Sounds fine to me - we don't drink alcohol so thats not a big problem! As long as the food is great, I'm up for it!

Marycatherine- I said I go out with him 15 mins(maybe more)in the morning before going to work, then again when we come home from work and for 1 hour every evening! I find this is more than enough as when we are home we still have lots of playtime in the garden! Now, when you said you are going out during the summer in the day, won't the dog burn his paws??? I burn my feet as the floor is so hot so won't it be the same for a dog????? Just thinking as I havn't had a dog here in the summer! SueB-thank you-I will try out the teetree oil-we are using scented clorox or dettol at the mo...ooops! Doesn't smell like amonia tho. It is the submissive peeing and we have someone coming over to assess us and the dog to see how we can help him! He got much better over the weeks-think he is learning. He is very lazy and loves to just hang around the house and be stroked-even if we leave the door open! He even defended my house and 2 cats when another cat 'broke' in-he knew something was wrong and kept on barking until we investigated!!! Clever boy! It's great that some people are home all day to walk their dogs many times a day but that would mean only unemployed people can own a dog. So I think 3 times a day will be enough-most of my friends work-some full days some part time and their dogs are happy(I suppose)...I think it is down to the family, after all a dog usually fits in with the humans lifestyle...( unless they are tiny and need to go out every 2 hours...) Just my opinion tho! We love our dog and he enriches our family unit a lot(not just in pee, lol) He is a great friend for my son and it is beautiful to watch when they play together! And he helps me getting fit with the walkies!

We go for a walk 3 times a day and all my friends who have dogs only go 2 times a day so I know it can work. Now, in the mornings he gets 15 mins and he does his business, then again around 2is where we go 20-30 mins for a wee and sometimes poo and then in the evening usually an hour....I have heared in the hot month here you only walk dogs early morning and late evening as the floor is too hot-so how is that going to work? I desinfect the house whenever he does his submissive pee ( just the area ) but if it is a full be I mop the whole room with desinfectant as it i just disgusting! Now he is getting better and I am pleased with the progress he is making and he responds well to treats or even just praise. Thanx for all your great tips so far!!!!

Well, we do all the time. But you can't ignore the bad when they really hurt their friends...Just my opinion so I just wanted to see if anybody experienced the same with their kids and if they got through it ok!!!!

Thank you for your replies. I will try to stay more calm and patient with him as otherwise he is the perfect dog. He can hold the real big pee and poo for a really long time which is great!!!! The reason I didn't want him peeing in the garden is it is all interlock and my little son plays there-after desinfecting the whole house all the time I didn't want to do he same with the garden...And it's not that he needs a wee-he is just over anxious....I'll keep you all posted!

We decided to cut back on eating out and are now cooking a lot from scratch rather than buying the ready sauces... I now spend roughly 1000dhs on the first of the month bulk buying our toiletries, cat litter, food, dog food and treats, washing powder... Then roughly 750 each week on food alone...That is for 2 adults, 1 toddler, 2 cats and a dog.... We went to Germany last summer and I was shocked how expensive everything was. Much more than when I still lived there. For a can of coke in a chippy it was 3euros...and chips and sausage was no less than 5.50euros and a mc donalds meal set us back 7euros.... But supermarkets were about the same as here I would say-maybe slightly cheaper as we have Aldi and Liddle...Oh how I miss it...And lots of pork at reasonable prices...And fresh strawberries.... Roll on July....

Hi there-we have a 10 month old lab/saluki mix who has finally learned not to do his business in the house or the garden...At last! But he still does a little wee whenever he is happy, excited, worried, scared or anything else..Like if we want to go walkies and I get the lead he pees-then lies in it-yuk! Or when he wants to be stroked and I do and he enjoys it he pees...you get the picture? I know it's only a little wee but so many times a day it gets really annoying now plus he really smells...Someone said not to bathe or wash a dog with shampoo(for dogs) as it will make the fur more smelly??? Please tell me this is a problem which can get sorted???Help!!!!

Hi everybody-I am in trouble. I am stuck at home with my ds who is sick and very clingy so I can't get the cleaning done. Now my original cleaner has cancelled for today and my friend whom I havn't seen for 3 years arrives tonight for the weekend-she told me yesterday!!! lol No problem usually but she is a clean freak and we have 2 cats, one dog a sandpit for a garden and a very messy hubby so needless to say my house is anything but spotless....So if anybody could give me any numbers for cleaning agencies who might be able to fit us in today I would be eternally greatful!!!!!! HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

DH had Perthes when he was a kid which was surgically treated, diagnosed by x-ray. (First symptom was actually knee pain due to the change in gait.) Had to wear a spica cast after first surgery, and then had a second surgery to move metalwork. After that the best therapy was swimming and cycling, as they bear minimal weight. Didn't do any sport for 3/4 years after, but he has made a good recovery since and ended up playing hockey for his uni and played football every week. Still gets the odd flair up, but nothing a quick steroid injection hasn't fixed! Things have moved on since then no doubt, so I'm sure that less invasive methods are probably more successful these days!

Yep - just had it - was yummy! Had the chili and flatbread, and DH was stuffing his face with a big fat burger. And they even picked up a phone card from the petrol station next door for me when they delivered - Great service!

Dr John McEwen is brilliant - think he works at a clinic on Al Wasl Road, and at City Hospital. DH and DS see him for their ears and sinus problems.

I need delicate ENT surgery. Any recommendations? Dr John McEwen operates at City Hospital - has operated on DS twice and has amazing bedside manner. I would trust him 100% for any ENT issues.
