Apparently they will not fruit as there are no bees for pollination, that's why they don't sell the plants here. I bought a pomegranate tree 2 years ago, never had a fruit from it but plenty of flowers, same problem!

Hi Carolinejm, if feel your pain! I lost my daughters passport a couple of years ago, and did not have the up to date contact details on the next of kin page. Since I knew that no-one could call me directly, I was told by the police that if they had it, they would return it to the British Embassy and/or if it was handed back to the British Embassy, they would immediately cancel it. As we were travelling 6 weeks after, I chose to start the process to replace it immediately. Still to this day it never turned up. I hope you get it back, but just wanted to let you know that depending on how it gets found, it may be cancelled.

Hey, I was just trying to give a helpful warning to other parents. The Maze Runner is an MPAA rated PG 13. There were many children at the movie less than 15 and many without their parents. Annabelle's trailer (described on IMDB as "A couple begin to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences involving a vintage doll shortly after their home is invaded by satanic cultists") is disturbing and not everyone would want their children to see it and my children wish they hadn't seen it. Just saying.....

The Vitamix is also worth considering, not a juicer as such, but a blender which will make juices. I bought mine here and use it for making juices, smoothies and chopping every day. It's on QVC today in the UK- could be worth looking it up as there are videos demonstrations of it working. http://www.qvcuk.com/Vitamix-Creations-2L-Blender-with-101-Drinks-Recipe-Book-&amp;-Smoothie-Cup.product.803136.html?UDC=ONAIR

I know the one you mean, but it's for a kids room so budget is limited! There's a lovely shop in Mirdiff City Centre if your budget is unlimited. Cant recall the name but it is the top level, between debenhams and the central galleria. Also Lucky's in Sharjah paint some of their furniture a rough white.

Old passport arrived today. Just checked the online application status and it still says "Declaration form received, being processed" so I guess other than knowing that they've received it, this is pretty useless for actually informing you of progress. edited by mmpico on 19/06/2014 i would say they have more important things really to try and process as many passports as they can to get themselves out of their mess, rather than someone spending all day updating messages etc. I agree, but thought it might be of value to let people know that the comments don't correspond to what is actually happening. There were earlier questions from people who had lost log in details, so it might be helpful to know it doesn't really add anything. <em>edited by mmpico on 19/06/2014</em>

I found Tretinoin cream (generic Retin A) 0.5% in Bahrain last week. All the pharmacies were out of stock of Retin A but offered this, made by Saudi Arabian company-haven't checked if it's available in Dubai yet. Things that actually work 1) Retinols of all kinds (retin A being the best no longer available in Dubai. I moved on to differin which is a lot more gentle, but not as effective) 2) AHAs and BHAs (these are exfoliants. I prefer BHAs myself) 3) suncreams and antioxidant serums (100% physical sunscreen is better as it doesn't break down) 4) copper peptides. Need to be kept in the fridge Generally I recommend Paula's Choice and Skinactives (they do a great antioxidant serum that's just $25) Other things that work 1) Low sugar, low alcohol diet 2) microneedling 3) fraxel and similar lasers (fractional lasers) 4) RF, but it's a mild effect 5) Ulthera (hurts like a b*tch apparently) 6) chemical peels <em>edited by mmpico on 16/06/2014</em>

Got my son's passport back this morning, 5 weeks 3 days after they received it. Sent 2 emails to Paul Pugh, his secretary replied on 10th June saying it was going to issue and print and it arrived this morning. Much quicker than I'd expected-wonder what would have happened without the email..... Congrats!!! Was this your sons first passport or a renewal? Renewal

It was an email from Paul Pugh's secretary. Can you let me know when the original comes back-not out of the woods til they've both arrived! It was received by Liverpool 7 weeks ago today. Yes, delivered to my home. I'm wondering if there's a mistake in the info they gave you, mmpico, and they think you're in a country where passports are handled by the embassy. If you send two people's applications together do they get sent back separately (does anyone know?)

Buddha, I put my home address on it and it got picked up by courier from here. I asked for clarification and this is the answer "The passport will be printed here in UK and then delivered to the embassy. Any documents or expired passports are sent back to customers seperately." This is different to my understanding and to what happened when I renewed my daughter's passport. Anyone else had this? JShepherd-sent on 1st May

I've just received a reply and she said "The passport has been sent for issue today, and will be sent for printing and delivery to the embassy in UAE". Is this not unusual? I thought it was printed in the UK and delivered straight to the house, also no mention of timescales or return of the original passport, but at least it's some progress....

I've called this morning and was told a minimum of 6-8 weeks ( previously was told a minimum of 6). I've emailed Paul Pugh and not had a response-does his secretary reply from his email or does she have a direct email address where she can be contacted?

Just a word of warning on this, tried to use the mobile app at wild wadi this morning and they said they would not accept it, that they would only take the vouchers. I eventually got it sorted out after half an hour, after they had phoned the Entertainer and they had agreed to come down with a voucher for me, but said they would not be taking it from anyone else until it was sorted. Might be worth checking before anyone sets off if they are planning to use the voucher.

Where is the visitor living now? From my understanding of dialysis patients from the UK, they are entitled to a certain time of holiday abroad, paid for by the NHS. It takes time to organize, but the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment will arrange it with a hospital where they are travelling to, and they will liase with them to ensure they get their current treatment plan. <em>edited by mmpico on 06/12/2013</em>

I've got both the basic kindle and the kindle fire. But if I was going to buy one again, it would be the paperwhite for the inbuilt light, the weight, battery life and the ability to read in the sun (the fire falls down on the last 3 criteria).

I've just added Pure Poison by Dior to my perfume collection. It's very flowery, a strong jasmine scent and very "pure". I don't like the rest of the Poison range but adore this fragrance and it's very well complimented on when I wear it.

Thanks ladies, this is bad news as I have an employee with just over 6 months left on her passport and this does not give enough time for her visa to be renewed. Do you know if an a visa be issued on an extension to her passport (in Fujairah freezone)?

Can anyone recommend a dentist who can do natural looking veneers? I've had a consultation with Dr Michael but his work looked to 'Hollywood" to me and the price seemed high. RamC, Did you go to this dentist? I've checked his website and it looks impressive but can't find a Dubai address -only Seattle-have you got contact details?
