We use Kids First in Jumeriah for Speech and have been very happy. We use Kids in Motion for OT and are also very happy. Price is comparable to any other center. I have heard good things about Kalimati also. If you are close to Mirdiff there is also speech therapy available at Uptown Physio. I agree place your son in a nursery if you can as this helped my DD. We enrolled at Indigo Valley Nursery in Al Twar. They run an inclusion program which has done wonders with my DD and helped to reinforce her therapy. It's not easy to know where is good recommendations help but it also comes down to the therapist and their relationship with your child. Good luck

Hi My DD has development issues and we work with both therapists and her nursery. I found Indigo Valley Nursery in Al Twar the best for inclusion of special needs kids. They offer mainly OT services in addtion (no extra cost) and work with my DD other therapist (speech and OT) to assit her in nursery. Many therapy centers also will attend nursery's to work with the kids in the classrooms as well - but this will be at a higher cost than a session in their clinics. HTH

LOL - yes 3 months is a long time but she has been with us for a number of years and we dont want to loose her. Its an extra 2 months unpaid leave which is worth it for her to come back and renew again for 2 more years. Thanks for the help

So there is no paper work here that she can obtain before leaving? Does her contract have to be valid? If so is it her POLO contract or immigration contract? Sorry for the questions - normally hubby handles but he seems to have made a bit of a mess of it all so i am taking over :(

I purchased our gates from Good Baby in Karama (opp Trade center Spinneys). Not sure of exact length but they are long. They are like a blind and i have found them very safe. Maybe give them a call and see if they still stock them. Alternatively you might have to get something custom made. I have seen plenty of threads on here for carpenters HTH

We are usually buy our jewelry from Liali as they do have great service. I also lost a diamond from my wedding ring and there was no hassles replacing it. We always find their service great.

I don't really rate Organic supermarket - find their produce of poor quality - especially their meat; prime gourmet butcher much much better. and i really don't like the way 90% is imported - think their veg on the whole is over priced and always looks minging and about to go off. Do Prime Gourmet do organic meat??? i never knew that

I am a fan of juicing since watching Fat Sick & Nearly Dead. Great movie! !! Even when not doing a sessions I still incorporate juice in my daily diet. Currently doing a reboot just finished day 3. I do one every few months just to reboot :) Great for getting the weight coming off again & feeling fresh. My juicer is the Phillips Avance and I love it! !

Hi my DD had her first brain MRI done at 14mth at Welfare under sedation. The sedation lasted for the period of the MRI about 1hr after though she was tired as well. She didn't experience any side effects. She had her 2nd at 2.5yrs in Australia at Royal Childrens Melb under GA. Their policy is to give GA rather than sedation as they can wake and u might need to repeat. She will gave her 3rd in Jan again under GA. While the whole process is a bit scary at such a young age we felt it was better to get a good image once then to maybe have to repeat. Plus as others have stated even for an adult it's not pleasant. Good luck

Not sure where you are coming from but get on to the Hatta/Oman Road and go past Dragonmart, past Desert Palms and then turn right at the next roundabout which is signposted for Academic City. Turn left at the next roundabout and left again at the next and all the nurseries will be on your right. If you drive on the sand (hard enough that you do not need 4x4), you will go up through the middle of all of them and can pick and choose. Thanks :)

Will give them a try as I am desperately looking for a reliable & reasonable handyman service. I have had very good experience with Dynamic Speed for regular maintenance and (free) advises (Irfan - 0556982045) And I should have used them for hanging my IKEA curtains. I've used Howdra instead and it has been a bitter experience. I paid double the quoted price and my curtains are between 3-6cm off the floor (despite instruction they should be touching it). The worse was the reaction of the company when I nicely reported the incident, they send me emails every 3 weeks for 3 months or so to tell me they would investigate but nothing ever happened, hardly a 'we are sorry' ...

Two of my babies were c-sections. The first I didn't take it as easy as I should have ('I'm fine' was my mantra) so my recovery took longer. The second I took it really easy for 6 weeks and it paid off. So listen to your obgyn, you must take it easy! When not pregnant or breastfeeding I follow a vegan predominantly raw diet and it's fantastic for weight loss. Very hard work to start with but worth the results, it makes me feel great. I also had C section & u do need to take it easy for a good recovery. Plus at only 3 week's in u should not be stressing over ur weight & family coming. Also be aware that if r breastfeeding u need to be careful with your diet. Eat as clean as u can and add in exercise when ur Dr says ok. Congrats on your baby & enjoy!!!

Wow! That is some great achievements! Congrats!! I've started CF 5 weeks ago and lost 5kg and 5cm around my waist! What I live about it is that there is no Barbie Dolls around like in most of Dubai gyms. We are all there to either get fitter and stronger or to lose A LOT OF WEIGHT nit to look pretty in full make up. The motivation from the trainers is wicked and the FB page is fantastic for keeping in touch and on track. They have a 'challenge' starting on the 23.which is perfect to kick start off of a plateau. You get a food plan and have to keep a diary which gets analysed each week to identify and eliminate problem areas. I don't work for them but found that it is the only thing that works for me. It's some psyco thing for me: whenever I joined and committed to a gym membership and paid upfront for a longer period I NEVER went and the money was waisted. It was that looming thing of 'you have to go you paid for it' With CF you pay per session as you go and guess what?: I go 4 times a week voluntarily! It's addictive! Congrats on the loss!!! I have looked at CF is it like boot camp style? How long r the sessions and how many times a week do u need to commit to? Also what r the timings? TIA

Hey Ladies, just wanted to update in case anyone cares! hahhaha I phoned Etisalat and eventually they told me that yes, it is now on the basic Arabic package, not the western. The Arabic package is probably better than the western package, so I switched. I still have all of the channels that I previously watched (English ones) plus more!!!! With the English channels do u mean Fox, MBC, Dubai One etc all the usual? Also the news channels like CNN?? Did u have to pay to change??? TIA
