Test one cupboard and if it is not successful look at changing then Look up on computer how to go about it before painting. You may need to sand a little and put undercoat paint first depending on the current finish on the doors. Maybe ask a painters advice in one of the paint shops in Satwa or elsewhere. Good luck

Thank you for your replies. I am just shocked one is left here in a foreign country without their passport. Other countries handle it differently and allow one to retain their passport while application for a new one is processed in their home country. Many thanks for your responses.

You will need access to see the water meter therefore unless you have a key to open the box you will need Emaar / M Plus to open to see what is happening if water meter clock is turning once you turn off the water and test the system . You mentioned you had someone look at the issue, Did they do the above ? Immediately you should learn if the issue is inside the boundary of the property or not . Water leaks are considered an emergency so pop around to the Emaar office in Arabian Ranches Good luck

You might be expecting too much from the take away restaurant if you were ordering and waiting in person where they could place the food in your container I would think it is more manageable for the business . Image if all delivery customers wanted their containers stored to be used when they order food. Where could they store all the containers coming in all shapes and sizes. Storage needs additional space and costs money. Over time the municipality bring in more and more regulations and packaging is becoming more standardised and more expensive and to a higher standard. Costs are soaring for small businesses and many have and will not be able to afford the cost of running the businesses also with continuous high expectations from customers. More people reuse bags or use fabric bags today, good for you doing what you can to try and be "Green"

Hope someone who you have asked for can respond. Not an easy decision, maybe consider boarding schools in the UK for the children if you feel you really believe Dubai is the place for the family overall. Best of luck

Not sure many of us would click that link for it potentially being a hoax. spam link and you fill our PC's with viruses. OK, have asked my son to look into it. Looks like facebook want people to use the real names. Looks like continuous profiling to enable linking and selling. Thank you for responses so far.

Sounds like a scam. Facebook would not (should not!) ever ask you to send real documents to prove your name. I'd try to contact them directly ... This is what comes up online https://www.facebook.com/checkpoint/?next

I have been locked from facebook. They are asking me to confirm my name and want my real name and want copies of documents sent to prove my real name. I really do not want to use my real name and the one I have works fine for me as was set up with that name for a reason, I do not post much. Does anyone know how I could get around this ? Here's hoping someone can give give me an easy way round this. Thanks for your assistance.

Dear members, Based on recommendation of this forum, I sent my DH to Dr. Juliane Reuter for a skin issue in Health Bay Polyclinic. She turned to be excellent. Calm, patient and very professional. My DH is very picky but he was very pleased with her service. Actually it has been several weeks and based on her treatment, his skin issues almost gone away. I wanted to share with everyone again so others can use her as well. Does anyone know if this German Dermatologist , Dr Juliane Reuter ,is still in Dubai, August 2015. The number I have for her she has not worked at for about one year. Here's hoping someone might have a contact number if she is still in Dubai. Thank you in advance

Hi ladies, I know this has been discussed before but looking for any new imput, Derm put me on this after suffering from acne since 14, I'm now 35 & nothing else ( antibiotics/ Dianette ) seems to be working anymore, I'm 3 weeks in and having a major breakout! Worse than anything I ve had before! So pharmacist recommended taking erythromycin alongside to calm it down, otherwise just having the usual expected dryness & im sorry to say drop in libido ? However I ve spent the last few days researching the drug online and now I am totally freaked out by some of the horror stories I'm hearing! Particularly that some peoples side effects are permanent & can even worsen after treatment! Due to the nature of one of my side effects in particular ? I'm especially worried about this! Does anyone have any experience with using Acutane that could help make up my mind wither it's worth continuing with this? Any advice would be great as I'm literally up all night on line scaring the **** out of myself! Huge thanks in advance x Go back to your dermatologist and explain your concerns If you are following their treatment for Acne then you need their advice about which antibiotics to take,In addition to the careful cleaning of your skin.

No need to be frazzled. Pool party is great for this age group if they can all swim and you have plenty of adult supervision. No reason why one cannot have pool parties each year, throw in a few games, races.

