Hmm, that is tough. Do you need to work? Really? Is there anyway you could take a year sabatical? Anyway "maid by post" seems to be an option from Anon! lol But please think hard about leaving a baby with a maid and whether there is any way you could manage to not go back to work for a bit or work from home?

Do you work full time? If not then you can just get an agency maid to help you with cleaning and unless you have some health problems you can cope without a maid, the human race has been managing for years to have babies without maids! You will be fine, don't stress about the small things in life, the safe delivery of your baby is more important. Ask neighbours, family and friends to help out when you are due with your other child.

It sounds very high! If the property is yours then look at Jim'll fix it on a as need basis. If it is under a landlord they should be responsible not you. If the property is new then check the builders’ warranty.

I really wondered if you were serious, but then i realised you are. I'm sorry but sick kids and having to be there to look after them is just part of parenting. If the kid is sick enough to be off school then they need to be with a family member/parent looking after them not a stranger. You will not find insurance that pays for babysitting!

OP, he's still trying (and partially succeeding) to control you, he's just changed tactics slightly. You MUST sever all connections with him and his family, change your phone and email and any other contact details and blank him. And stick to that. Anything else will drag you down, which is what he wants, and he will still be in control of how you live. Good luck, it must be very unpleasant and unsettling for you, but you can console yourself that you have had a very lucky escape. Whatever you do, don't let yourself be dragged back into a very destructive situation. edited by Livelytrish on 04/01/2015 edited by Livelytrish on 04/01/2015 Very very wise advice to the OP, follow this and enjoy your life.

Dr Makki Shuker and Dr John MacEwan are well recommended on this forum, I have used both over the years for my family and found them both very professional and knowledgeable, however i have not had surgery with either. Try a search on here for threads were people have had surgery.

Just saw a very disturbing video posted on fb about a maid beating up a toddler. Feel so sick. Please please install cameras. We all have our constraints but if we must leave kids with any help we MUST have surveillance. The irony here is that there was a camera recording the event, the baby still got hurt and camera or not the maid would have been found guilty as the poor wee thing was in her sole charge. How exactly did the camera help this wee child? edited by Lolacat on 05/01/2015

I personally know someone whose brother was molested by his nanny. They had her for years since they were small kids, and when the brother was 11 he finally told his parents about the molestation. She had been doing it for years but he had been too scared to tell his parents. This stuff does happen, you can thumbs down all you want. If that family had some cameras installed, they would have caught her a lot sooner and saved the boy years of torment. We wouldn't leave our precious diamond jewellery alone with the maids, but somehow think it's alright to leave our kids unsupervised with them for hours. edited by sourskittleashnut on 05/01/2015 It's a naive and rather sad world to rely on a camera for child care.

Hi BR, Happy new years best wishes. Yes i saw the gulfnews write up on them. There is a thread on it too...i did not bother to look as there are so many bad vibes from trolls on here..you can tell by the thumbs down. (Pointless) Its a good service I think for who needs it. I still did not find a suitable nanny seems the hunt is tedious for a good caregiver. Hmm, trolls? Trolls tend to set up user names and have a conversation with themselves or advertise in a subliminal way. Discussion and difference of opinion is not trolling.

I can recommend Dr Carol Smiley at Healthbay polyclinic in MIrdiff, she may well be able to advise and support you further with this minefield.

What about paying a qualified child care specialist to actually look after your child with the extra money spent on such gimics. And how does this protect a child outside, in the park, in the toilet? So a maid throws hots water or beats a child it's a bit late for a camera then isn't it?

You poor thing! shoulder will be referred pain, you are right you need to go now and get this seen asap, your body is telling you. Check your insurance as American Hospital is often not covered by some insurance companies. Probably best to go to City Hospital TBH or Rashid. If not critical then i would opt for City, but please do go today and get this dealt with.

