Before I go out looking for a company and pay them too much money... Can anyone help me design a logo and/or can someone build a website with me? Am setting up a new company and need this to be done quite soon. Would appreciate any help as I have no idea how to do it myself. thanks :-) I could get a basic website set-up for you in an afternoon using Joomla. It is so easy to do. You have a non-technical to use admin page to update/add text and to add to a navigation bar. I think it is a good way to set even a basic site up as you aren't beholden to a company to update your site and the cost that goes with it.

Having worked in publishing for many years I can tell you that the chances of successfully launching a new magazine without a serious marketing budget is virtually nil. Less people are buying print publications than ever, advertising revenues are dropping significantly and online advertising revenue is not the panacea people thought it would be. The big boys in publishing struggle, a new start-up with low funds barely stands a chance.

Bear in mind that the supermarket herb pots are pumped full of nitrogen for quick growth. Often this reduce the life of the plant. I prefer to grow my own from seed so they can grow a bit more naturally.

Mint spreads pretty quickly, so pot....unless you like mint a lot! If you want the mint in the ground then you can plant it in a pot, then the pot in the ground. Basil will work in the ground as long as it has good drainage.

Yes but we are not in the UK, we are in the middle east where there is no NHS, again most doctors would probably advise if you are concerned to visit in person, they can not be held responsible for advice given over the phone (or should not be). I'm not suggesting a doctor be held accountable for advice on the phone. DB was concerned and she wanted to check if that concern was necessary. Yes, we are in the Middle East. Dubai is not some middle of nowhere desert village. A very significant proportion of communication in this city is conducted in English. It isn't unreasonable to expect to call A&E/ER and be able to speak to someone that can communicate effectively in English, without waiting a long time. As with most things, profit almost certainly lies at the bottom of this problem. Edit: I can't spell &lt;theshame&gt; <em>edited by mich72 on 16/09/2012</em>

Talking on a phone in a country with so many different cultures and languages dodgy choice and if an emergency [b'>how can you expect any medical professional or not to treat or diagnose over a phone line?[/b'> If you are concerned you go in, same any where. Maybe it is a British concept, but people are encouraged in the UK to do just this. Medical professionals are trained to ask the right questions to get the facts in order to get to the bottom of the problem. Questioning is almost as important as poking, prodding and looking. Ask any doctor. If you are not certain it is an emergency, then by phoning you get (in theory) proper advice. If not an emergency, then not only have you saved yourself time and a trip, but you free up the medical staff to deal with more serious cases. Of course, if you believe it to be an emergency, or are in any doubt, then get yourself to the hospital.

Bear in mind the iPhone 5 uses a nano SIM and not a micro one. Until Du and Etisalat introduce these SIMs you wont be able to use it, unless you use a SIM from a different country. These nano SIMs are thinner as well as smaller, so you can't adapt an existing SIM. Regardless, there are just as good, if not better phones available for less anyway ;)

300gm strong bread flour 1/2 tsp yeast 1tsp salt 1/2 tbs sugar tbs milk powder (optional) 15gm butter 200ml luke warm water Mix and knead for 5 minutes. Let it rest (prove) somewhere warm under some cling film with oil rubbed on it to stop it sticking. 30-40 minutes later roll it out. Will make 2 good sized pizzas. Cheaper and far nicer than shop bought. Use a mixer with dough hook or bread machine if you don't fancy the kneading :)

The cost will depend on the service you want. Our 2 cats(11 & 12) cost a bit under £2k, but we had them pick up the cats from us, keep them for a week and then do everything else in terms of getting them to Dubai, and delivered to our apartment. I highly recommend PetAir UK. If you give them a call or email them with details of what you want - dates, whether they pick up, deliver other end etc etc. Their website has a lot of info as well. Was very happy with their service. They even sent us photos by email of the cats whilst they stayed with them :-) EDIT: we also had them make a custom crate. It was a double crate with mesh down the middle; so they could see each other but not kill each other! Good luck with the move. PS - if you need temporary accommodation this end that allows cats, then Trade Centre Apartments on SZR allow them. Not plush but perfectly fine. <em>edited by mich72 on 04/09/2012</em>

Have you considered going down the CMS route with Joomla, Wordpress or other? The chances are one of them will fit your needs and then it is only about finding a theme/template that works for you. If you can't find one, then you can pay someone to develop this. The advantage of this is that you can control the site and the hosting and not be held to ransom. It is easy to update/add content yourself. If you decide in a few years you want a different look to the site, you just update the theme rather than the whole site. In the long run it is cheaper and more flexible. I've built several sites over the years using Joomla, Whilst not perfect, it is amazing what you can do with it.

Doesn't sound good. If you're up for a bit of adventure you could back up your files and reinstall. Might sound drastic, but sometimes it is the easiest solution. Another less drastic thing is to roll back to an earlier restore point. Depends how you're set-up so might not work, but if your Windows is scheduled to create restore points every so often, you can easily restore your system to one. This means you can go back in time to how your computer was at an earlier time, meaning if you've recently developed a problem, you can go back to before it happened. I'm not very good at describing these things, so might be best for you to Google Vista restore points so I don't confuse things! Whatever you do, just back up important files before you do anything. Good luck!

