There's a teacher supply store on Jumeriah Beach Road. Don't remember the name of the building but it's where it has Burger King and Automatic Restaurant.

Maclaren Techno XT and XLR lie completely flat. They are lightweight and great. Will be buying one soon just waiting for the sale.

How about Florida? You can visit the amusement parks in Orlando (Universal Studios, Disney World, Islands of Adventure, Sea World) I always go on Emirates 14 hrs straight flight from Dubai to NY. <em>edited by LuLee on 19/04/2011</em>

Orlando to Miami is about 4 Hours using the Florida Turnpike. However, I-95 will take you down the coastline. You will have more traffic but you will go through cities and have places to stop along the way. Beach towns, NASA, etc.. I prefer it to the turnpike unless you are in a hurry. If you just want to get there, take the turnpike. It will be less crowded but there is not really anyplace to stop other than a few rest areas along the way for small snacks, bathroom breaks, etc. Personally I don't enjoy Miami, but that is just me. I am not a city person. :) I recommend driving all the way to the Florida Keys/Key West. It's a beautiful drive. Hope that helps! Let me know if I can answer anything else. I grew up in Florida. :) So I will do my best. There are some factory outlets in Orlando, if you are up for shopping :) edited by RubyRed on 17/04/2011 wheres the best place to buy tickets for disney etc. My husband and I went 5 years ago and I remember we purchased the tickets online (not sure which one). We thought it would be much more once we got to the parks. Then we were at Sizzlers for lunch and a lady there at the counter was selling tickets to access all the parks I believe half the price. My husband and I were so shocked they were going so cheap. We went to another place to eat and it was the same thing. It seems like they sell them at every restaurant. <em>edited by LuLee on 17/04/2011</em>

For me ASD, you hardly find anything negative about this school. Repton seems to get bashed a lot on this forum. Use your search function and you will see.

I'm 10 weeks :) I went at 6 weeks and she did a vaginal ultrasound. I'm still deciding if I should continue to go to the Iranian Hospital (haven't confirmed with DH, still need to check with his insurance) Wow you are almost there. Good luck, inshAllah a safe delivery :)

I'm also thinking of buying another stroller and looking at all the Maclaren strollers. Here's what I know the triumph does not recline fully. It is suitable from 3 months so I think you should be okay. I believe this is the same for the Quest, but I read somewhere that the Quest reclines more. The only difference is the Quest has an adjustable footrest. I would go to the store that have both and test them and see what you feel comfortable with.

I had no epidural with both of my pregnancies. My first pregnancy I went into the hospital and I was dilated at 8cm so the doctor would not give me the epidural. With my 2nd I was doing great for the first 3 hours of contractions, I was in control and then in the 4th hour that's it I was out of control. I couldn't take it any more. I was begging for the epidural, but the midwives and nurses were reassuring me I was doing so good and I was almost there. 30 minutes later I had my son. I think if the circumstances were different and I was in labor for longer periods I would definitely have an epidural.

I had a similar problem LuLee but it went thanks to laser hair removal. Yes it was expensive as I paid AED2000 almost 4 years ago for half legs, knees & below but it is money well spent. Go for it. Is that just for 1 session? How many sessions did you need?

there is a solution you can buy - and i'm sure i've seen it in boots - it's called Tend Skin. dark blue bottle but I think Boots also do their own version - check the shaving section. http://www.tendskin.com/index.htm It has aspirin in it which somehow helps. I used to swear by it before I got my bikini line lasered. Thank you so much. This is exactly what I'm looking for. I checked on amazon for reviews (4.1 stars) so that's pretty good.

Yes I was thinking about laser, it really works for my facial hairs. For legs, it'll be very expensive. I'll probably need 20 sessions. Aaah I was hoping there were some sort of of solution I can buy at the pharmacy. I read if you mix alcohol and aspirin and apply to the area it works, but haven't tried it. <em>edited by LuLee on 09/04/2011</em>

Agree with ashesf, I think 1-2 days in Venice is more than enough. It's a tiny place, you could see the St. Mark's Square (feed the pigeons) and the bell tower, Saint Mark's Basilica, Rialto Bridge the grand canal and ride on a gondola and the rest of your time in Rome.

I haven't weaned my DD yet. I am afraid that's going to be a hard one. I think I had it easier because I was already giving him cow's milk in the morning and before bed and only breast feeding at night so he can go back to sleep. When you know she wants your breast, continue saying NO and give her milk in a sippy cup?

Just to let you all know that my now 2 year-old is finally sleeping through the night. I didn't do the cry-it-out method but I just kept on saying no to her every time she woke up during the night and eventually she just stopped waking up for milk. It only took two years! :) Congratulations AnonDubai. I'm very happy for you. I weaned my almost 14 month old and now sleeps through the night. I figured he was only waking up because he wanted the breast for comfort. He occasionally wakes up but I shush and pat and he goes right back.

