We stayed there when we first came to Dubai on holiday 4 years ago and we loved it. It's very peaceful and private. Beautiful villa's in beautiful grounds. We have been to most of the restaurants there in the past 12 months & have found all to be really nice, especially sho cho's which is my favourite place anyway. It's not cheap though

I got so frustrated with Etisalat once that i actually cried on the phone out of frustration to the customer service centre. I got a visit within the hour from an engineer :)

If she can pay her rent in 1 cheque she won't have any problem getting a 1 bed in JLT, Greens, TECOM area. There are plenty in that area to fit her budget but it does mean doing a bit of homework, viewings & being quite cheeky (on price) with the landlord. If it's split cheque's then be even cheekier - they can only say no! & believe me there are so many that can say no that 1 of them is bound to say yes. Good Luck!

There's a place on Al Diyafah Road. I think it's called cool mist but not sure. It's on the left if your heading towards the beach, opposite Al Mallah. You can't really miss it as they have the mist machines on all the time.

This all sounds very familiar. I had the same problem, now my DD doesn't want to get in the car seat when i pick her up as she has far too much fun at nursery with her friends :) It takes time but so worth it in the end.

Not really my cup of tea but i can appreciate what the mum was doing & enjoying in her spare time. Didn't look like the baby was too "bothered" It looks like she was in normal clothing/sleepsuits when asleep & the mum just created a background around her.

I'm jealous of people that can pay for their shopping & resist the temptation of putting a chocolate bar through the beeper. In all honesty probably only 2 times out of ten do i actually eat it myself but i still can't resist grabbing one.

You will find most will writing services in the UAE will be run by people who have no legal background. I have met Patricia at Holbourn Assets, she is a real lawyer who specializes in will writing and inheritance laws in the UAE. However, like everything here you will only know when it happens to you and as they seem to make the rules up as they go along I don't think one case will ever be the same as the next! Good luck! You are sooo right! This was my DH concern. You hear so many stories. That's why we have been putting it off for so long. If my husband is happy with her then she must be good. He's such a.....don't know the word to use but he will not spend anything until he was done his research.

OK, he was very brief as he is at work. He was recommended by a friend, went to the website & filled in a form. They called him back, asked a few questions & arranged to see DH. A chap came round to see us (i was busy with a screaming daughter) DH asked all the relevant/worrying questions to put his mind at rest & they answered in simple terms (which my husband liked btw) Once it was clear we 100% needed a will & what type he went to their office to meet Patricia (UK Lawyer) who went through process.

I'd be very surprised if there are any schools out there with the credit card facility. They would have to charge you a % too which would increase your school fee's. I think this is normally around 2.5%.

there is an Arabic restaurant further down towards the creek (in the B), Is this the restaurant that you can see from the water taxi's? There is one that is always packed & smells delicious from afar. Near the textile souk?

I've never had an infection but i've lost a fair amount of blood in some salons before. I used to be shy about telling them to stop but now i don't care, i figure that they need to know. I now visit a salon across the road twice a month & love it. It took her only 2 attempts to get the whole experience just how i like it & it's great. If she isn't free when i go in i wait for her. Try & stick to the same lady (if possible) & tell her what you like. So sorry to hear some of your aweful stories! Ooooouuuuuccccchhhhhh!!!!!

It's a real crappy decision to make i know. What you need to ask yourself (amoungst a lot of the below) is what are you going to regret more if things don't work out? Taking on the extra hours or staying home? I think i'd personally give the job a try, your work obviously value you highly to put you in this position so if things don't work out for you do you think they'll allow you to go back to the old hours? Although i do regret going back to work (no choice) I don't have any regrets about putting DD in nursery! She has fun all day long with her friends & learns a load too! She's 18months & i already have a sack full of her "work" that she very proudly shows off to me when i pick her up. I say take it & make your kids proud as well as yourself!

