OP I don't know what your cultural background is but i think it has a big baring on all of the advice you are being given on here, my own included. I hope that you are not feeling as sad as before and have been able to talk to your husband. A further two cents from myself is that even if it is culturally outside your norm for men and women to be friends, you live in Dubai which is melting pot for many cultures perhaps your husband is seeing a different side to life, without seeing anything more than a friendship. I whole hardheartedly disagree that men and women cannot be friends as i said in my post i have two brothers these were my first friends, one of them is still my closet friend, what female friendship can come close to that? Granted its easy for me to say this as I am not in your shoes please don't take offence but just think about it. If this friendship makes your husband happy is there anyway that you can make it work? It may be the case that this person happens to be a women, rather than his is friends with her because she is a woman? I truly hope that you have been able to talk to him and make your feelings known, whatever about male or female your relationship should come first no matter what.

Personally I haven't had a very good experience with Fitness First. To be fair the equipment and facilities are excellent. Firstly its very expensive I used to be a member of fitness 360 which also had good equipment and a ladies gym (mazaya centre) and was much cheaper. I had 2/3 PT sessions with a lovely SA girl who really understood where i was coming from and where I wanted to go with my fitness. I left when my membership was up as my work and apt had moved and FF was closer. Even though it was more expensive i went for it they had more classes and a pool in the gym i was joining and being a platinum i had access to all the others. All great benefits.... BUT the PT which i got for three sessions as part of my joining fee was really rude I was recovering from abdominal surgery and a badly injured ankle so i certainly wasn't at my best but I had explained all this when we started and yet he made snide comments about my weight and kept saying it was only so hard because i was 'so' unfit. I found this totally demoralizing so cancelled my other two sessions (after trying to get another PT, none available at the times i could get there) and just got about using the gym. I swear getting to the equipment is like running a gantlet trying to avoid someone selling you pt sessions (even when they can't find one when i ask!) I get its their livelihood but i just want to my bit in piece by all means tell me if am going to injury myself doing something incorrectly but harassing me when i am on a treadmill?? I can't run and talk, so i can either be rude and make gestures to get them to leave me alone or i stop lose my rhythm and ask to leave me alone, they are never available just then as they are on the 'floor'. As for the classes, if you are new to a course and have any coordination issues/are just a bit slow to pick things up(like me) you haven't got a hope of figuring out whats going on!

It sounds like this is really upsetting you and while i don't suggest playing games but I think you need to be tactical about how you deal with it. As Marroosh has said explain how you feel in a practical way, personally I would ask him to cut back, rather than cut it off as a few people have said this might drive it underground which is where it can go places you don't want it too. I have quiet a few close male friends but i don't have sisters, only two brothers, and in my line of work i mostly deal with men. I have always found it easier and less b*tchy, men can rarely hide if they have feelings of more than friendship and where this was the case for me i made my feelings clear and on a few occasions cut back the friendship for both our sake's. For me I don't understand why so many ladies on here think males and females would have nothing to talk about unless they are in a relationship...? I adore my husband but we have fairly diverse interests, I like a good debate he is very non confrontational, I'm not about to push him into discussions that don't appeal to him when i have friends that would love discuss the topic. I don't why i need to give up my interests (non threatening) to suit anyone. I am talking about interests not emotional stuff. We both have mixed groups of friends and it has been this way since before we met. All of these friends attended our wedding. I just worry that if you push your husband you may create an emotional level to their relationship that might not already be there. Creating a you and them you are making them the couple.... I hope that your husband listens and that can move forward together and this woman stays in the sidelines... edited by mannikat on 04/08/2013

Fast food should be eaten immediately. Lukewarm soggy burger - yuck yuck! Fries need to be piping hot. We have berks in the office who order ICECREAM SUNDAES from the McD's delivery *facepalm* BERK I love this word haven't heard it in years!! I have never heard it before. What does it mean? I thought it was a typo for jerks. Pretty much the same thing just more dumb than intentionally rude. One of my teachers used to use it in school.