Hi I am an addict too :) We record it and watch it with an hours delay so we can fast forward all the adverts and still finish at the same time as the "live" show! Not too sure I could sit through the 2 hours of adverts!! We are loving Casey and a late favourite for us is Hayley after hearing her sing Elton last week! Pia without doubt has a great voice but performance wise dull dull dull, yes she is pretty but are her feet glued to the floor?? Would go to a Paul concert tomorrow he is great :) Anyone know what this weeks theme/artist is? This weeks theme is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame :) <em>edited by LuLee on 04/04/2011</em>

We went there today for the 430 show and OMG it was jam packed. We got there at 3:50 and they were not allowing anymore kids/parents on the floor so we found a spot on the 2nd floor. It was our luck because we were circling the floor until we found a decent place and one of the girls had to go pee so we were able to take her spot :) Be warned there were a lot of pushing and shoving and if you go early make sure you take snacks and drinks with you and of course have them use the bathroom before you sit. I'm not sure how the 7 and 9pm show but I'm assuming it's more crowded. There were no VIP seats. If you park near to the door where PF changs, tribes, more cafe then you'll be in the center. Just walk straight and you'll see the banners.

It's strange that the supermarket pot herbs (well have only purchased the basil) do not last. Have tried bottled water, tap water, keeping in the fridge, keeping out of the fridge, keeping in a cool room on the side of the house and they always die in a day or two. Must be a conspiracy from the supermarkets so we have to keep buying ;) Zannie, did you buy any tomatoes from this place? If so, how much per KG were they? edited by Pomegranate on 25/03/2011 I have not bought from them, they only deliver to the JLT area, but here's the price for the tomatoes Beef Tomato (indoor) kg 12 Cherry Tomato Red pack 8 Cherry Tomato Mix pack 8 Cherry Tomato Black pack 8 Cherry Tomato Yellow pack 8 Cherry Tomato White pack 8 Cherry Tomato Plum pack 8 Cherry Tomato Truss pack 10 Plum Tomato Big Red kg 25 Plum Tomato Big Yellow kg 25

Bare Escentuals mineral makeup I guess I'm the only one not loving this. I have the kit with 3 powders ( no liquads) and I feel like it brings out every crevase on my face! maybe i should try to add the liquad to it? I'll have to check out makeupalley also Do you put their primer (good reviews online) on before the foundation. I don't use their primer but my sis does and doesn't get any creases. HTH

nutty: LOL @ "your fellow passengers as most come from sub continent and leave the aircraft smelling of curry with all their special meals being ordered." I'm from the subcontinent too, so will feel right at home..... LOL.... [b'>haha good one :)[/b'> marycatherine: would've loved to fly Emirates, but i've been told that we will have to go through immigration twice -- at JFK and then again at Dulles, Washington -- also my dad's done the JFK route and he's told us to stay clear of that one, coz it's quite a hassle. Forgot about that, the last time I went was with DD and when I got to JFK I had to get my baggage and go through the whole process again to get out of New York. It was a pain, was travelling alone and had to sit DD on the suitcase on the trolley. It was a hassle big time :( I will be doing the journey again with DD and DS but with DH this time. <em>edited by LuLee on 23/03/2011</em>

I went last week (walk in) and took me 2.5 hours from start to finish. Can you make an appt to see a gynecologist? How about the pre-natal checkups? Do you have to tell them what tests need to be done? I really felt like I had to ask for this and that. It does look like there are more ppl going to Iranian hospital now. Unfortunately, you can't make appt., but if you selected the gyn already, call in the morn and check if she is there, then go straight there. You will have to wait though for your turn. Same with check ups. They will tell you what tests need to be done, don't worry, unless you want to have some other tests for your knowledge. As for the asking, yes, you have to ask everything if you have any questions. Don't be afraid, just do it. Thanks for your feedback dramaqn. I couldn't believe it was only 50aed for an ultrasound. I could only go on a Saturday so my DH can watch the 2 kids. So whoever is there on Saturday will c me, is that okay? Do you know when is the best time to go on a Saturday? I went around 11am and it was packed. Do they keep a folder with all your information? They gave me an ultrasound pic with a paper with my weight/BP and how many weeks I'm pregnant. I saw Dr. Fariba (spelling) and thought she was okay. I have low expectations tbh as long as they can speak and understand english, I'll be fine :) Sorry for all the questions.

I've been meaning to call her too but not until I try it on my own. I've tried before but very breifly than had visitors and then MIL came to visit and ruined everything. I have a 3 year old who sleeps on my bed and my 1 year old is in his cot in our room currently. He was in his own room but with the visitors I had to move him in with us. Aaaaaaaah I should've moved DD a long time ago. Everytime I delay it, it'll get harder. She's really not the issue, my DS is 1 year old and still wakes up a couple times at night to feed. I'm trying to stop that, but it's really hard listening to him cry. I need to suck it up and do it. I hope it will work out for you. Do it now before number three comes. That is my biggest regret now. I should have sorted out DD 1's sleeping issues before DD 2 came along. Oh yes definitely need to sort both out before #3 comes along. I hope it works out for you Anon :) It's never too late.