Hi I fancy a low key family evening at the beach tonight. I know it's not normally allowed but I wonder if exceptions are made on NYE to having a bottle of sparkling to drink down there. Does anyone have experience? Thanks So you think an exception will be made to the strict drink laws here in a muslim country for NYE? Really? urm, NO, taking alcohol to a public place and consuming it is illegal.

Oh dear, Oh dear what a mess your employee has got herself into. Is the company willing to pay off the debt in one lump sum? But then will the employee actually stay? I would think now she is going to have to saty in jail for a few days as it is a holiday and the weekend unless you can get a lawyer onto it today who can work some magic. It does not look good though that she was absconding.

Thank you both ladies so very much for your prompt and helpful replies. I am glad to know that things have worked out for your DS, Di@Dxb, and if nothing else works I will surely ask for the information you have kindly offered (although in a big doubt if I could afford private treatment in UK). Lolacat I had a look at the website and I don't want to get my hopes up but something feels like I may be on the path to finding the right solution for this endless pain I am in. Thank you again! I love Expatwoman for this reason. They really are good and know what they are doing, Dr Anna is lovely you can talk this through with her and see what she suggests. I'm sure something can be done.

I am not British or western for that matter, but I'd say its better to "question" rather than wobble my head and lament [i'>"what to do, no[/i'>......." ROFL. [i'>"the educated, intelligent and worldly can embrace, respect and accept those differences regardless of their nationality. It doesn’t mean one is better than another, just different based on their cultural upbringing."[/i'> How true. Yes, and we can still have a chuckle about towels on sunbeds, eating breakfast off the table, standards of driving, bikinis as national dress, barbie loving, stiff upper-lips, Gigolos, sheep lovers one would hope!

Would like to know what's cooking in other homes, as this was pretty much what we had last year too. ... A bit 1970's. Try googling Gordon Ramsey, or even delia for some great course suggestions.

Ive just completed one day water cleanse - lost 1.8kgs in one day, bloating reduced - need to fit in my jeans Weds eve! Today IM drinking more water, 1 avocado in 2 halfs, and a yogurt. Hoping to lose another 0.5kgs in the next 24hrs. Then Im on a nutritionally balanced and programmed juice detox - 28 days this time - try it - www.juicemaster.com. Plan on losing another 15kgs by end of Jan..... 15 kg in a month is down right dangerous, i suggest you jog on down to a qualified GP and seek some expert advice on how to lose weight correctly and safely. Juice diets are notoriously bad for you. Try weight watchers.

Yet 'others' flooding in from Europe seem to get handouts left, right and centre The idea that British nationals are denied benefits but European immigrants get every benefit going is absolute and unequivocal nonsense. It's popular nonsense, for sure, but the fact that so many people believe it doesn't make it true. Makes me wish the UK would adopt the UAE policy of looking after your own first! Quite apart from the fact that UK *does not* "look after" immigrants to the exclusion of native-born Brits, it's a bit rich to complain about immigration and then hold the UAE up as some kind of example of a better way of doing it, given that the UAE's economic model absolutely relies on massive immigration, with the government doing everything possible to encourage immigrants to come here. It's the ones who have learned how to fiddle the system that spoil it for the rest You'll find *waaaaaaaay* more native-born Brits fiddling the system - and even then, benefit fraud really isn't a major issue, with the amounts of money involved being a truly tiny proportion of the overall benefits bill (yes, really). As ladymary pointed out, the overwhelming majority of Eastern European immigrants bring more to the economy than they take out. This has been statistically demonstrated time and time again. not just on the pages of the Daily Mail (does anyone actually admit to reading this? Come to think of it, does anyone actually read it at all?) It sells an average 1.6 million copies in the UK every day, and its website get an average 12 million unique readers each day. So yes, people do read it. good

I do so hate pointing out the obvious but, suggesting an area may be of some help if you require some feedback. No need to put your medical notes down for such a simple request. Just state an area and i'm sure someone will be able to make a suggestion.
