I had an amazing girl who used to do my blonde highlights. Sadly she returned to the U.K. So I went to a hairdresser on the Beach Road. Worst mistake of my entire life. I just wanted a few blonde highlights. Rather than going into the full tragic story my hair is ruined and I mean ruined. It's snapped so much and is frizzy on top. I did have a lovely bob. I'm treating it myself everyday now. They gave me a treatment after me having to pay 50 dhs each way again by taxi. They offered me a Brazilian blowout which would have damaged my hair more. Offered me nail treatments which I declined as that wouldn't help my hair. They had no idea how to colour my hair and I have been so upset I was even in tears in the salon as they even turned my hair grey and I mean grey. I don't want to go back but I really need help. I'm so sick of people ruining my hair here and paying for the privilege. Please can someone recommend an amazing hair dresser that knows her stuff that may be able to rescue what I have left. I feel like I have been left with a full block colour of white and yellow and now my roots are coming through and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I thought I had learnt my lesson years ago but now I'm back to square one. I don't care the cost now just need serious help. Any great advice would be really appreciated. TIA. My hairdresser is amazing at blondes ,she’s british and blonde herself which I think helps. she’s been doing my hair for 10 years and I always get compliments, she’s fixed a lot of my friends home colour disaster too. She works at Rossano Ferretti on beach road. check out her Instagram http://instagram.com/jennieindubai_hair X

Jenny at pastels Al Wasl road does my hair, it's always amazing and over the years we have tried many different colours, she used olaplex on my hair last time i went from dark brown to light blonde with no damage, it's fantastic !

Jennie at Pastels Jumeirah 043883534. She is by far the best hairdresser Iv had, amazing at extensions ,she is British and been doing my hair for years. Only uses Great Lengths extensions, for a full head I think it's about 4000 dhs. Hope this helps

Keratin treatment is the only product to remediate my hair from frizz and damage, I only wish I found it years ago before spending so much money on conditioning treatments. It's an absolute miracle !

I wouldn't go to anyone else. I know shes very popular with all the emirates cabin crew blondes :)

I thought it did have good access to szr , no more that 1 or 2 mins to get on for me yesterday. Although yes the entrance at the moment is like a dirt track and does test the suspension on the car well ! That was the one minus for sure...

Hi Meagle, I have been looking the past 2 weeks so will give you an idea on the buildings that have been available etc. JLT the good - By good I mean value for money , size , finish and facilities. Gold Crest Views/Executive , Al Seef , Al Saba (most are fully furnished) , Lakeshore Tower , Lake Terrace by damac, X1 Tower ( good sizes , most no appliances , basic/plain decor in the building lobbys) I did ask a guy in the lift how he liked living there and he said he was moving asap as he has had alot of trouble with the apt and building maintenance. JLT the bad - Global Lake view (the worst building in JLT imo , pool is tiny and broken , awful smells, bad finishing, dirty, tiger developer ... says it all) Dubai Gate 1 ( newly released building - small apartments max 1300sqft bad finishing etc) Lake city point - bad finising/building etc. Marina - The good ( Towers opposite le meridien nr to marina walk) Sulafa tower , nice bright clean apartments with good access on and off sheik zyed road. A short walk to marina walk- 2bed 90K 3 bed 130K with free chiller. My friend has a 1 bed and pays 120-160aed per month in dewa . Mag 218 - Good finish same location as above - on the more expensive side. Ocean heights - Nice building and facilities , can be rather expensive for a spacious 2 bed same area as above also The Torch - Great building and facilites , most seem to have appliances inc. same location as the above. BAD - Marina Pinnacle ( new building although mould in most of the apartments, bad fittings , looked like 10 families had lived there previously) - Tiger building Marina - Other end of town near to Marina Mall Good - La Riviera (If living in this building make sure you have maintenance covered, I lived there for a few years and had problems with AC - There is no chiller. Cascades, Marina Mansions (very large apartments with tennis courts) Marina Sail, Zumerud (although I thought apartments were on the smaller side) . These are all in my opinion of course ! Hopefully others can give their input also. Another tip - Called an agent yesterday and on a few apartments she said the Landlord is asking 130K but will accept 100 and he may take 4 cheques not 1 so make sure you do make an offer :)