Depends where you want to ride, but also what you are comfortable. There are essentially 4 categories of bikes: 1. Mountain bike - for use off road, but can be used on road as well. Typically they will have 26" wheels and the riding position is leaning into/on top of the handle bars (seat quite high in relation to frame. 2. Road/racing bike - Solely for road surfaces. Narrow tyres with little grip and a larger wheel. The handle bars will curve rather than be straight. These bikes are designed to go faster. 3. Hybrid - This is a cross between mountain and road bike. It has larger, but narrower wheels than a mountain bike, so are more efficient on road surfaces (more distance for your pedal effort!). This type of bike can be used off road, but only really on tracks and trails. Think forest tracks, canal tow paths etc. 4. Commuter bike - this will normally have very small wheels and is foldable. Designed to be taken on the train and then unfolded at the destination to finish your journey/avoid the tube in London! My advice is: If you want to try off road riding maybe hire a mountain bike first and try it to see if it is for you. If you you8 like off road riding then buy a mountain bike. If you want to ride only on good road surfaces then a road/racing bike works well. Probably the best option for most people is a hybrid bike. It gives you best of both worlds and a more upright riding position, which most people find more comfortable. Most people tend to buy mountain bikes. There is more choice and you usually get a bit more for your money. It is actually the wrong type for most, but if it works for you then it doesn't matter. Try different bikes and sizes and be sure you're comfortable. If you can afford to, try and buy mid-range. The cheapest bikes are rarely great and the top end ones only make a difference to real enthusiast riders. Lastly. There are several types of gear levers. These days most bikes come with twist grip. Personally I find these horrible to use and less reliable (personal thing). You can get under bar shifters that when set-up properly are great. Or you can get old school top thumb shifters. It is personal choice, so try all 3 out. Good luck...

Antiseptic is to prevent infection and antibiotic to try and cure infection. Antibiotics shouldn't be used routinely as bacteria can become immune to them, making it more difficult to deal with future infections..

You don't need to go to a typing centre now. Just fill in the online form. It is a terrible form mind! You'll get prompted to complete sections not marked as mandatory, so just fill everything possible in. At the end of it you just print the receipt out. I then went to KV and from arriving at the centre it took 2 minutes to be in doing finger prints etc. Really quick. Link for the form is halfway down the EIDA homepage on the left. You need to run Internet Explorer 7 for it to work. I just dug out an ancient laptop to do it!

Trade Centre Apartments (hotel) allow pets. The apartments are quite tired now due to age, but they are perfectly fine for a few weeks; and clean! They'll ask for a security deposit if you have pets. The staff were helpful and friendly and I would recommend the place for a few weeks stay.

I used to manage a business relationship with DHL in the UK and would not recommend them. The number of issues we had with lost and destroyed items was higher than it should have been for our volume. Worse still the misinformation we sometimes received was quite scary. Some extremely important legal documents went from delayed, to lost, to destroyed, to maybe not destroyed to found somewhere to being returned to us despite DHL claiming they were in a different country. Confused? They certainly were!

We recently used Doree Bonner International and they were fantastic; particularly the packers. 1 plate and 1 glass arrived broken out of the whole shipment! Off the top of my head it was £4k all in with insurance for a 20ft container. Sailing time was 3 weeks and about a week more for it to be delivered here (took customs a few days to get round to it!). All in all I'd happily recommend them. Good luck with the move.

A lot of the media you see/read is soundbites of fairly limited and certainly not 100% conclusive studies. There are so many variables involved that it is extremely difficult to conclude with absolute certainty something is a scientific fact. Science and knowledge/understanding evolves over time and this is why many years later drugs get withdrawn, advice changes and so on. Often things reported in popular media is very old, but made out to be the latest thing. I've read stuff in the Guardian and BBC that was published 6 months earlier in the scientific community. Why brought into the mainstream now? Possibly someone has an agenda (usually with profit involved) Not saying always the case and maybe I'm just cynical ;)

Everything leads to cancer depending what day the 'experts' think it is. Avoid the obvious stuff like cigarettes and think moderation in everything...and just enjoy life. It is too short even if you worry about everything and just eat the 5 or 6 items not yet identified as giving you cancer...yet!

I quite like it in a salad. A recipe of sorts: Prepare salad in bowl....lettuce, tomatoes etc etc Fry off some nice prawns in lots of chopped garlic and olive oil. Get a bit of colour on them. Separately grill some halloumi and then cube it. Chuck the lot into the bowl of salad and mix. The garlic prawn oil is your tasty dressing and will be slightly warm. Eat straight away; tis lovely :)

My measurement in the garden in the Sun today reached 56 c degrees c and is the highest I have noticed over the past few weeks, highest prior was 55 c some days but humidity is still low compared to previous years. I did not check the temp in the shade today. The lower the humidity the easier to cope. The scale on mine only goes to 50c...I didn't think that through when I bought it!

For my Gran's 90th I got a nice photo album and collected photos from the family. I put them in approximate chronological order and it ended up being a bit of a story of her family life, from her being a little girl. She loved it. I'm going to do the same for my Mum at some point..
