My ds's school had their first lock down drill the other week and told me they were all told where to hide(within the classroom different kids in different areas) and I am happy to know they are practising...Does worry me a lot tho that this has now become necessary the world over...

Dr John McEwan. He has been doing the same op for my son a few times now. Wouldn't want anybody else doing it. He is great. And city hospital operating staff are great and mum or dad can stay with the children until they fall asleep with the gas mask, no needles are used until the children sleep...

Thank you so much for the reply. We wanted a french bulldog but decided against it as they don't fly well and we will move away eventually so need a breed that flies. Looking at jack russel or pomeranian or yorkie or chihuahua... my hubby stays here most summer so he will take care of the dog but thought it might be nicer to take him to Europe as it is much more dog friendly...Looking into getting the puppy at the end of August onwards so lots of time to think about all the options before next summer.... edited by mareike76 on 07/06/2014

We will. But have some limitations because it has to be small (cat size) Those are the apartment rules. We adopted an older dog before who then bit my son so it will have to be a puppy. Dog is well and my dog trainer rehomed him...So we are looking into our options...

Aparently some airlines completely banned them now...somebody said that 1 out of every 2 bulldogs die during flight so was wondering why/how so many are here with no breeders etc...We wanted to get a frenchie but now can't as we would like to take the dog home with us over every summer...

I always like (not) the comment...Madame, you have such a beautiful face followed by shame you are so fat...And at a hairdressers once (one of those very cheap salon type ones) I explained how I wanted my hair cut, she cuts it totally different and says she couldn't cut it how I wanted as my face is too fat and it would make me look even fatter...Nothing like a trip to a salon to make you feel better...lol

Dewa usually accept a payment of 75 percent of the outstanding amount. If however you get cut off they will ask for full payment before reconnecting you, so careful with how much exactely you have to pay...

I like Emirates. I am scared to death by flying but do it every summer...Flew lots of different airlines but cabin crew on Emirates (and on one occasion on Lufthansa) are just the best. Last summer I had to fly alone with my 5 year old and the staff were amazing. I was close to tears at check in and they kept talking to me the whole time...On the plane they kept coming to me and explained every little movement and noise and when we hit mild turbulence they made sure someone was always by my side, talking me through without letting my son notice. It meant the world to me and I know they are more expensive but I will gladly pay that for the service!!!

We went last weekend. Took our visitor there in the evening so we got to watch some shows, the fountains and fireworks. We really enjoyed it. Some of the pavillions are not worth a look but we found lots of little thing we didn't know we needed (as every year ). Also one of the shows,The lords of lighning, were one of the most amazing show ever. They use high voltage electricity and pass/shoot it between them....Awesome. They are there until Saturday I think.

Thank you. I found one in Magrudy on Beach Rd today...Wanted to get a complete set but no luck. Ds found a cars bag which he loved and wanted. They also sold those small ice packs which will fit in and the bag is big enough to fit normal (our old lol) tupperware boxes...For a bottle he chose a camelback with planets on from a sportsshop and we will use one of his many backpacks to put the lunchbag in...sorted...In August I will make sure to bulk buy school lunch bags and boxes to save the running around....Last year I saw those nice colourful boxes everywhere and now nobody seems to have them...

They are in Dubai British School and Emirates Int School in Springs/Measows....They were most efficient with emailing back and answering questions. There is also active sports and they are in DIA near Springs and they also do baby swimming and mother and child swimming...Good luck!!!

Hi. Nurseries do offer FS1 classes which are for children who are 3 before September 1st... So 3 going to turn four. I think you might want to look into that option as lots of schools will not take non english speaking child. And then there is the problem of finding FS2 places if you have not already been with the school in FS1... Maybe start your child on english lessons right away and good luck!!!

We are so extremely happy with JPS. My son is in FS2 and loves it. The teachers are great and each child is catered for individually. They have different groups within the class for more specific learning. I only ever wanted JPS and I am happy we got in. Saying all that mu friends daughter is at Dess and they r very happy there. Others are at Horizon and are loving it for the more authentic british country school feel....
