Google search brought up this listing : http://uae.souq.com/ae-en/toys/pocoyo/a-7/l/ Although they are bath toys - not sure if that is what you looking for. Maybe the seller has others, if you check with him.

Hi, I am also looking for a world map and was at C4 today but the ones they have are only in French. Tried Jashanmal and they dint have anything. Yet to check Borders though... I am also looking for a Large World Globe but haven't found one. Jashnamal had a very tiny one.

Another vote for the Ikea Antilop. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30069724/ As mentioned, you have an option to buy the cushion and the table with it. We bought it when DS was 8 months old with the table and the cushion and he still using it at 2. We love it!

Borders has a decent lego collection -you can try at their bigger outlets which are in Moe or Dubai Mall. The Toy Store at Ibn Batuta also stocks Lego. HTH

oh yes its marriage threatening here as well. If you dont want to wait until wednesday, I am sure they can do a viewing sooner. We got a viewing done with 1 hr notice. All the guy does is handover the keys to you to view a few apartments and then later you drop the keys back to him on the 37th floor. Good luck with your viewing lanarkwitch, I hope you find what you are looking for soon.

We called so many agents today but could not even get 1 agent who could arrange the viewing!! They have advertised properties but when you call the most popular reply is " I rented that yesterday but i have.......(10-20k - more expensive)". I had called this number of IFA properties Shamsuddin - 044478280 and set up a viewing appointment after which they gave me the number of the IFA agent who sits on the 37th floor - Mahmood 0504594642. I suggest you call shansuddin and he will set the appointment for you. Although the building is nice and the finish is good but for some reason we felt it was more of a hotel and decided against it. And now after endless arguments with DH, we have decided to look for a Springs villa. With time running out..I am really hoping we find something soon as this property search is driving me nuts :(

We have also narrowed down our search to JLT and was also looking for reviews on Laguna tower but as it has only been handed over last month - cant seem to find much on it. The finish does look quite good from the pictures but I am a bit concerned about the chiller charges etc being too high. Would love to read some reviews as well.

Tiki, Thanks a lot for your reply on my Thermomix thread! This is such a coincidence that I was doing a search on the Roomba and saw some of your posts on EW. If you dont mind sharing may I know how you went about your Roomba purchase? And did you like it? Should I consider the Scooba? I havent checked Lakeland but would prefer getting it via S&S if it works out cheaper. I am sure you can see how desperate I am to get some of my life back- first the Thermomix and now the Roomba :D .I am soooo tired of running after DS -picking food and crumbs from the floor all the time. We dont have a full time maid so was thinking the Roomba would be perfect for the days we dont call the part time agency maids. To me you seem to be this great housekeeping gadget queen - So please let me know if you have some other great gadget suggestions ;)

Thanks frenchbird for the feedback! I am quite an average cook myself and am only managing because both myself and DH aren't that fussy about food and are more focused on the health aspect of a meal than the taste of the food. @ A Rancher :Yeah I agree 4550 Dhs is a bit much for a kitchen gadget but if it delivers what is promised then I guess I'll just have to budget for it by cutting out on something else- Atleast I'll be able to do something other than the perpetual meal planning! Thanks a lot for the link.

Ah well, what goes around comes around :D. I'm off to Spinneys when DS wakes up! If you don't want to buy a cot just for this trip - and I'd say it probably isn't worth it when he'll grow out of it very quickly - you're more than welcome to a loan of ours. Can't guarantee the mattress isn't dribble-free but I'll wash it with the hose first! :D. Thanks a lot for the generous offer DC! I have received some emails from people who want to sell and I am thinking of getting one.. I guess a second hand one at a good price still might be worth it for the vacation.

There are two going cheap on Dubizzle at the moment. I'd say they're a great idea, but only if your baby doesn't stand up - DS tipped his over several times :D. I should also mention that you can't put the 'mattress' bit in the washing machine, which is a bit annoying if you have a dribbler or they're sick. I think you can get sheets to put on them, though. Thanks Dubai Cat. DS has just learnt to hold onto furniture etc and stand but I dont think he will have anything in the inner side of the cot which he can use to pull himself up. Then again you never know as they start doing things overnight :) I'll check dubizzle. Btw, completely off topic but I was dying to post on your slow cooker thread but held myself back IYKWIM - especially for someone who goes out of her way to help other. Fell off the wagon a bit and climbing back on. Seriously thinking of changing over to another diet similar in style i.e. low carb, but more veggies everyday. I still have a book called India and Neris Idiot proof diet somewhere. Think I will re-read that and then decide. It the PP days that get to me and make me grumpy and hunting for forbidden foods... Also the other diet allows the occasional glass of wine! Am dreading the next couple of weeks when DH is away on business and I'll be all by myself. After that we're away on holiday which will not be easy either... :( Try to keep reminding me of my goal and looking at all the pretty clothes that I will hopefully be able to fit in soon! Hey muurtje..I completely hear you, the PP days are terrible. I'm probably losing weight a little more rapidly because I hardly feel like eating on PP days. I know that Dr Dukan says to take the all or nothing approach but maybe instead of quitting it.. you can try tweaking the diet a bit and see how it goes.I have a friend who does 1 PP day and 2 PV days and she's still losing weight. So maybe a little relaxed version (with a glass of vino/week ;)) might still do the trick and if not at least you'll not be eating all the wrong food. For me..I am so tired of standing in front of a wardrobe full of clothes but having nothing that fits my post-preg body that I can do anything to get back in shape. Funny how being disgusted is so motivating :)

My big toe is sore when I touch the nail, and after removing the nail polish I noticed its slightly discoloured the nail is raised and not smooth...any ideas what I can do, who would I go see? Im worried there might be something under the nail, hopefully not somethng nasty :( Sabrina, It sounds like toenail fungus but I really hope for your sake that its not.If it is then the treatment can be really long and sometimes ineffective :(. As others recommend you should go to you GP and check it up. One thing that really help with toenail infections is using tea-tree oil, but a good brand such as "Thursday plantation" or some other Australian brand. And I know all this because I had it several years ago and the only thing that helped me was the oil.