Hi Jill, Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I went through something similar about a year ago and I went to Sabina Christensen in lifeworks. She was amazing, we just clicked and her methods worked for me, I thought I had depression, as I was wreck for months but it turned out it was actually PTSD, so the depression was actually a symptom itself. She recommended Dr Nicola Deamer in Health Bay in Mirdiff who was also a great help. I am back on track now, thankfully and feeling very mentally healthy. What i really liked was she wasn't in a rush to medicate, she got to the root of it and worked from there. Good luck and I hope you find the right person to help you through.

I've had to do a lot of research on this for work as we have staff in Saudi. Crashing Waves that is good news about the Vaccine, however there is no mention of this on the WHO or CDC websites. The amount of people traveling for pilgrimage is a worry. The recommend mask is N95 respirator, it must be tight to your face. At the moment research is ongoing regarding transmittal. The present the fatality rate is approx 52%, BUT in almost all these cases there were under lying respiratory conditions that were exacerbated by MERS. The average age as of June was 56 (unfortunately there were two children who contracted if from their dad). Anyone feeling flu like symptoms for over three days should get checked as a precaution. I am not trying to worry anyone, i am just sharing info i have gather from the WHO and CDC, this gets updated regularly so please feel to correct me if anyone has more up to date info.

Bought an oven and some furniture there. Great service! So much easier than driving around Dubai searching for Dubizzle bargains, although I still do sometimes!

I have to agree with MrsPineapples about people giving those who look fit and well filthy looks for waiting for a packer to assist, because they cannot. For those who stare daggers at you when you get in an elevator when they think that you could have used the escalator. As for queue jumping, perhaps their eyes are not up to par. jk, seriously, that one gets me too. On a side, I wish that C4 had a queue for cash/2 items and that would take a load of pressure off. The people I speak of work in my building and are able bodied.( I see many of them in the gym and throwing themselves round a dancefloor on the weekend) I find it is usually a loaf and a packet of cigarettes that they cannot be bothered packing themselves. But why does that matter if they're able-bodied or not? There are packers at the check-out line for a reason...that's what they're paid to do. Whether or not you have a cart-full or a pack of gum, it shouldn't matter. If you read my original post we were taking about a huge queue taking forever and people not packing their own items when there is no packer there and the cashier has to do it. There are rarely bag packers at my local spinneys. I really don't think that everyone that doesn't pack their bags doesn't do it because they can't. Also I am not talking about a trolley or a cart. I said basket, if you can carry it around the shop and fill it I don't see why packing bags is different also these people carry the bags out of the store.... its my pet peeve. I don't say anything, I don't throw daggers as I don't know why they are doing it, but in my pitiful human-ness some days internally I just fume! I am speaking generally!! Not attacking anyone, certainly not someone that has a physical issue.

This drives me completely insane!! people can be so lazy!! And the people that are queue blind...! I have explained on my occasions the concept of a queue to people who seem baffled by it! edited by mannikat on 07/07/2013 maybe they have arthritis in their hands, a bad back, just done a 16hr shift.... edited by MrsPineapples on 07/07/2013 I cannot empty my cart anymore. So I wait for help. Sorry but I am talking about people who are capable enough to walk around the shop, carry a basket put the items they require in it and then reach the counter and seem to lose all motor function. There are a lot more lazy people than people that really need assistance, or else there are a vast amount of very young arthritis suffers in the uae of all nationalities. And before anyone else has a go I am not talking about parents busy with kids either. As for queue jumpers, there is no excuse. Just like I don't know their problems they don't know mine, a queue is queue. Its just rude to think you can jump for any reason. A polite 'I only have one item or I am late to pick up my kids please can I jump in front' I can handle and would never refuse.

Actually, it's not a bad time to visit the Middle East, as you suggest. It's actually a really nice to time to experience something difference and step out of your "gotta have a drink to have fun" comfort zone. Why not suggest to your friends that to save the binging for another country and instead enjoy a traditional iftar meal? If I wanted to 'binge' as you politely put it I could do that at home.... less judgement please!

