We're like mrsb. and I agree with her philosophy. When my kids were little, I introduced them to rolled oats (porridge) cooked with milk and for variety, added a little home-made apple puree or diced bananas or blueberries. I mixed it up and now they're very happy to have it with just water and/or milk.. If they have a long stretch before lunch, they'll top the porridge up with bananas and berries, or a little Manuka honey for variety. When they tried commercial cereals, they find them too sweet.

mrsb. So sorry to hear this. I've read lots about the screen breaking easily - iStyle told me they'll just replace the phone if still under warranty but a friend told me that's not true, she had to replace the screen at a cost. The more I look into buying one, the more confused I get!

What kind of feedback do you want? Best places to buy it, experience of using it? Hi. Places to buy please. I have specs written down as previously recommended by you and Ruth M so I won't sound too much like a dinosaur at the store (Unlocked, UK, GSM, not CDMA etc). Not too familiar with electronics shops here! Would love to have FT otherwise would go to Apple store for warranty reasons. Thanks a bunch!

I believe, although not advertised, Apple will replace an iPhone should it be damaged - certainly they do in Australia. My DS is on his 3rd iPhone in 2 years - dropped both replaced ones in the pool!!!! You should check this out before going to the trouble of paying for repairs. iStyle said they will replace if still under warranty (with Apple).

Was going to suggest Muji as well. They are on sale at the moment. At Dubai Mall, Daiso and Muji are located near each other so you could look at both and see what you think?

I have one from Lakeland which is still in good condition after 2 years. The problem with all these things is they collect dust. So I bought a range of matching boxes with lids in Daiso. There are some deep ones so you put brushes in and still close the lid.they take up more space but you could stack them and put the cosmetics you use most often together in one box. It's also good to put all the nail care products and varnishes in one box so you have everything in one place in case you want to do your nails watching tv. Muji, Dubai Mall, has a lot of different options and they look really lovely too, very affordable but more expensive than Daiso.

My very old EHD is full so I need to buy a replacement but haven't got a clue what to buy and where. Would welcome recommendations on brand and size. Is it advisable to have anything bigger than 1TB - just worried if anything goes wrong everything would be lost?

Thanks for the advice! Really appreciate it. Just one more question - is there a need to buy the 3G version - or is the basic Paperwhite more than good enough?

Thank you all very much. Paperwhite sounds like the one then, from Amazon US (vouchers are with them luckily!) Re accessories, do you recommend buying: - international charging kit - leather cover - screen protector - stylus

I have tried to use Hamilton before, over summer they were doing a swim camp. I traveled across the city to do a trial with my kids and then despite emailing them time and time again they never told us which level they were or got back to us with availability. It was so frustrating and a big waste of time. Their teachers might be ok, but the support staff or admin staff were pretty useless. I won't bother with Hamilton again. Prefer Speedo.

Hi, Hope this old thread will help.. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic207489-macbook-air-or-macbook-pro--and-best-place-to-buy.aspx In the end, we bought an Air since we already have an iMac. I think if your new laptop is the only computer you have, go for the Pro. If you have a desktop already, go with the Air. Good luck!

Have always been a fan of gas but a real convert now. Induction is brilliant. Do need specific pots and pans but were surprised (delighted) to discover that my decades old Le Creuset works.

We bought new 18 months ago and got a 12 month loan with our bank. We put down 30%. Can't remember whether that helped bring the payments down or not to be honest but I guess it would a bit. We wanted our payments to be around the same as what we were spending on car rental so we wouldn't see a dent in our monthly expenses and are now so glad we did. It's just nice knowing that if we leave we'll be able to sell and take a bit of cash back with us. We pay out what we HAVE to pay out (listed below) but the beauty of a new is the manufacturers warranty. Hassle free motoring for 3 years. Just what I wanted as the 5 year old Jeep we had prior was in and out of the garage all the time costing us from 50aed one month to 5000aed another. Thank you!
