I wouldn't go near AAA. Something always goes wrong with the car 1 week, 2 weeks after getting it back. I've used these guys, small garage, very reasonable, but do take a while to get the job done. Catalytic convertor needed replaced on old Pathfinder, Nissan service center quoted 8000 Dhs, these guys did it for 1400 Dhs. No issues since. http://a2b-garage.com/ I have used them for 3 years never had a problem, all my colleagues use them too? Perhaps you were an unlucky one

I agree with all that age does play a role...exercise a positive role...and for arms etc with cellulite all these fat and cellulite melting machines do make a difference...ask me! Talking about vela smooth etc.Google it. I had 6 sessions of Vela smooth and yes it changed the appearance slightly however you have to keep having it done and only see results after 3 sessions. It is really expensive too and will not get rid of it all together

Typical. Just purchased a flight from Emirates yesterday. Xmas isnt on there though :-( Again, typical. haha. I am selfishly relieved to see that my flights also did not get the sale price (late Jan flights). The flight i wanted for Xmas was sold out and overbooked by September! They need to put another plane on the route :-)

Hi ladies, We have a slow leak in our Nissan's A/C which needs to be located & repaired. We're not interested in taking it to the dealer. Can you recommend a good garage? TIA I have been to AAA garage in Al Quoz dealt with a British guy, they have a website

[b'> i've started exercising for 2 weeks, about 3 times a week focusing on leg exercises. I am still however frustrated, it seems that nothings happening.. [/b'> it's only been two weeks. Don't give up because you're frustrated, or it will never reduce. [b'>I'm thinking of cellulite massages.. do they work?[/b'> You would not see much of a difference; it's money down the drain. Plus, the tissue is essentially damaged. The last thing you want to do is get a vigorous massage. Just try and be patient. I know it's aggravating; I had a ton of cellulite in my teens. How did you get rid of it? What changed? Body brush., lots of water, do not drink caffeine, smoke etc Some people are prone to it, my friend is a size 6, eats healthy, drinks sooo much water, runs etc and has it.

A friend recommended Medised (apparently a cough medicine available from the UK). I am flying home to Oz for Xmas with a one year old. A mate said it will 'knock out' my little one for half the flight. Obviously this sounds like a dream flight (LOL) but I also don't want to be dru*ging my little man. Have you used it? What age was your child? My baby is 1. Do you recommend it? Is it safe? Phenergan liquid used to be the prefered choice for getting children to sleep Or any antihistine drowsy medicine, i think Medised contains the antihistamine diphenhydramine. It can be a strong sedative for some however it depends on the dosage and i imagine the doseage for a child will be very low. ( It can be given after 3 months) Only around 2.5ml to 5mls. We used to prescribe it many years ago at the hospital pharmacy however i havent been in that industry for 12 years

Are you in the cheap seats? My other two friends are going aswell Sandance this week, Mixtape Rewind, Race to Dubai and Rugby 7's agh too much going on! Nope, I am in the Golden Circle I am hoping to be at Race to Dubai and OH is celebrating his brithday at Rugby 7's ;) You are posh i cannot warrant the expensive ones as there is too much going on and i am away home for Xmas. Media City is a good venue and you can see from every angle... Perhaps catch up at Race to Dubai :-) Sounds like a plan, I won the tickets - so luckily didn't have to pay full price ;) x edited by pollydxb1 on 06/11/2012 Well done you, i will send you my no through linked in. Does anybody know where to get bark or mulch for my garden beds? I would prefer mulch if it is sold anywhere in Dubai. I found a thread on here that mentioned a company that mulches palm trunks however I tried to contact them and they have closed down. Any suggestions appreciated - I desperately need this to put the finishing touches on our new garden! TIA Have you tried the Garden centre on SZR? if you call them they may help as most of the staff speak very good English

I have an app on my phone called sleepmaker, i switch it on and put it behind the curtains. The one i have is rain related ( Don't laugh) and the sound of the rain lulls me to sleep and i do not here the noisy women next door! Hi, Can I ask what may be a silly question - if you have a song/white noise/music or anything that plays from your phone all night, how does your phone battery hold up? Or is it set to stop playing the noise after a certain amount of time, and that then assumes you are alseep by then. Thank you :) It finishes after a certain amount of time and my phone is plugged in to the charger I love it! It plays rain, thunder, storms, wind haha reminds me of home UK It is a free app too Hahaha, I'm sure I will love it - not certain about hubby though... Ready to try anything to drown out the constant SZR noises though :) I am sure that i read that the volume at Mosques in the capital is very very low as not to disturb people