Easier to do this when he is so young. Teacher has already given the advice. He is young and boys do develop at a different pace to girls. If you wait until he is older the battle will be much more challenging. He will be better off in the long run if you do it now. His self esteem might suffer significantly if he falls behind more and more. Good luck what ever you decide. I have found my son's level in literacy is falling behind and he is below the level. His teacher thinks, that repeating KG2 again would be a good idea to consider. Did anyone came cross such situation?? I am also thinking about his self stem and how he could handle seeing his peers in the class moving to a higher level?? edited by McB on 07/05/2015

My daughter went to France last summer and it was very successful for her. She studied 5 days Mornings and afternoons, depends what you go for.She was very happy and was fine the fact others were not doing another course in the afternoons as she was. Good to go for at least number of weeks but is expensive so may depend on your child and how independent they are.If you decide try and get a family who the child can mix with and may involve them in family life. They test the child and move them as they progress or if struggling do the same, my daughter moved up and down in various courses, initially she was with adults and when it was too tough ( business French) she moved and again in another course she was more advanced they moved her up . I expect it will depend on how involved your child is also. Contact email : [email protected] Good luck what ever you decide. My 15 year old DS is taking a compulsory GCSE in french next year and I am trying to find a way to boost his chances of getting a decent grade. I had thought that a summer camp would be a good idea. Does anybody have any experience of these? Do they actually work? I have had a look around, but many of them seem very "social". DS would, without a doubt, find an english speaker to hang around with and slope away from any real attempts to learn french. I think that a more formal academic approach would suit better, but I'm struggling to find a school that does this. Any recommendations?

Back in the 80's early 90's my company paid the 25,000 debenture at Dubai College and we still haven't gotten it back. Wow! That is a lot of money. The best schools are clearly for the wealthy... If your company still have not received their debenture back from a school, the question would be, For what period was the debenture for , 3 years ,10 years 50 years ? One would assume your company have the debenture available at the school for someone in your company to use. If your company no longer require a debenture one would assume your company would contact the school to request a refund. Many people would be delighted if their comapny still had a debenture at a school as it may give their child an opportunity to attend that school.

Could any one please recommend a Psychologist that has worked with Teens on academic related issues or otherwise? Sometimes depending on your cultural back round and upbringing one may feel more or less comfortable with different nationalities. Here are a few I have heard about over the years and remember you need to find someone suitable for your teen and if the first person they meet does not work do not be afraid to look for someone else. Teenage years are very tough! Try Lifeworks 04 394 2646 - has very very good reputation or Lighthouse Arabia 04 380 9289 0r 04 321 7786 - These have recently been on radio on 103.8, young and vibrate and up to date training and information and also relate well with young people as well as older. Has onsite Psychologists and Psychiatrist if it is deemed required. They run courses. or Human Relations Institute 04 365 8498 - On radio for years on 103.8 very good advice and great reputation. Have a look at websites, Good luck

Wise to get levels checked most people do not realise the negative impact of noise levels in the world. Environmental health officers or someone who takes these measurements can access and then you will understand your situation better and act accordingly. Good luck will be interesting to learn about the acceptable level of noise here in Dubai.

Depending on the age of your property and when you painted last. Maybe wait and see if you plan to stay that long and if does need doing by then, do it, and give yourself a better chance to rent it to someone who will look after your property if it is nice and newly decorated to start with. If something is too old and tired tenant may not feel so inclined to look after it.

I am not a medical person but knowledge I have acquired over the years from experience and Doctors advice. B vitamins are best taken over time as a combined complex of B 1 ,B 6 and B 12 combination , better together as opposed to taking separately. Follow up with your Doctor and ask the above if your are unsure. edited by McB on 12/01/2015

International cuisine varies from country to country and chef to chef, best to cook Christmas Lunch / / Dinner the way you want it unless you know exactly what is on offer. I remember the time I got mashed potatoes for dinner in Arabian Ranches and it had Parmassan cheese mixed in , never would have thought some chef would do that with out describing it on the menu. Happy New Year We got our turkey (turned out to be a chicken actually) and trimmings delivered from Baker and Spice. Ordered at the last minute due to a sudden change of plan. The whole meal was STONE COLD! Rather a surprise when we had all the veggies and things ready to eat at the delivery time and we then spent quite a while warming everything up, including a whole bird! We just assumed it would all be delivered hot and ready to eat like other takeaways. Is that normal? I called up Baker and Spice to express our surprise and ask for instructions and they apologiesd for not checking if we wanted it hot or cold! Apparently some people get it all delivered cold to heat up at their leisure later on.... The food was good, fortunately, though it wasn't quite like an English Xmas dinner - strange stuffing and roasties that were more spicy potatoes wedges, nice but different.

Trips are expensive and the fact that you are from London I would hope you already have or will show your children the sights of London and your home country. I would prefer to spend such a sum on a country family do not go to. Children need to learn they cannot do everything and choices need to be made. Not an easy apart of parenting and important to say and do NO when necessary. Good luck with your decision.
