and accomodation. You get a rubbish job (even they come with visas), a cheap shared rental and keep looking for something better. If it comes along, great. If not, at least you've tried. When I headed off overseas life wasn't about being financially secure, it was about new experiences and having a sense of adventure. Adventure or insanity? Don't see too many backpackers in this region, can't think why!

Well done Nippy for staying so strong. Do reach out to family and friends and do follow through with legal advice, this guy owes you big time. You will survive but the road is going to be long and hard, but you will get through this and look back in years to come and wonder how you ever did. Don't forget there are organistations in the Uk that you can talk to free and can support you emotionally and the boys. Also consider clarehdp offer. As soon as possible you need a legal letter written to your DH regarding money and payments, he can not get away with this behaviour. The daily fail is looking really tempting as well!

HM, firstly you are not alone, you are really up against it here as so many parents from what i see here just don't parent, which makes it incredibly difficult for those of us that do! I think you need to really get to the bottom of the cause and address that. You need to talk to your son and let him talk and listen to his reasons. You have to dig and dig hard. His self esteem is obviously (from your posts) on the floor and his in some form of turmoil but why? Start with family life, school, academic expectations, bullying, friendships.......dig and find out how his brain is thinking. Does he have a sport or focus that can be increased? How is he spending his spare time? What does he do? How much family time, you and DH time does he spend in a week? Is there something your DH can do with him? How much does he get hugged and told his loved? I still think you need to have consequences for actions but you need to find out the route cause of issues and explain clearly that you enforce sanctions because you love him and your job as a parent is to guide him through these years. Keep him busy, keep the positive vibes and positive open communication going, I know how hard that is but this may just help until you can see someone. good luck.

Whether we like to admit it or not, society here is based on a class system and your worth and opportunity for advancement is measured by your passport, skin color, last name, and other superficial things. It is extremely easy to get caught up in this discrimination and not one of us can claim that we have never imposed this sense of self-entitlement on others. Within reason there is some truth to this statement.