Hi, My university flatmate is going to be transitting for a few hours at Terminal 3 on Sunday morning and she has suggested meeting for a coffee. Is it really worth her while coming out to see me, or is it a pain? Anyone have any experience of this? Given I'll probably see her at Christmas anyway! Also, is it best to meet her in Arrivals and drop her back to Departures? I can't remember how far apart they are. Is it possible to get coffee at Departures? Many thanks FFx Hello Arrivals has a coffee place although i have never looked in departures as i normally go straight through to duty free. You can walk between arrivals and departures easily She should get through immigration quite quick as it very busy at 12am when most of the European flights come in i would think in the morning it will be alot quieter edited by louisedvs on 05/11/2012

Mine have been almost immediately, however i have always dealt with good LL and not real estate agents Any buildings you might recommend? I live in the Greens but got mine through Dubizzle I try wherever possible never to deal with agents as all the ones i have dealt with were useless, never turned up to show me the property yet charged me a small fortune. It is LL all the way for me

How long does it take to get keys etc for a new apartment after you've viewed it? In AD it's just a few days but I'm wondering if it takes longer in Dubai as it seems a more complicated process with all the registering and stuff Mine have been almost immediately, however i have always dealt with good LL and not real estate agents

My friend rented an apartment in Fox Hill 2 weeks ago. He paid everything and was told by Betterhomes that the contract and the key will come in 1 week. Now after two weeks.....nothing. Betterhomes saying the owner is sick, he cant sign and we cant go to his house as he is VIP. What are my friends rights....as he allready had to leave his old apartment, living out of a suitcase now. Need to buy furniture which he cant as he cant put it in the house. Call RERA or ask to speak to the most senior person at Better Homes, threaten them with RERA... I wouldnt give them any cheques until i got the keys

my dad passed a year ago and left me money Would be be entitled to that? I dont think so no, i would probably get legal advice though just to be sure There are lots of multinational UK legal companies in Dubai i would Google them and perhaps see if you can speak/meet with one of them. I offshored most of my money which can't be touched by a spouse. I know that may sound harsh but i wanted to protect my assets and he was okay with that as my house and money came before he did. I would only of claimed monies from him if we would of had kids.

no kids, He owns a house in the UK, and i have my dads house. I would ask the solicitor about that, thankfully we didnt have any children and our own property and our divorce was amicable we both just split all savings ( from when were together down the middle) I think in relation to property that you both own you would have to prove that you contributed financially towards his house and vice versa in order to claim anything if you got divorced. Other posters may advise further info

I dont know anything but I have seen some very good results from people who have gone for surgeries at Cosmesurge. Apparently they have some of the best surgeons around. Thank you for your advice, I heared about Cosmesurge in Jumeirah and about the Absamc in Deira, a friend of mine went to the Absamc & she underwent a breast surgery with a female surgeon and she was happy, I may go to see her but I would like to have mutliple opnions and would prefer a female surgeon.I want to know if the Liposucction is painful from anyone experience in the forum? and what is the recovery period? how long I need to go out again? Thank you edited by Sabine F on 05/11/2012 My friend had it done in Europe and said it was the most painful thing she has ever been though and she has had a breast reduction. She had to wear a spanx like outfit however i dont remember her laid up for long though

I know there are many people here on great packages but these are becoming more rare to come by, as are decent jobs. I think there will be fewer ladies of leisure and more 2-income households before long. Also - I find the hardcore savers tend to be extremely tight and live incredibly frugally so it is a huge dedication (eg bringing lunch into work every day, never going out for nice meals, always being the last to buy a round lol!) whereas most people also want to enjoy their lifestyle. I don't think the packages are becoming rare to come by, far from it. I see more and more people moving over here for smaller packages than before. The big packages are still there, but Dubai is no longer only for the elite top executives. Gone are the days of Dubai being seen as a hardship posting. Everyone wants to be in Dubai and they are willing to come for less and less. Hardcore savers are not all living frugally, most of them are earning mega bucks and can afford to save well at the same time as spending well. I couldnt agree more, cost of living has rocketed over the years too

We are considering a career move that may take us to either Singapore or Bangkok, Thailand. I was wondering of anyone has lived in either place and can offer advice? Pros and Cons for a family with young children. Tuition would be covered as would be housing in both locations. But what about other living costs, taxes, transportation, weather? Activities for young children compared to what we have in Dubai which is endless it seems. Thank you for your help Have friends in both. Singapore is expensive, much more than Dubai however the public transport system is fantastic and not too expensive. Climate can be very humid but not as hot as Dubai ( I was literally drenched in sweat when i last went in June) running a car is really really expensive. I found the Singaporeans really nice and chatty and the place is sooooo clean. I would say that there is about as much to do there as there is in Dubai. I cannot comment on the taxes although i imagine they are very high. My friend works longer hours than she did in Dubai as it is expected of staff. I have been to Bangkok 3 times and personally speaking do not like it there at all It is cheap but i found it dirty and seedy. I do not know what it would be like to live there however i would prefer Singapore any day
