Salon ink is over-praised here, but they are really not special and are very expensive for what it is. They are doing an ok job, compared with the horror you get in general in average salons, but for this price, for god's sake, I rather keep trying. They are also very inflexible with appointments, and parking is difficult on weekends I agree with you 100% I shall email all of this to the owners I am sure they would want to receive feedback from disgruntled clients. Personally i and a few others on here go there and have had no problems whatsoever. parking is an issue on weekend due to Jumeriah Beach park i imagine. Hairdressers are expensive in this part of the world as are most beauty treatments compared to other countries however i have been to countless hairdressers here and they have wrecked my blond hair to the point it was falling out. These guys are the only ones i trust. You cannot pay enough for a decent hairdresser anywhere in the world.

A friend of mine used to go to Toni & Guy but his regular haircutter left Dubai and he is seeking somewhere else similiar. When I searched on here I only found bargain men's haircuts but he rather likes somewhere slightly lush though not way expensive. Any recommendations? thank you jetset at grosvenor house The mens salon 1864 at JBR ( I think i have the right number)

Hey all, Like so many others in Doha these days, my rent was just raised on me. They are attempting to raise it by 13% but several people have told me that the maximum that they can raise it by law is 10%. Anyone know if this is true? If so, where can I find something official about it? Does Doha have a rent committee or a rental calculator as Dubai has?

The tipping culture in this city is out of control. It seems that almost every service employee in every industry now expects to receive a tip for performing a service you have already paid for. I'll usually round up to the nearest AED5 so as to avoid getting any coins, but I won't go out of my way to tip every single person for simply doing their job (and often not to a particularly high standard). Absolutly ... Its now to the point where people ask for a tip ! I had a water heater break in my apartment, guy came out 3 times as he hadn't installed it properly, he held his hand out 3 times! as if i was gonna tip him

you say they are just doing their job, but isn't a perk of that job the fact that if you do it well you get a tip ?? I just think it's basic good manners, that's all..they've saved me the bother of getting off my lazy backside to go get my food so I reward them with a few dhs... And in an economy where there is no minimum wage they get paid little enough as it is !! I work long hours, am always polite, serve the general population and have good manners I have never been tipped and do not expect too however i rarely order takeout and pack and carry my own shopping therefore i do not tip. Call me tight i dont care but as one poster says it is getting out of control

I am going to probably get a lot of stick for this comment but I rarely tip, unless I have an amazing experience of service.... My reason for this is... if your job is a delivery driver why should I give a tip to you for simply doing your job. Do you tip your dentist when you go for a checkup? Do you tip your childrens teachers for teaching them everyday? I doubt it! A job is a job, you get paid a salary regardless how big or small and you should do your job to the best of your ability....to me a simple 'thank you' and a smile goes further than a tip that they may not even be allowed to keep. Agree, Mums dont get tipped for all the work they do, i dont get tipped so why should they If i tipped every service person i would be skint!

Hello Ladies. Quick question - I bought this pack of fresh pizza dough from lulu on 8th March (produced same day) and the expiry date is for 11th. The pack was stored on the normal bread shelf at the super market and without thinking I kept it on my kitchen shelf. Now I want to use it today and just realised that I should have refrigerated it at least. Can I still use it? I have to make pizza today and don't want to go back to lulu again for the fresh dough. P. S. I know the qs might be too petty for a thread but google is not helping much :) I would think it would be fine. I have used bread after the sell by date

Quality is variable but I've got a great chanel and a lovely chloe clutch. I would avoid anything LV though. In my experience is that a lot of shops have good and bad quality, and you get more of a discount if you buy 2+ pieces. Only bad experience I had was with a guy called Michael, who was great until the bag I got fell apart in a day and was reluctant to do a refund! Young British Indian with an East London accent, big shop (including some OK stuff, so pick carefully) Most of the bags are mare in China and there was a big raid a couple of months ago, hundreds of thousands of bags were seized. So wouldn't surprise me if there was less choice now I went last week. All the shops were open and so much choice Michael isnt the same one at greeneye he isnt an Indian. I will keep my eye out for him though!