We stayed in Hatta a couple of years ago and 2 nights seemed like forever. They had nice gardens with the ducks, chalets are on the hills, the place felt very secluded. It had a good space to walk around but it was so extremely HOT that we barely got out at all. Lobby and buffet restaurant were very quiet, majority were mature and eldery couples. Ex BF and myself (in our mid-twenties at that time) got fed up and fought badly all the time. I think kids will go nuts from boredom ... Last night DH and myself came back from Hilton RAK- the best holiday we ever had in the UAE. It was so good, we extended our stay! Super cheap, amazing staff, great food and you can use all 3 Hilton hotels in RAK. No chance to get bored. It`s also a bit closer than Hatta or Fujairah. Check out RAK`s Hiltons on Tripadvisor-all have amazing reviews! Completely agree, although we went before we had DS to both places we had ditto experience. Hatta got really boring after a while , but loved the Hilton Rak the bigger one which the resort. Stayed in a beach villa with a garden, It was heaven! They do really good deals in the summer..so worth checking.

I have been batch cooking for DD for the past few days now to the point where I have lost track of what is in which pot?! Has anybody seen freezer pot labels that I can stick on and write the name of the dish on the label? Preferably something which peels off easily and does not leave any residue when washed in the dishawer. Kiddicare sells them in the UK and so does Amazon, however I forgot to buy them :( Thanks x Plumie, sorry for going off topic here..may I know which freezer pots are you using? I have got some rubbermaid ones, they seemed ok for freezing individual bigger portions for DS but was wondering if there were better options.

Today I found fat free cool-whip in the frozen section at Lulu's (close to MOE). it is a bit synthetic tasting on it's own but when you mix a couple of spoonfuls into a pot of fat free natural yoghurt it is divine! Like eating creamy custard. hahaha plum2 we might bump into each other at the fat free sections of Lulu someday. The other day I was there and bought nonfat kraft american cheese slices. Again, not that great but hey atleast it somewhat tasted like cheese, cant expect much from fatfree cheese now, can we ;)

Thanks Pentel - bedtime used to be 7pm but we have moved it up to 6:30 (theoretically that is, as by the time she sleeps for the past few nights it's past 7:30 pm!!). She does sleep but is restless and needs re-settling at times and then is up again by 10:30pm or 11pm for her feed (we try to give that as a dream feed before she wakes up). The 'problem' normally starts around 1:00 - 1:30am when she'll get up and it's difficult to put her back to sleep (she doesn't cry mostly but just wants to hang out with mum and dad :\: ). I should also add that we probably have not picked the best time to start the sleep training as she's also teething (she cried quite a bit the second night and we put it down to sleep training or being over tired, only to realize that she was grinding teeth in the morning and sure enough, when I checked, it feels like 2 teeth are coming through on the top!!). Oh and she only wakes up from her third nap at around 5pm so it's hard to start the bed time routine any earlier than 6pm. Sometimes she will nap for 1.5 hrs in the morning and 1.5hrs in the early afternoon, other times it's only 45 mins in the early afternoon so then she'll take a third nap at around 4pm to wake up at around 5pm. edited by GreenQueen on 06/07/2011 Hi GQ, what are her day nap timings? are they consistent or do they vary? The reason I am asking is because maybe you could try making her 3rd nap to end somewhere between 3-4pm. Ideally if it ends by 3.45pm, you might find that she would go down faster at bedtime. Just a suggestion.

The Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt is 14.50 a tub (single serve) in my local Spinneys. Today I bought a local made Nadec 0% fat natural yoghurt from Lulu's - delicious and, at only 1 dh for the 170g pot, a bargain! Edited to add: I've been mixing a little stewed rhubarb into the natural yoghurt for variety and it's really nice. You could add sweetener if you needed to but I find it fine without. edited by plum2 on 04/07/2011 edited by plum2 on 04/07/2011 edited by plum2 on 04/07/2011 I have bought the 99.9% marmum skimmed yogurt from choithram sometimes. But wow if nadec has a 0% one, I'll be getting that! Now I have small collection of tiny flavouring bottles, to add to my yogurt with splenda. Its such a yummy dessert. especially after dinner.

gemm3210, wow you are already on consolidation..thats brilliant! Stick on, you are almost there now ...the last few are always the hardest to lose. For me the weight is coming off slowly. Have been on the diet for 13 days, started at 71.5 kgs and today I am 68.5 Kgs. Still got another 10 kgs to go. Its coming down slowly but I am happy its that way hopefully that means it'll not pile back on when I am on consolidation. I've finally settled into it and dont feel its a diet anymore..But the first few days were so tough. edited by mishmash on 03/07/2011

Karen Blixen, I see that you have deleted your comment...generalizing the actions of a few billion people based on the few families living in a building is quite unfair imo. I would also like to add here.. I dont agree with jumeirajaneindubai but well what she decides to do with her kids is her decision and great if it works for them... but I dont think I would follow her advise for mine. Kcinthecity, I am glad that you have made the decision to seek professional help and It is nice to see that your DD is responding so well to it :) Although I did not have to do sleep training with my DS but he has always been on a strict routine from 6 weeks where I am very careful about his sleep associations, bedtimes and wakeup time. He is only 7 months but in case things change in the future and he starts waking up in the night, I'll not think twice before taking Cecile's help and getting things back on track.