I sure understand your feelings ryana and alot of us have been there. I am also though, in the 'be careful' camp. Now, my suggestion might not be well taken by some but I have found that things are not always as they seem and communication can work. Often in a marriage we each get sidelined by our personal responsibilities and often the caring and love and comfort we give our children or the thought and concern we give our jobs does not always extend to our partners because of fatigue, complacency etc. By the end of the day when we see each other we have had a long, sometimes frustrating, tiring day and do not take the time to acknowledge our partner as our partner rather than someone else to take care of...at times walking in the door and getting a 2 min holding hug from the partner could make all the difference in the world and a glad you are home or so glad to see you. We sometimes forget that there are 2 of us together, this goes for both partners and when there are children that can sometimes fracture and we do not connect. For either partner this can be upseting and if there is not any communication or it becomes less and less, the other partner might feel neglected, unsure, distant. Someone has to change things, does not really matter who but someone does...in this case Ryana it might have to be you. Look at how you greet your husband, do the 2 min hug and ask him to be patient ;)...take time to ask him things and tell him about you, hold his hand and touch his arm. Bring comfort with you not suspision, smile not anger. I only suggest this and certainly not to say yo are wrong in your thinking but to see if a change in the dynamics of your relationship will bring your husbands face back to you :)..he could also be feeling that the child is always first and that you dont speak with him anymore, he might also be feeling neglected like you do but does not how to say this, just as you do not seem to be able to say this to him. I have no idea if this will help in the least but, we do forget that the man we married, will still be the man we married after the children have gone and we both must keep our marriage up or we will have nothing in the end. If in the end, he is cheating on you, then you have done all you can and will have another big decision to make. Hopefully that is not why he is distracted and not including you in his life. I couldn't agree more with your words, i just hope Ryana takes your advise. We should introduce a "Hug your Husband Day" I do this everyday & i know it makes him smile inside, even when he's had a rough day.

Ryana please please please be very careful if you do decide to do any of the below. Just have a think about how hurt your husband is going to be if he finds out what you are doing when he is actually doing nothing but work damn hard to provide for you and your girl. You could actually be giving him good reason to stray. I seriously recommend you don't do anything until you have a little more reason to snoop around. I hope to god you sort this out quickly x

I really wouldn't worry about this. You'll drive yourself mad otherwise. It doesn't sound like anything suspicious. He's probably just stressed out with work. We sometimes forget what a huge responsibility our husbands have, not just the job but making sure that we & the kids are having a good life too. Give him a hug when he gets in and maybe occasional thank him for everything he does for you and your girl. You'd be surprised how much he'll appreciate this. As for the internet searches, you should see what i've recently googled! Shocking but all so innocent :)

Basta Art Cafe is always a good place to grab some lunch, lovely garden & nice food, esp their salads. Just around the corner they have a camel that you can get close up to & have a ride on if you want to pay. Oh and next to Basta Art Cafe is a camel burger joint. I couldn't face it after stroking the camel so can't recommend.

It makes me really angry when i see kids running wild in moving cars, especially when mum & dad are buckled up in the front! Selfish idiots! It's nothing to do with being a) selfish or b) idiots. It's to do with lack of awareness and education. People seem to forget that in all western countries, there has been over 40 years of hard hitting educational campaigns with regard to car safety and seatbelts. This is only in its infancy here. So before you call someone selfish idiots perhaps look at the whole situation first. I'm well aware of that thank you. I do think over the past few years here there has been enough press coverage on the issue for people to understand that it's wrong. If they chose to ignore the dangers then in my eyes they are a) selfish and b) idiots. A large campaign would definitely help everyone realise just how affective a child seat can be. Fingers crossed

It makes me really angry when i see kids running wild in moving cars, especially when mum & dad are buckled up in the front! Selfish idiots! I wish the government would run a huge campaign about the dangers to children on this or at least slap a huge fine on those who don't fasten their kids in. Anything to get these innocent kids strapped up.

If you are coming up Umm Sequiem road towards Jumeirah (MOE & lulu will be on your left) take the turning on the right before the turning to get on to Shiekh Zayed Road. There are sign posts from Umm Sequiem. After taking that turning you want one of the next turnings on the left (opp gold & diamond souk) Park anywhere & ask.

If they're the same as mine then you have Milia's. Nothing to worry about. Exfoliating every day helps bring them to the surface of the skin so you can pop them out yourself. It sounds gross but it really isn't. They are like little white balls underneath the skin. If you go to a reputable treatment spa they will do this for you in with the price of a facial. They will exfoliate you first, then use a pin to pop them out. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't tickle but it really isn't bad.

I can only tell you that my girl went into nursery at a young age & i've never regretted it. Obviously i'd prefered to be at home with her but i have to work to live out here. She cried for 5 minutes for the 1st 2 days i took her & that was it. There is far too much for them to do at daycare/nursery for them to be bothered about crying for mummy. It's a really tough decision for you to make so take on board what all these ladies say & figure out what you think is best for you. My girl is now 18 months old & at nursery 5 days a week 9-5. She is such a happy little soul & has made great friends. It's very rare when she comes home without a piece of work/art/craft from that days activities. She also greets me with open arms every day so i know that although she's had a good time, she still wants her mommy! Good Luck.

Great Idea's. The kids will love it! As long as all the fruit for skewers & toppings for pizza are already chopped what can go wrong? No doubt it will be hectic but totally worth it to see their little faces beaming when they prepare & cook their own food. I'll be stealing your idea for when my girl reaches 2! Good Luck & have fun!