Hi Sparkly, My period returned after 8-9weeks with DD. Unfortunatley for me it did effect my breastmilk. I found her to be extremely fussy and feeding non stop every hour for the week of my period and a few days after I could barely pump 1 ounce from both breasts when before I was pumping 6ozs from each, then the days following that when I squeezed nothing came . I felt no let down ,nothing .... my milk had completely dried up. When I stopped had no swelling/pain either. It was a very upsetting time, but once I put her on formula she seemed to be a different baby than the previous 2 weeks. We went to the Dr and she talked about the hormonal change with the period and effects on milk - in my case drying up- although very rare it can happen. Maybe talk to a midwife , advice we were given was to regularly feed to boost supply and also use fenugreek. All the best to you x edited by lucky4uitsme on 16/07/2012

Hi DallyDoo I would reccomend buying the baby monitors from the UK - up to half the price and the latest/more models available, if you google there are some sites that deliver here (babymonitors.co.uk) Although can be up to 40 pounds shipping charge. We just bought a new video monitor as our baby was rolling over and getting stuck... and getting herself into allsorts of weird positions so video was a must for us especially with a villa. Changing bags and accessories for your pram depending on which one are generally cheaper in the UK , pink lining bags deliver here from the UK and many others from memory. As you have probably seen mama and papas , mothercare prices in Dubai compared to back home are rather substantial. There is a mama and papas at the outlet mall which I hear has good deals on furniture and clothes and there is also a mothercare type outlet at inbatutta which is good for sleepsuits and vests, up to half the price of the normal stores. Will have a check and get back to you if I can think of anything else (have severe baby brain :)

I agreed this week with Rachel going, her 2 songs just didn't do her justice and she sounded ordinary. I think Nicole will be fine, America gave Rachel the lowest votes so not sure why she should receive a backlash for it.

Can reccomend Karim at Caras GD Park. He gives a good base price which can be worked around and you can trust the prices etc. Shop around first get a feeling for what VS and size you want whether cert or not and you will soon get an idea of the average price expected to pay. Is it the norm now for engagement rings to be pre-picked and chosen rather than the man "POP" the question? A family member just did the same. I suppose with some mens taste it could work in your favour :D

After i spend every second of my life rescuing animals.....SO DISGUSTING....SO UPSETTING... Thought someone must be onto this already Kristina_rmnv , thanks for letting us know ... Cant believe they are in actual fact opening a shop ! Oh Dear JoannaS hope you are ok. Thanks for the warning. Also if I can add from the JVT Group , there was a attempted robbery in JVT a few weeks back a lady came home and found the robber in her bedroom , he soon ran out. The police think he was looking for jewlery and came through the sliding doors at the back. So make sure if you have these they are reinforced by wood etc. Have heard similar stories back in the UK.... I think some people get more desparate around this time of year.

Just a thought if you're on a tight budget - what about a Frog or a Gecko? They're essentially the same buggy, just older versions (the Frog was pre-Cameleon and the Gecko the one before that). There are a few differences but probably not so many you'd really notice much. I saw a Frog on Dubizzle last week for around 700dhs, I think. was in touch with your friend last week, but hadn't got a chance to meet with her, since i work 5 days a week :(. That to was a frog bassinet with the chaiss which was the chameleon. She has asked for 1200. Would love to get the bugaboo chameleon though. I saw one on Dubizzle yesterday for 1600-1800 ? Might be worth checking out :)

Goodmorning fairwater, I would be very interested in giving a puppy a home as we recently had a very bad experience with an imported sick dog that we had to return, and therefore decided we would only ever consider a home bread dog from now on. My email is [email protected], I look forward to hearing from you. Have this terrible image in my mind now of this poor little thing being returned to who knows what fate because it was sick. But I suppose that is what happens when you support the puppy mill machine........its all about the money. edited by Nomad on 10/11/2011 Exactly Nomad.... :(

I wouldnt go to anyone else after being here for 4 years and having so many nightmares. Have gone from blonde to brown to highlights back to brown again with Jennie and will be driving her crazy having highlights in again after this pregnancy :)

Nipy35 a saw the same thing a couple of weeks back , was on the hatta/oman road past dragonmart and there was a land cruiser swerving all over the lanes. Cautiously I tried to get past him and what do I see ? A 2-3 year old sat on daddys lap steering the car ?! Going 90-100kph. It was a saudi plate but still ... was very shocked someone would do that on a main highway which was relatively busy ... shocking. edited by lucky4uitsme on 06/10/2011