Its like anything really it depends on what you want to use if for? A phone isn't just a phone anymore :) If you like apps etc you really cant beat apple if nothing else they have vast numbers of them. I have a bb for work and iphone for personal. Any touchscreen phone will have a shorter battery life be prepared if you don't already have a touch screen. For an iphone you must have a iTunes account or one that you can use. I prefer my iphone its not the latest but it isn't slow. I wouldn't recommend waiting a few months, there will always be a new model no matter what brand you buy. the only thing is the z10 is totally new so it might be worth checking some tech forums to see if there are any glitches. BB haven't got the best track record with touch screens. Galaxy are really catching up on tech front especially with their camera's. Good luck finding the right one. Trying playing with the ones you are thinking of buying and see how you like their operating systems

Sorry I don’t think I was very, clear this 'laser eye' place is separate from city hospital but is in healthcare city. I just wanted to say it in case you were looking around. I will check with my GP and get a name at Moorefield’s :)

I am so sorry to hear of your sisters illness. I cant imagine. I lost my first boyfriend/husband to cancer when i was 19. The bucket list thing wasnt really for him we are all different, but he did give all his friends and loved ones little tasks, things he wanted to do but knew he wouldnt have time for. Reading Ulysses his best friend still curses him for that one :) going to Barcelona, me to finish my degree. Maybe she would like you to do things for her..planting the tree is wonderful i have one at home a beatiful oak. My heart just breaks for you and your sister. She is so lucky to have you. Try to see the blessing in every minute even the difficult ones.

I know this isnt answering your question but if you are looking at options. I would not recommend laser eye in healthcare city. Had an awful experience there. My GP has since recommended Moorefields Clinic, i havent gotten up the courage yet but i would 100% trust her recommendation. Best of luck with it! I am still four eyed at the moment!

Having been in apartment that was sold while we were living there. I would suggest being somewhat accommodating. Like some of the others have said tell them you won’t be providing an open house. Set certain days and times. We only had three viewings and the place was sold to somene that didn’t even view it as he lived in the exact same apartment 5 floors down, so you might get lucky. Also we only agreed to deal with one agent, who had to be present at all viewings. I would advise being careful re your deposit, as our previous landlord tried to deny he has received it, ridiculous claim! I had a receipt from the agent, the LL tried to tell me I should be getting it back from the agent from two years ago, honestly as if he would have let me move in without a security deposit. Anyway, the new landlord who is moving into the apartment agreed to pay it. It’s just something to be wary of.

If you are looking for second hand. Cash converters on SZR is really handy. I love dubizzle and a bargain but trekking all over Dubai is hard going sometimes. We got our oven and a few other bits here, prices were pretty good and they arrange delievery. Lived in Exec towers for 2 years its lovely best of luck!!

Hi Tiki, thanks for your reply...honestly up until June my response would have been the same. I order from Asos and amazon pretty regularly and i never had an issue. I have to agree i usually get a prompt response but having to follow up on every item is not really the point of the service. Since June I have had to follow up on every single item as it was sitting for days not logged as being recieved let alone being shipped. I dont mind waiting at all, but having to chase them everytime is annoying. I am dealing with Maria at the moment and previously I have delt with Alaa. I am usually not in a rush so i just checked with Aramex and each time something failed to shop and each time i had to provide proof it had been delivered before they would even look for it. I can understand this makes it easier but not everything is sent by registered post. The first time i believed it was the seller as I had never had trouble with shop and ship before so the seller sent it again and again it didnt show up finally I asked her to register it (it was a small item not available here but not really worth shop and ship and registered post) again no sign of it until i had proof it had been delievered then they managed to find it. I have had two other cases where i have had to ask sellers to resend using registered post one in the us and one in the uk and each time having to get proof before Aramex would look for it. In these cases the item was found and sent. I didnt cause a fuss as I had my items but somewhere there are at least 5 packages of lost items.... This package is just the final straw it was delievered on the 18th Dec, i know this from the seller as i knew i would need proof before i could get in touch with Aramex. When I got in touch they emailed asking for an invoice to prove the item is mine as they have managed to track it to Doha but delievered it to someone else who is claiming it is theirs. Now they are trying to retrieve it from this person, who in my view is a thief. I aways have to show ID when i recieve a package but clearly they didnt bother when they gave my package to someone in Doha. They seem to have failed at every level on this one.... maybe i am just really unlucky....