Yesterday my husband & I were at the roundabout in Mirdif, so he kept the right lane then this woman is in the left lane and wants to turn right just before the exit we were gona take. OMW she managed to brake and she was so arrogant, followed us so we stopped but remained in the car. She got out, started screaming and threatening to call the police etc..but nothing happened to both cars. My question is..were we in the wrong? Maybe we don't understand the rules here? And if it was an accident obviously we would've stopped right there! For the 1st time since we got here, I felt very sad and missed home ;( is this how some people here are going to treat us just because we don't look/dress like them? Do we even have rights? It was sad to watch my husband being disrespected by some random woman & he just remained calm the whole time! How many lanes were there on the roundabout as believe me the way some people use roundabouts here is hilarious. I would just try and ignore eventually you will develop a thick skin

I'm on a limited contract, and need to leave my current company, I won't make the one year mark if I stayed so want to leave sooner rather than later. I know I'll automatically get a 6 month ban, possibly a year, but that doesn't concern me. What I do want to know is if I'll have a problem doing visa runs whilst I'm put on my husbands visa? Will I have any problems going on my husbands visa? Would be grateful of anyone's advice! Not thinking my company is goin to be very understanding and I need to know worst case scenario. Or anyone know if the MOL is helpful? I'm struggling for time to go there in person. Your ban is purely for immigration, which means you cannot work for the length of the ban You can go onto your Husbands visa no problem and you can do visa runs This happened to a friend of mine. The ban will go against a labor card

I would never buy a used bed or mattress on Dubizzle, far too personal an item. However, given your situation I would call the seller or even go round. If you are positive she would have known about the infestation I would not let it lie. That is disgusting behaviour, she should be ashamed! Lesson learned - I bought a pug off Dubizzle when I first arrived. A week later it had keeled down dead, with a long standing heart condition. Heartbreaking :( OMG that is terrible and i love pugs! edited by louisedvs on 07/03/2013

I think there's still more to this terrible story that I hope has been investigated. The blood test didn't even register the alcohol the girl had consumed backing up her story that she had only had a tiny amount and yet she was semi consious in the taxi and only had a partial memory of what happened.[b'> It sounds very likely to me that her drink was spiked with a date rape drug.[/b'> I've read about these cases before in the UK and her symptons sound horribly familiar. I assumed that was the conclusion which the police and judge had drawn. I don't know, can you test for Rohypnol that long after the event? If she was unconscious much of the time during the time they kept her in the flat, she was clearly being drugged in some way. It is very difficult to detect and leaves the system very quickly which is so scary

My friends twin Sister was spiked in the UK many years ago She disappeared out of the nightclub and thankfully the doormen saw that something wasnt quite right when 2 guys who were holding her up escorted her out of the nightclub She had no recollection after being spiked and thankfully her attackers were caught as i dread to think what could of happened. I never let my drink out of my sight anywhere in the world Alot of clubs in the UK only serve bottles with an adapted straw in so they cannot be spiked

It depends on what kind of makeup and style you like. You could go to a beauty salon instead so at least you have a bit of privacy rather than a counter. [b'>Alternatively, save your money, watch a YouTube tutorial and do it yourself.[/b'>[color=#CC0000'>[/color'> Never thought of that, have been thinking of taking a class, but will try this first. Thanks... Makeupbyeman is good She tends to use makeup forever and mac. I have followed her tutorials and they seem to work

You can also get electronic combs that fry the nits, or something. I got them when I was 9, used the medicated shampoo twice - it only killed the adults, not the eggs. My mum had to comb my hair with the nit comb for 3 weeks. UGH Me too and i had long hair ( i could sit on it) that was white blond My Brother told me to sit by the fire whilst the stuff was on my head as he read it was flammable! He does love me really

I am going to cause controversy but here goes..... At last, the cinemas are seeing sense. I am sick to the back teeth of parents using the cinema as some sort of childcare facility - dropping their little darlings off to watch a highly inappropriate film, feed them all sorts of junk food and expect them to behave on their own for 2 hours. Going to the cinema is just not an enjoyable experience. No controversy now if they would ban the talkers, mobile phones and nacho chompers the world would be a better place :-) I thought mentioning that would be a step too far! I feel most people would agree

You could post a free ad on Gulf News but that may attract similar people as Dubizzle. You never know unless you try. In my former position, my employer had me post vacancies on Gulf News, and ugh...1/10 of the applicants had related experience or degrees and although the ad was clear, I would still get a ton out-of-the-country applicants that wanted a skype interview, and requested to be flown in for an interview. ??? We use GNAD's ( that still makes me chuckle) and have some promising responses

Im hearing that all Syrians who have a bank account with HSBC are having their accounts and backgrounds checked and HSBC may make the choice to close their accounts whenever they decide. Is this true?? Are other banks doing the same or just HSBC? TIA I read Iranians, Sudanese and one nationaltiy other are having their accounts closed it was in the newpapers here due to the sanctions
