Thanks magik, Michele sounds right up our street. But unfortunately, at the moment we don't have a piano at home and I am guessing from your post that he teaches privately in homes? TIA edited by Mobs on 06/02/2014

Looking for recommendations for piano teacher/school to introduce my 7 yr old son to piano. There are so many schools and academies out there I'm not sure where to start so any recommends much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Jesspass, having recently gone through c/pox with my 2 I feel your pain: it can be really awful for the kiddies. One thing that really helped was applying lotion with a paintbrush - we would first soak them in a bath with some betadine lotion, then dab them dry and reapply either calamine lotion or some more betadine. Distraction too is the name of the game, trying to stop them itching. Good luck! edited by Mobs on 10/09/2013

Virtue, thanks so much for taking the time to reply. That is exactly the info. I was after. Whilst my son is really quite keen, he certainly isn't a stand-out talent (yet :). He has played cricket after school for the last year but we felt it was rather basic and are looking to move to the next level while he is still eager but at the same time keeping it interesting and fun. ICC does sound as if it fits the bill for us but I would also be keen to hear from anyone who has tried ECC @ Repton. Again, thanks for yr reply. Much appreciated.

Apologies for hijacking the thread but I wanted to take advantage of you cricket-mummies :) We are contemplating ICC and Elite Cricket Academy (based out of Repton) this coming year for our son who is almost 7 - do any of you ladies have any experience with both? Or any strong opinions on either. Would be much appreciated, thanks

With apologies for the late reply, it has been quite a busy day as you can imagine :) Just wanted to say thank you so much ladies for all your replies. We went to Medcare Clinic in the end and they were fab, assessed and diagnosed super quick. Son is happily sleeping now with arm in a cast. Thanks again everyone.

Mr Ishwar of Coventry tailors in Satwa is a GENIUS! Go and talk to him about your ideas/with pics and he will advise on materials/how/where etc. He may be a little more expensive (but not much) than others but his work is beautiful and worth a few extra dirhams. Enjoy :)

I would highly recommend trying dinnertime.me! We have been using this service for the last month or so and the WHOLE family love it. I dished up a curry last night and the quote from my 6yo who is usually not fussed about food: "Wow, this is what you call super delicious"! DH and I almost fainted in shock :) Basically they deliver a box of ingredients together with the recipes for 4 meals for a family of 4 and you cook! Takes the pain out of shopping and more importantly (for me at least) deciding what to cook.
